Advantages: QUALITY OF SOUND.

I was silly enough to buy speakers that were fashionable, and recently noticed the quality of sound was lacking, and the only good thing about the speakers was their looks. This came about because I have moved and in my new house, I have more space, and therefore can up the volume without the sound drowning me out of the room. I love music. It is very important to me, and listening to it is part of my relaxation. Therefore, to me sound is important. I also like gaming and the sounds on the computer are also important for this to be a pleasurable experience. Somehow the new fangled speakers let me down, and I went to where I store all of my old accessories, and picked out the Harmon Kardon speakers that came with my computer from Dell, plugged them in and rebooted... The dvd begins with short interviews with the band members,who were excited but very tense at the prospect of performing live again after so long.There were so many things to be rehearsed,They had an orchestra that were not quite getting the drift on one song which didnt help the overall atmosphere,plus when they rehearsed their harmonies,even though they sounded amazing, they werent up to The Eagles standards. ...Digital sound levels, it is not the best idea to plug in and play. The modes are dial operated on the unit and the buttons simple to follow. Very disappointed in the Radio operation though, as it took me way too long to store my presets and too many preset modes have spoiled the simplicity. Basic operation is good and the plain `bass` and `treble` dials allow the natural sound to flow through without filtration. VALUE FOR MONEY - Set around the £250 mark, you are not going to find much else in this league. The Technics equipment in this range excel on power and features but lack the refinement and precision of the Yamaha. Companies like Harmon Kardon compete well with this and it is advised to listen to a few before making the final decision. Yamaha lasts the distance and is worth every penny in build. ...onto a DVD that will work in almost any regular DVD player. The on-board Harmon-Kardon speakers produce a surprisingly rich sound, and the bundled SRS "virtual surround" system does a good job with DVDs; unfortunately no true 5.1 outputs are provided, although that probably wouldn't be a particularly useful feature on a laptop! Media Center is also handy for digital camera users -- a few simple image editing tools (red-eye removal, cropping, colour balance, etc.) are available, and slideshows can be recorded on to DVD to send to granny to watch on TV, and the Qosmio's built-in multi-format card reader makes short work of transferring pictures from your camera. While we’re on the sound quality, the built-in Harmon Kardon speakers are incredibly good. There is a slight tinny sound, but not much at all. As far as laptop speakers go they are great.
