...Margaret and David meet in the middle of war-torn London (the fictitious Hanover Street to be precise) and are immediately attracted to each other. David, an American pilot, is eager that they meet up again, but there is a problem - Margaret is already married to Paul, with whom she has a daughter. Eventually, she casts this tiny problem aside in the rush of her love for David and they embark upon an affair. Then David and Paul are coincidentally sent on the same mission to France and are forced to protect each other. Will they both return from the mission alive? Will they realise that they are both in love with the same woman? And how will Margaret cope with the loss of either her husband or lover? I am not a fan of films about war or love, but the fact that Harrison Ford and Christopher Plummer both starred in this film encouraged...

?WE NEVER SAY NO?

Advantages: Nicely furnished, good facilities
Disadvantages: High drink and food prices, poor service, questionable food quality

...This is the strap line of the Hanover International Chain. ?OOOOEEERR?, the mind boggles. On Sunday 11th January I needed to be in High Wycombe for a mid-afternoon meeting, followed by a 10.30 appointment in Hereford the following day, thus I needed somewhere to stay. Always price conscious, and particularly this time having to pay for it myself, I scanned the internet, but could find nothing in Hereford that appealed to me; the offerings were either mediocre and cheap, or outstanding and bloody expensive, at which point I decided it was time to widen the search. Doing this, I stumbled across the Hanover International in Bromsgrove, some 1½ hours drive from Hereford; with such a late start this seemed perfectly reasonable. However, having stayed in the Hanover International, Ashbourne in August, albeit for a good price...

Come out, come out wherever you are!!

Advantages: Air conditioned rooms, good food, excellent leisure facilities
Disadvantages: Difficulties finding the staff, access to the ladies changing rooms, price of drinks

...Unusually, my travels this time took me to the South for an early morning meeting in Camberley. As I didn?t fancy a 3am start, my only option was an overnight stop. Believing instinctively the bargains available up North weren?t likely to as freely obtained around Surrey and Hampshire, my first port of call was www.laterooms.com. Their site presented me with several choices, including the hotel where I was attending my meeting. The downside was it was in the middle of nowhere and had no leisure facilities, and with a Sunday evening to myself, I needed some relaxation before settling down to work. The Patio - Hanover St Edinburgh - Warning!

Advantages: Good location
Disadvantages: Very ifffy service mentality

...We ate at The Patio, Hanover St, Edinburgh on Saturday. A strange long, thin restaurant interior, and a décor that was in need of a serious makeover some years ago, but didn't get it. We waited too long for drinks, and finally the order to be taken. Having waited, we asked twice for an update on when our food would arrive. Especially when others were arriving after us, and getting their food quickly. Finally ... the garlic bread was disappointingly simply sliced crusty bread with thinly spread oiling butter - and no hint of garlic. My pizza (specially ordered as extra hot version of their special "The Patio Pizza") ... was so perfectly round, with a perfectly rounded crust, that it looked suspiciously like frozen dough ... drowned in over the top mozzarella, and little else - very disappointing! My wife ordered...

Do these biscuits hit the spot ?

Advantages: Quitev good
Disadvantages: I have had better

...cocoa flavour, very pleasant. I like these biscuits while they are sweet they are not over sweet, perfect to accompany a cup of tea or coffee. These biscuits do contain wheat flour and skimmed milk powder. I anticipate that you check ingredients if you have allergies anyway. As you might expect lots of calories, 138 per biscuit. I bought my biscuits from Tesco where they cost 72p ocado is selling them for the same price asda 1p cheaper at 71p Bahlsen biscuits are a German product from Hanover .Bahlsen food company was founded in 1889 by Hermann Bahlsen. The family do still control this business, with Herman's grandson Werner at the head. I like these biscuits although not the best I have had , I expect I shall be buying them again another time...

Polite but frustrating to deal with

Advantages: Polite staff, clear statements, easy to contact via phone
Disadvantages: poor customer service, staff often seem out of their depth

...I hold a registered power of attorney for my mother who is in a care home and no longer able to manage her own affairs. My experience of taking control of her accounts at other banks has been relatively smooth, but Citibank has proved much more frustrating to deal with. Although Citibank's strengths apparently lie in telephone and internet banking, they also have a small number of branches in London. I have visited the branches in Hanover Square and St Paul's a number of times and the staff have all been very polite and try to help but often seem out of their depth in dealing with both myself and other customers and have to find a more experienced manager to advise them what to do. The telephone banking service is probably fine for simple transactions, but I was told that they do not accept powers of attorney which simply was...

A lot of chocolate on your biscuit

...Bahlsen have been making biscuits for over 100 years, their headquarters in Hanover, Germany, they now make and market biscuits in many other countries too. Bahlsen make several varieties of chocolate biscuit but the one I chose was a milk chocolate one. I bought my 125g pack at Tesco's price was £1.25p for a packet. You can also buy them at other supermarkets for around the same price. The packet a slim rectangular cardboard one. Inside a plastic tray with 3 compartments each one containing 4 biscuits. . The biscuits are rectangular. A sweet buttery golden brown biscuit which has been half dipped in dairy milk chocolate. The frilly edge of the biscuit is attractively marked and in the centre of the both the biscuit and the chocolate side the words choco Leibniz is scrolled It is not a mean covering of chocolate but a good...
