Vaseline hand and nail lotion - sensitive enough for my eczema

Advantages: Good value, not slimy or sticky, soft hands
Disadvantages: Quite runny, packaging not perfect, not an intensive moisturiser

...I have very sensitive hands which have suffered from eczema all my life, they are constantly dry and itchy, so I have to be extremely careful about what products I use on my skin. I normally moisturise my hands every time I wash my hands, before bed, in the morning and other time throughout the day, so moisturiser is very important to me. While away from home, I ran out of my normal creams and so I had to borrow some Vaseline hand and nail lotion. I was very surprised to find that this lotion did not irritate my skin any more than my usual moisturisers. 'Hand & Nail Everyday Care Lotion'

Advantages: great fresh scent, moisturises, nourishes, softens, smoothens hands and strengthens nails
Disadvantages: Larger packs are more expensive but product does the job

...I like to carry a lotion or hand moisturiser in my hand bag to use on my hands when I am on the move or at work especially when I wash my hands after using the bathroom or if I notice my hands have gone dry after a few hours of typing away at my keyboard:) I use my hands a lot while working at the PC at the job so I like to have them moisturised and looked after though I suppose I'd do the same if I did not use them a lot at work; when I am home I like to take good care of them e.g. when I had to hand-wash my dishes before I had a dishwasher that allowed me the little plus of having no chipped nails for at least a couple of weeks or more... ...I have the most awful hands in existence. My nails are ridged and prone to splitting, and my fingers are freakishly long with too many lines. I long for smooth, young-looking hands with lovely nails and normal-sized fingers! I decided I couldn't live with my godawful hands forever, and decided to sort them out, once and for all. I made a quick trip to Boots and Superdrug, and came back home, armed with this hand cream, nail buffers, emery boards and nail varnishes. My mum uses a Vaseline moisturiser and I was slightly doubtful at first - Vaseline is a slightly mumsy brand, but I'd frittered away the rest of my money on L'oreal and Maybelline nail varnishes when I could have made do with Miss Sporty and Collection 2000, and this was the only hand cream I could find for under £1.50. ...Clarins Age Control Hand Lotion claims to prevent age spots, even skin tone and soften the hands, I can confirm that this is a product that delivers on its promises. The lotion is light and although it appears to absorb quickly it still leaves your skin feeling a little bit greasy (well at lerast it does on me). Age Control Hand Cream is quite light in texture and as a pleasant 'fresh' smell to it, as you would expect from the Clairins range. It is recommended to use the lotion several times throughout the day, but I must admit I only used it 2 maybe 3 times maximum and that seems to be enough to get the job done for me. You will notice your hands starting to feel a lot softer within the first couple of weeks. Tesco hand and body lotion

Advantages: Absorbs quicky,relieves tight and dry hands
Disadvantages: not very intensive

...After trying the Tesco cocoa butter body lotion and it being such a success, I decided to give the Tesco hand and body lotion a go. At £1.14, even if I didn't like it, I wasn't losing much. The packaging. Pretty standard creamy coloured squeeezy bottle really. It's got the blue Tesco logo on the front. The smell. When you first apply it, there is quite a strong synthetic smell, this fades after about 5 minutes though. Does it work? Yes it does, it absorbs very quickly and whilst it is not what you could call intensive, it made my relieved my hands of the tightness they normally have. I would recommend this product for anyone that has dry or tight hands. It's not particularly intensive and it won't sort out chapped or flaky hands but for what it costs, it's good as a basic hand cream....

...Whenever there is a cheap supermarket version of something, Ill give it a go, and lotion is no different. Many months ago, a well in the know friend told me how most manufacturers make supermarket versions within the same as their named brands. I wasnt too sure yet only this week heinz are reported to be thinking about doing value brands as well for supermarkets! If its the same product why pay 3 or 4 times the price!!
