...Well what can I say I think the title says it all Hair Loss in Women or Alopecia (to give it it's proper medical term) is a horrible thing to go through (I know because I suffer with it and have done for more than 17 years since I was 9 years old) It started with a couple of small patches on the top of my head which after some time grew back then it went again and has not yet returned. I was devastated thought thet no one would want to know me or in the future that I would never have a boyfriend,marry, have a family or a good career because of it. That all seems so long ago now, I still have alopecia and yes I do wear a wig which I have done since I was 14 (I am now 26) I have tried allsorts of different treatments from shampoos to pills to vitamins and steroid tablets finishing off with a nasty ointment which was supposed to...

Baldylocks And The Three Hairs!!!!

Advantages: No need for hairspray and dyes!
Disadvantages: NO HAIR!

...a very difficult thing to do when you live with an ongoing situation but I tried very hard. I bought myself some herbal chill pills and a good shampoo, changed my diet and drank plenty of water and most importantly ate plenty of fruit and veg After about 6 months I started to notice that my hair has regained some of its thickness although it was by no means like it had been previously - but anything was better than nothing! Glad to say that at this present time the hair loss seems to have stopped - and hopefully as long as I continue to chill and eat properly it will stay that way. A Very Very Good Hair Day!

Great for short thin hair

Advantages: Heat very quickly
Disadvantages: Unable to cope with my thick hair

...I bought these recently as I cannot live without my older larger plated GHD's and thought that these would be a handy alternative. They do heat in under 3 seconds and have the same excellent ceramic plates as the larger version, however I found them very time consuming. I have very thick hair about shoulder length and unlike their larger cousins they were unable to straighten as effectively . On saying that they were brilliant on my fringe. I would recommend these to anyone with shorter or thin hair. A fashion conscientious male friend of mine used these and loved them and were perfect for his short hair. I would recommend using the straightening oil with these as they are very hot and I did find a few burnt strands of hair ....

My weight loss journey

...Member?s advice on weight loss: (Update: Week Two: 16th June 2009): This week was harder than my first week, I get terrible PMS which leads to cravings and also affects my mood a lot. I have had several bouts of tearfulness and some terrible mood swings. Normally a couple of bars of chocolate would help, (I am sure it does something to calm my moods), but obviously that is out of the question. Money has been a bit short this week too which has added to the stress but at least I have not ruined my diet! I actually lost more this week, 7.5lbs! Woohoo! That means I have nearly lost a stone in two weeks! I don?t expect the weight loss to keep up this speed but I am really happy about it! The main thing I did better this week is drinking water, I am sure that I have been drinking my 2 litres a day and I really do feel so much better...

Good Hair Day? Definitely!

...I've had these hair straighteners for roughly six months now and have used them probably every day since I was given them, so I feel fairly qualified to give my opinion: that I really can't recommend them highly enough!! The quality of GHDs is unbeatable - I've used a lot of hair straighteners in my time, and I've got to say that they really do give consistently good results. They heat up in roughly fifteen seconds, and you can straighten hair very quickly in a rush with a fairly good finish - which as you can imagine saves huge amounts of time in the mornings! Generally, unless your hair is remarkably stubborn, the hair will also stay straight for the duration of the day. It's also worth noting that they're pretty versatile, and as my hairdresser demonstrated a few days ago, it's quite easy to get nice curls using these hair...

Yogalates for Weight Loss

...weight loss. I did not buy this DVD as I need to lose weight, but love Yoga and thought I might do a little extra at home rather than paying an fortune to go to an extra class. After a month of doing the DVD... if i'm honest only once a week, I have not lost any weight. I have felt some increased toning though in ceratin parts of my body. I am not suggesting that you cannot lose weight by doing these workouts, but I am the kind of person that thinks oh i've done a bit of excerise now i'm going to eat chocolate. I personally find Yoga very relaxing and gives me a bit of 'me time'. I found that this DVD has actually helped me to relax even further than when I attend one Yoga session a week. I did not however find that it gave me any me time. Realistically what it achieved was for my other half to take photos of me without me knowing...

...If like me you are a Black woman who straightens their hair then you will know that you are doing untold damage to it. I've gone for the more natural look now but a few years ago I was so obsessed with getting it straight that I tonged it, relaxed it and put it through heat hell so much that it started to fall out.
