...This store has since closed down and the items it stocked can now be purchased from Warrs Harley Davidson as they owned and ran this venture. They have two branches, one at Mottingham Road south of the river thames and the other branch at the far end of the Kings Road at their motorcycle dealership. This was a store in the heart of Chelseas KIngs Road and was more a boutique than a motorbike clothing shop. It had both clothes, shoes/boots and accessories in stock. It fitted in with the clientele of Chelsea as they liked the Harley image without having to own the bike. I am a life member of HOG (Harley Owners Group) and I shopped there occasionally but prefered the atmosphere of the dealership further down the Kings Road. The prices in the boutique are slightly more inflated than the regular dealership prices would be....

New Harley XL883 Sporster 2007 Model

Advantages: A dream of a bike
Disadvantages: None that i have found

...XL883 2007 Model - this is a fabulous bike. Now comes with fuel injection which means there is no more waiting for the bike to warm up, you turn the key and just ride away, fabulous! Lights come on automatically, the bike is alarmed and knows when you have left it and when you come back by the fob so disarms and arms without even pressing a button, which means you precious Harley is safe. If anyone tries to tamper with it it gives of two small warning before it goes into complete siren mode. The bike is a dream to ride, pulls well in any gear and is solid. You are able to throw this bike around a bit which you can not do with the larger Harleys. The 2007 models are a little quieter to meet the EU regs on noise polution but this is easily remedied with after market pipes. Great fun to ride, very comfortable and a durable...

Advantages: Low cost upgrade from 883 to 1200cc's

...I purchased a used 1996 H-D 883cc Sporster for $6,000.00 (USD) I then had the engine upgraded to 1200cc's and added a few other relatively inexpensive modifications (hi-flow air breather) for a total cost of less than $900.00 (USD), I then added a larger gas tank (previous 2.2 gal to 3.4 gal), and put metal Harley Davidson lettering on tank (no decals). For all relative purchases I now have a 1996 frame on a brand new engine. A used 1996 1200cc Sporster would have cost at least $9,000.00--so I saved alot of money and got a much faster and better running custom engine, and was able to add a few more custom modifications with all of the money I saved.My bike is much faster and sounds better than any new or used stock factory direct 1200cc Sporster. Falling out of love with my Harley

Advantages: Comfortable and Cool to ride
Disadvantages: Under powered, expensive to run and unreliable

...I have a 2004 XL883 vanillia style and it's a plesant and comfortable ride. I have however had some significant problems with this bike. The yoke that secures the forks to the body has had to be replaced 3 times after failing with cracks, HD replaced under warrently (as a known manuf fault) and the fourth now seems ok after 12 months riding. It's not a morning bike, coughing and stalling for the first 10 mins of the ride, you have to allow at least an extra 3 mins to allow the bike to warm up. The most recent issue was with with the gear box, which had a significant failure and cost over £2000 to repair. Having done 35K miles in 3 years the mileage is high for a Harley, but not in real terms and as the bike has had all it's services (by Harley Dearlers) and has been been well cared for this seems a tad too much trouble for what is...

...Harley-Davidson has dominated the custom/ cruiser market for years, since 1903 to be exact, and none of the big Japanese bike manufacturers had anything to compete for a slice of that particular cake. In the early eighties, Yamaha built its first attempt at cracking this market. They produced a 750cc V-twin engined bike in the style of a Harley. This early model fell flat on its arse. The problem was that Harley-Davidson owners had bought into the whole life-style and heritage of the company and the ideals that went along with it. The ultimate riding experience

...I have loved Harleys ever since I was small. There was something about them, that look, that sound, THAT reputation. All bad-ass bikers ride Harleys, right? Well, erm, no actually. Now I'm a grown-up (sort of) and I find the reality is somewhat different to the dream. The majority of Harley riders I know are very nice chaps, with not a hint of "bad-ass" about them. They simply appreciate their bikes, and enjoy riding, and, more often than not, customising them. I entered the fold late last year. I was, at the time, in hospital recovering from a broken back and smashed pelvis following a quite nasty bike accident.
