Care for damaged hair?

Advantages: detangles, cheap
Disadvantages: doesn't seem to help damaged hair or protect as much as it says

...After using the L'Oreal damage care serum and being really pleased with the results, I decided to try the hair mask from the same range. This is a product that is formulated especially for damaged or brittle hair and they say it will replenish and nourish the hair from root to tip to give it strength and a 'long lasting protection'. I wouldn't describe my hair as being brittle, but it is fairly damaged from colouring and daily straightening, so I do use a mask on it once a week to help retain the moisture and hopefully keep it in reasonable condition. This particular mask comes in a yellow pot with deep red accents as you can probably see from the picture above. I know it's cheap, so you wouldn't really expect luxury packaging, but I do think the tub is a bit bright and busy looking, and a more minimal packaging would look better...

Review of L'Oreal Elvive Damage Care Masque Pot

Great for short thin hair

Advantages: Heat very quickly
Disadvantages: Unable to cope with my thick hair

...I bought these recently as I cannot live without my older larger plated GHD's and thought that these would be a handy alternative. They do heat in under 3 seconds and have the same excellent ceramic plates as the larger version, however I found them very time consuming. I have very thick hair about shoulder length and unlike their larger cousins they were unable to straighten as effectively . On saying that they were brilliant on my fringe. I would recommend these to anyone with shorter or thin hair. A fashion conscientious male friend of mine used these and loved them and were perfect for his short hair. I would recommend using the straightening oil with these as they are very hot and I did find a few burnt strands of hair ....

A Very Very Good Hair Day!

...After having very short and spiky hair for most of my teens and early 20's, I decided earlier this year that I need a change and decided to grow my hair. When it got to a certain length, I purchased a pair of £20 straighteners from a supermarket. Being the 'typical' man, I decided that straighteners were straighteners, and I was not going to pay over the odds for a product that would no doubt do the job just as well. After getting sick and tired of waiting about 5 minutes for my straighteners to heat up, and about 45 minutes trying to get my hair straight, I decided on the recomendation of my friend to purchase a pair of the GHD mini thin straighteners. They come in a neatly presented box, with quite stylish packaging. The box had instructions on how to use and safety advice, which I would recomend reading due to the heat factor...

Great soft hold product for your hair

Advantages: smooth light hold, not sticky
Disadvantages: not a lot of hold

...If all you need in a pomade type of product is a soft smoothing hold then this is the product for you. Its packaging is appealing to the eyes and the product itself is also. It does not provide a lot of hold but it works well in longer styles. This product leaves out the sticky goopy feel that some other pomades are best known for. If you are looking for something to stand your hair up with then this is not the product. I have used this product many times and have found it satisfactory to my standards. As with all products it does help to know how to use it. It works well for medium to long hair and should not be used to hold short hair in place. It is more of a natural feel product....

Anyone who read my review on the shampoo will know that I began to use this range in December 2004 and have never looked back! ~ Price ~ This range of hair care products, isn't cheap and they are quite hard to find up here in Newcastle. Dove Colour Care - Kind to your coloured hair....

Advantages: Smells delicious / Takes care of coloured hair.
Disadvantages: Bottle of conditioner is smaller than the bottle of shampoo - conditioner always runs out first.

...Dove Colour Care is a shampoo / conditioner designed to take care of the colour and condition of colour treated or highlighted hair! So far this range has done the job for me - I have a full-head of bleached blonde hair which is kept looking vibrant and feeling silky soft - and as a bonus it smells gorgeous! Since I have started using these products my hair actually feels much better and isn't as dry as it used to be! The bottle is appealing and the shape of the bottle makes it easy to hold and dispense whilst in the bath/shower. Like it is with some shampoo/conditioner's it is not difficult to get the last bits out of the bottle - a little shake and the job is done - no more wasted bits of shampoo that are impossible to get to! The price is very reasonable and the product goes a long way! Only a little product is needed...
