...I have been a massive fan of the author Jodi Picoult and her books ever since I read "My Sister's Keeper", many years ago, when it was a Richard and Judy read (although I didn't know that at the time!). Since then, I've gone out of my way to read all of her other works, and get hold of her new books as soon as they come out. I always save any book tokens I get for Christmas to buy her books but even I couldn't believe my luck when last week, I won a copy of her brand new book not due out until April in a competition from her website! I was over the moon to open the packet and find my pre-release book in there and I started it that night. I've loved her past two books, so Jodi had a lot to live up for me...did she succeed once more? Handle With Care is possibly one of Jodi's most controversial books, with an impossible question...

cAREFUL HOW YOU HANDLE THIS

I recenetly read 'The Lost Daughter' by Diane Chamberlain which was advertised as being "for fans of Jodi Picoult this is a must read". I found that this was far better than Jodi Picoult's books but then having found Picoult's newest book 'Handle With Care' I thought I would give her work another read. Jodi had a lot of work to do to woo me back from the work of Diane - did she handle me with enough care with this book? Wow what a minefield of controversy this book brings, it is a very absorbing book with some even more difficult decisions and questions wrapped up in the story. The story deals with a particularly nasty brittle bone disease...

The Mighty Mars Bar

Advantages: Classic chocolate bar
Disadvantages: They changed the nougat filling

...This is perhaps the most classic chocolate bar from my childhood. It has long been my favourite as a kid and I sort of have to say it still is so as not to feel as if I have disowned it (sorry Mars Bar but I have found other favourites - I still love you though!). 'A Mars a day helps you work rest and play' - this was the little catchphrase that was associated with Mars Bar. Funny really; it's like saying a chocolate bar a day is good for you. The slogan has now changed to 'Pleasure you can't measure' which definitely seems more appropriate. A standard Mars bar comes at 58g, about 11cm long and 1.8cm high. You'll pay about 32p for this bar in supermarkets which is well below the norm of 50p. This Pyrex cake dish has handles.

Advantages: A good long lasting versatile dish
Disadvantages: fluted edges may be more difficult to clean

...Amongst my Pyrex collection I have this Pyrex cake dish with handles. This cake dish is round has fluted edges and two handles for easy lifting, This is has1.1 litre capacity and is about the same circumference as a dinner plate. Price between £4 and £5 available in a lot of shops selling cooking /eating equipment and on line at http://www.kitchen-outlet.co.uk/buy/Cake-Dish-11Ltr.asp. So what do I use this dish for? Well all sorts of things, I cook sponge upside down puddings in it. I use it for cheesecakes. I present salads in it. The list of uses is too long to write on here. The only downside is the fluted edges yes they look attractive but sometimes cooked food gets stuck in them. Still fairly easily remedied just needs a bit of elbow grease and a non scratch cleaner and cleans up well I expect most of us or our parents...

...I bought a pack of these as it was 100% extra - 16 bars for the price of 8 and the fact that I thought they would be a treat for my daughter in her lunch box. She sometimes moans that she has too much fruit! I can't remember how much I paid for them, I could guess but I won't bother as I could be way out. I was feeling a little bit peckish one afternoon so I though I would try one, they are all individually wrapped when you open the main packet . 'Cookie bars' what does that mean to you?? Or what do you expect?? To me it means moist crumbly biscuit with lots of chocolate chips in. I opened the wrapper and inside was quite a thick rectangular biscuit I don't know why, but it didn't quite look like I expected it to. Upon tasting it I thought it was a bit dry. I got this in my local newsagents, but you could basically buy these just about anywhere, I saw one in a clothes shop the other day! It?s a chunky 58g bar and my god was I looking forward to this review. I?ll start by stating that I believe Mars are a magnificent company and really have some of the best chocolate treats out there. A useful replacement for the Wii sensor bar

Advantages: A relatively cheap spare sensor bar. Good for a second TV or a quick replacement.
Disadvantages: The cable is still flimsy. Other sensor bars are even cheaper.
