...I actually watched the very first episode of Skins by accident while I was flicking through channel's and I have to admit, I was instantly glued to the series from episode one. So when it came to writing out my Christmas list last year, the Skins DVD was high up on my list. Luckily for me, my boyfriend treated me to it. About The DVD Series One of Skins comes in a normal DVD came which has a picture of all the main characters on the front. There are actually two DVD's inside the case which hold all the episodes from the first series of Skins as well as bonus material. Skinned - It didn't leave me skinned of happiness.

Advantages: Realistic characters, interesting plot idea.
Disadvantages: Dragged on slightly in the middle, some loose ends concerning storylines.

It broached interesting topics within the story, futuristic racism against human-machines and whether or not a machine can actually feel. Lia doesn't have super powers or isn't hunted down by the Government but is a normal (alright, very vain but somewhat normal) teen who is forced into this metal body, more drama than action. The writing style is first person and I found the way Wasserman had written Lia realistic and strangely endearing even if some of the things she said were annoying. It slightly dragged on half way into the middle but the pace resumed its normal fun to read pace. Although it's marked as a children's book I wouldn't recommend it to someone under the age of fourteen because of drug use...
