A new breed of Handheld PC!

Advantages: Great Size Screem, True VGA, Bluetooth & WiFi, 2 expansion slots!!
Disadvantages: Screen scuffs quite easily, Screen cover can be annoying. No case!

...Hi, Working in the job I do, I've had a fair amount of handheld PC's, from the very first Ipaq's, new ipaq's, Palm T3's Palm T5's. Palms so old I've no idea what they are. After using the palms i swore I'd never use another ipaq again. They were big, clunky, and the major problem was that the battery was always rubbish! Then I saw the 4700. (Being nerdy like i am, I thought I'd have to try it!) From turning this on, I was blown away! The first thing that grabs your attention is the screen! After using a Palm it sems massive! The colours are bright and crisp, and the brightness adjusts quite well to the brightness of the room. The second thing you notice is the screen! (OK, I'll move on from the screen!) As with the other Ipaqs, they use Active Sync to connect through to the PC. This, as always is very intuative...

HP iPaq Enterprise Handheld

Advantages: Easy to use.
Disadvantages: None yet. Will update.

.... His cost £250, I paid £222 delivered (ordered September 2007 from BT). It does not have an integrated phone, terrific! If you want to use the iPaq for phoning you can, go to contacts, press dial number and it dials your mobile for you. Personally I just use the mobile. I bought this PDA to keep my phone and camera separate from my organiser. I can't comment on Sync problems with non-Windows environments, as I run Windows XP on my PC and Laptop. I do like Windows Mobile 6. From opening the box, everything was smooth. All programs were preinstalled on PDA. I had to install Microsoft ActiveSync on my PC and Laptop. Put the iPaq on charge and had synced it to my PC, Laptop and mobile phone within moments. iPod Touch - a PDA for the masses?

Advantages: Intuitive interface, very easy to use, gorgeous device, very slender profile
Disadvantages: Fingerprint magnet! No browser flash support. Also no native support for adding applications

...What can I say about this that hasn't already been done to death? The interface has been talked about so much and having played around with mine a lot I can honestly say that the hype about how easy it is to use is justified. It is a huge fingerprint magnet both on the front and back but considering you're only going to be using your fingers to operate it you'd better learn to live with it and wiping it clean often! As a portable media player it's a joy to use and even though I'm used to computers this was new to me but it only took me a short while to pick it up. Even my mum who gets confused with anything electrical and gadget orientated was able to use it easily, in fact I had to be careful she didn't steal it because she was liking it so much! I bought it on special offer for £155. Appearance The 701SD is absolutely tiny. It weighs around a kilogram and is roughly the same size as a hardback reading book when in the closed position. It comes in a neat box along with instructions,a mains charger, a protective case and a system CD. It has a 7 inch screen which is absolutely tiny but is still perfectly functional.
