...~~~HAMBURG MARRIOTT HOTEL~~~ As well as having stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Hamburg several times, I have also stayed at the Renaissance sister hotel, the Marriott, located on ABC Strasse in the exclusive shopping and dining part of the city of Hamburg. The hotel is well located and transfer time from the airport (Hamburg) is under 20 minutes or so with taxi fares also being under 20Euros (£13-£15). Just outside o f the hotel you will find a glittering array of upmarket shops and small boutiques and the hotel is located in a very quiet area and all of the rooms are exceptionally quiet. Arriving at the hotel: As you enter the hotel, the lobby is sumptuous and well-kept, and there are always plenty of bellhops to help with your bags. Relax at the Renaissance Hamburg Hotel

Many rates are available and most options come with or without breakfast. There are single rooms and double rooms (i.e. 1 king bed or two doubles) that would accommodate 2 or 4 respectively. Wunderbar Hamburg Germany

Advantages: Great lively city; great sights!!

...Hamburg Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany and has a rich and varied history and in the modern age is still world famous for it's port, tourist attractions and the Beatles in the 1960s as well as one of the recent James Bond films having been set here in the 1990s! I first visited Hamburg when I was six or seven and had family living over there and I am really pleased that I did as otherwise it is certainly one of those cities that you could easily miss and that would be a shame! Hamburg is a great cosmopolitan city that will appeal to old and young alike. Hamburg, Germany: great destination!

Brilliant for a weekend getaway to Hamburg

Advantages: Helpful staff, spacious rooms

...I lived in Hamburg for a few months in 2006 and so I was keen to take my family there for a weekend when the Christmas market was there. After looking at various hotels we decided to stay in the Best Western St Raphael. Location: The hotel is only a few minutes away from the main train station (and U-bahn stops - Hauptbahnhof Nord and Hauptbahnhof Sued) and also the bus station so if you fly into Luebeck then you're only a few minutes from your bus to or from the airport which is especially handy as the flights often arrive or depart early or late at night. Advantages: FAST EFFICIENT SERVICE AND GOOD QUALITY PRODUCTS

...Whilst on a short break in London last week my family and I were looking for somewhere to eat in the West end and came across HAMBURGER UNION in Garrick Street, Covent Garden. None of us are great fans of burger "joints" but decided that we would give it a try, as from the outside it looked modern and clean and although busy not bursting at the seams as some place are up there. Also it was great to go somewhere "non smoking". On entering it reminded us of restaurants in America, as ,you order everything (food and drinks) at the counter, pay and then proceed into the main eating area and place your order number on the table for the server to see. ...Last May I stayed in Hamburg for 24 hours, my train arrived at 3 pm and I left the following day at about the same time. Can one get a more than superficial impression of such a big city, the second largest German city (~ 1,8 million inhabitants) after Berlin, in such a short time? I think so, after all tourists are only interested in the city centre, who'd want to visit the suburbs, which are more or less the same everywhere in the world anyway? It may help that this was already my third visit and I?ve developed a kind of ritual at least for the beginning of my trip. I leave my luggage in a locker at the train station, go to the Tourist Information there and buy a Hamburg Card. Last year it cost 8 ?, I cherish it not only for the possibility of saving money on tickets when going hither and thither by U-Bahn, S-Bahn (kind of tubes...

Hamburg means nightlife and more

The town hall called "Rathhaus", the Michel (the biggest church in Hamburg), the legendary "Reeperbahn" are all stations of a sightseeing tour. I think all of you know the Reeperbahn. Maybe you know it as THE street of sex in Hamburg. But thats not right. Here are also many clubs and they are great. Here is music for everyone. Whatever you what to hear in Hamburg is the right club, like 2-step(which is very successful at the moment), techno, hiphop or just pop. But Hamburg has another site ! In Hamburg yoú will find the Alster. I´m not sure if it´s a river or not. We also have great shopping miles. For example in the central of the city. The Mönkebergstraße and the Gänsemarkt are the most visited shopping miles...

...Hamburger Hill is a much overlooked film relating to the intensity and gruelling conditions endured by the US forces in the Vietnam War. Unlike many other Vietnam War films, this one dramatises an actual event, the taking of 'Hamburger Hill' by 101st Airborne Division, despite heavy losses and the menacing and powerful 28th North Vietnamese Regiment who were holding the hill. The film didn't really use any majorly established actors for the film, going with some vaguely familiar names such as Dylan McDermot and Courtney B Vance, and giving the cast a pretty wide berth in terms of emotional presence on screen. A young Don Cheadle also takes part. The script seems to focus on the futility of the war, with constant jibes from the men of 101st showing that politics filters right down to the men doing the grunt work in the field during...
