...I went to the hairdressers today....which now I regret AGAIN! I used to live in Leicester, the hairdressers I used there was brillant in doing what the customer wanted. I would go in with a couple of pictures and my hair was done almost exactly as the pictures were. I went every 6 weeks or so for years and never had a complaint with them. Then a couple of years ago I moved to Colchester, BAD HAIR MOVE! I must point out first, my hair is thin but naturally curly and at the time long. went to three different hairdressers over the first few years just for a tidy up with not much of a problem except they did not seem to know about scrunch drying, but it was ok as the cut was ok. My sister suggested going to a bigger named salon like I did in Lecester, so I went to Tony and Guy. I showed them pictures as I want the style...

...As you ladies will know - it is difficult to find a hairdresser that listens to what you say. I was a regular at a well known salon and while my hairdresser did cut my hair nicely I found I was getting quite bored with the same old haircut. Anytime I asked for something different I would be handed a bunch of books and told to pick something that I fancy. Great for short thin hair

...I bought these recently as I cannot live without my older larger plated GHD's and thought that these would be a handy alternative. They do heat in under 3 seconds and have the same excellent ceramic plates as the larger version, however I found them very time consuming. I have very thick hair about shoulder length and unlike their larger cousins they were unable to straighten as effectively . On saying that they were brilliant on my fringe. I would recommend these to anyone with shorter or thin hair. A fashion conscientious male friend of mine used these and loved them and were perfect for his short hair. I would recommend using the straightening oil with these as they are very hot and I did find a few burnt strands of hair ....

When it got to a certain length, I purchased a pair of £20 straighteners from a supermarket. Being the 'typical' man, I decided that straighteners were straighteners, and I was not going to pay over the odds for a product that would no doubt do the job just as well. ...I've had these hair straighteners for roughly six months now and have used them probably every day since I was given them, so I feel fairly qualified to give my opinion: that I really can't recommend them highly enough!! The quality of GHDs is unbeatable - I've used a lot of hair straighteners in my time, and I've got to say that they really do give consistently good results. They heat up in roughly fifteen seconds, and you can straighten hair very quickly in a rush with a fairly good finish - which as you can imagine saves huge amounts of time in the mornings! Generally, unless your hair is remarkably stubborn, the hair will also stay straight for the duration of the day. It's also worth noting that they're pretty versatile, and as my hairdresser demonstrated a few days ago, it's quite easy to get nice curls using these hair...

Luke at Colournation ruined my hair!

...I had a cut and colour by Luke at Colournation in Covent Garden and two weeks on I am still avoiding mirrors. My fringe was butchered within an inch of its life and I had some serious steps hacked into my once lovely long hair. I was offered a sweeping fringe and after I made it clear that I wear my fringe very long, I was given a harsh assymetrical botch job ranging from three (yes THREE!) to seven inches! This monstrosity was taken right the way into the length of my hair, disregarding years of growth as he went. The layers were cut in with way too much enthusiasm but not blended and I was left with a ratty tail two inches longer than the body of my hair. To top it all off he then overcharged me.
