...Introduction ########## I wanted a hair thickening product. So after lots of research I decided to go for American Crew. They have a name for professional hair grooming products - so they have a reputation in the grooming line for men. My expectations were high - so here iis my review after 1 month of use. The Shampoo ########### It comes in a stylish brown bottle which is 250ml it cost me £7.95 online from the official store. The lid is the standard flip top you get on most shampoo bottles these days. Using it - the smell is just amazing, I was really impressed. It's the kind of smell which reminds you of the barbers, from a fresh haircut. ...Boots expert thickening shampoo I often buy the Boots Expert range and when this thickening shampoo was on special offer £1 in my local Boots store, i decided to give it a go. I don't have thinning hair but decided that if it made it thicker, that was good, and if all it did was give it a good clean then that also worked for me. WHAT IS IT? Obviously, it's a shampoo, which also claims to restore volume, moisture and body to fragile hair PRODUCT AND PACKAGING... As with all of the Expert range (or the ones I have tried) this comes in a fairly clinical looking white plastic bottle with all ingredients and instructions for use on the back. GLISS SHAMPOO for Coloured/Permed Hair - Magic!

Advantages: Does what it says on the tin!

...put on my make up, remove the towel and my hair was full, soft and would fall into shape, merely had to blow dry the ends under at the back and the shape front towards my face. Now comes the sad part. Schwarzkopf in their infinite wisdom, discontinued this particular shampoo. I did try the new Gliss for Coloured Hair, but wasn't impressed.I have spent an absolute fortune on many, many others all claiming to repair, thicken, volumise, but to no avail. ...In search of something to brighten up my hair from the dull, drab state it was in, I came across this in Boots (the fact it was on a 3 for 2 offer persuaded me even more!) It's specified as for people with fine, thin or limp ( i.e. my!) hair. *** What does it look like? *** It comes in a deep blue, transparent squeezy tube with white and orange writing splattered across the front. The tube's very tall and this helps give the impression that it contains more than just 250ml. The tube's pretty cool, looks quite sophisticated and professional. However the lid at the base often fills up with the shampoo so when you open it, it escapes over all your hands. Trevor Sorbie Male Grooming Thickening Shampoo.

Advantages: Thickens Hair - Just like it says!

The range has a choice of three - Thickening, Scrub & Run (which also conditions) or Detox (for removal of pollutants such as wax, gel, etc.). The Thickening Shampoo is my shampoo of choice. My hair is normal/greasy, and one wash leaves my hair feeling and looking thicker and very soft to touch (even when I've used gel/wax in my hair). You don't need to use a lot as it produces a creamy, rich lather, so you get the most out of the money you pay for it. I use it everyday, and find that is suitable for everyday use, causing no irritation to my scalp. Fancy hair - Tigi Catwalk Honey and Oatmeal Shampoo

Advantages: moisturises hair, makes it feel thick and fuller
Disadvantages: The cost and the smell is a little too sweet, doesn't lather up much

...I like trying out different shampoos and this is the most recent one I have tried out. This shampoo is from Bead Head, Tigi and is from the Catwalk range. The shampoo is an oatmeal and honey shampoo. It is meant to be comfort food for damaged hair. Unfortunately I do fall in to this category since I have coloured my hair quite a lot and the ends of my hair are quite dry! The shampoo comes in two sizes, a 750ml size and a 400ml size. I bought the 750ml size, which is nice and big! The bottle is a see-through green colour, so you can see how much shampoo is left in the bottle. It has a large 'C' on the front of it and 'Catwalk' written through the middle of the C. At the bottom written in white writing is 'Oatmeal & Honey Shampoo'. On the back are instructions for use in several different languages. I really like the design of the bottle...

Shampoo gave me a bad hair day.

Advantages: Gives fine hair body...
Disadvantages: ....of the kind found on a corpse!

...transform my fine, flyaway, flat hair into a lush quiff. It didn't. The particular substance which imparts the thickener to the shaft of the hair feels like some sort of resin. It gives my hair a parched, straw like texture. And while it does seem to have slightly more body, this comes at a price - you'll need to use a moisturising shampoo after a few days application. I appreciate we've all got different hair - and of course as a bit of a shampoo queen I may be slightly more critical - but I won't be using this product again. If your hair is fine and flyaway, you're probably better off using a moisturising shampoo which at least won't dry it out - and using another product afterwards - say mouse or gel - to give it a bit of lift. In other respects the shampoo is fine - I even quite like the smell, unlike Mrs Tweaker who hated it...

THE BEST SHAMPOO I HAVE EVER USED!!

Advantages: Does everything it says and more without leaving fine hair greasy
Disadvantages: Honestly can not think of any

...This is my first review, so not totally sure how it goes, but i'll give it a go... Having used many MANY different shampoos for straightening hair or adding volume, I came across Joico Body Luxe Shampoo and thought i'd give it a shot-and i was glad that i did! The shampoo has a very pleasant, fruity kind of smell, that is not overpowering as many shampoos are. A little goes a long way with this shampoo so not much is needed. It works into a thick foaming lather and smells divine. Without the use of any conditioner, my hair felt instantly fuller. After blow drying my hair and straightening it with my beloved GHDs i was amazed at how much volume my hair had (it looked as if i had double the hair), and it also stayed a lot straighter than it usually does! This shampoo left my hair light, bouncy and healthy without weighing it down...

Batiste Dry Shampoo - a good product for hair emergencies!

Advantages: Makes hair look clean; excellent value; doesn't irritate scalp.
Disadvantages: Leaves an unpleasant deposit; hair doesn't 'feel' as clean as after a wash.

...I am a bit of a slave to my hair as it needs washing every day. Although some hair stylists don't recommend daily washing, I think some peoples' hair just needs it, and I'm one of those people. If you have a morning when you're in a real rush, washing and drying your hair can be too time-consuming. It can be much quicker to pop a shower-cap on and have a quick shower without having to deal with shampooing, conditioning and using a hairdryer for 20 minutes - but I never feel clean and presentable if my hair looks a little bit greasy. I bought Batiste Dry Shampoo ('original' scent) from my local chemists' for rushed mornings such as those. It cost just £2.07 so I could afford to experiment with it. Hair today, gone tomorrow! Batiste Dry Shampoo

Advantages: Smells great, makes greasy hair look fabulous, can be used to create killer styles!
Disadvantages: Runs out too quickly, can leave a gritty feeling in the hair.

...Ok so this is my first review on here and I think it's appropriate that I write about a product that people should be wary of, but should be in every girl...and boy's handbag! I had an aversion to dry shampoo as I had always associated it with people who could not be bothered to wash their hair, or just dirty people in general! That was a little bad of me and I am ashamed! Washing your hair regulary can be very bad for it indeed, depending on what sort of hair you have, some people can get away with washing it as often as they please and other poor souls get left with dry brittle hair if they so much as wash it more than once a week. If you like me are in the middle then you should wash your hair once or twice a week.
