...I won't be entering this month's "Newsletter Creative Writing" competition on the subject of "What does Halloween mean to you?", having already expressed my views on the subject in the rhyme below, which just happens to be the requisite length in words. Although originating on this side of the Atlantic, the deeply unpleasant festival of Halloween had been all but forgotten here until re-imported from America, presumably at the instigation of peddlers of cards and costumes, in the last few decades. Review of Should we celebrate Halloween?

Happy Halloween!

Advantages: A timeless classic of a Teen Slasher film
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

...With today being Halloween I thought that I'd write a nice topical review of one of my favourite horror films of all time, this of course being John Carpenter's 'Halloween', a film that I'm sure most of you have seen by now given that it tends to be shown on one channel or another pretty much every year. Tonight the film can be found on BBC1 at a quarter to midnight, so for those of you that have not yet seen the film then there is no excuse not to now. While researching on the internet to see if the version that I have of the DVD is still available, I found that it was actually deleted a couple of months back. Review of Halloween (DVD)

Ty Hello Kitty Halloween Bat

Advantages: beautiful addition to the family
Disadvantages: some may say the price

...I'm a big lover of dark things and a small lover of cute things so how could I resist buying a plush which included them both? well I couldn't so I made no hesitation when buying this Halloween HK bat. I've never hidden the fact that I'm a lover and collector of Hello kitty plushies and item's despite being hounded by my friends about it. About a year ago I got fed up and sold a lot of my plush collection which I now regret so I'm trying to build it back up again and I thought this was a beautiful plush to start my collection with again. I bought my bat from off Ebay which is a similar price to websites selling this anyway, I bought it from there instead because the postage was a little cheaper and I like to save as much money as I can.
