Keeping it all in Harmony

Advantages: Location, Pricing, Expert knowledge

I play a wide variety of instruments and it is always good to find a music shop that is a) not too far from home, b) staffed by very knowledgeable and friendly people and c) doesn't charge over the odds for their equipment. A shop that fits this description can be found in the otherwise dull town of Dorchester. In Trinity Street can be found the premises of Harmony Music. Not only do they sell from these premises, but they also maintain an eBay shop. To give an example of why I like them, I visited the shop last Thursday and asked for advice on the purchase of a new amplifier that is more suitable for my new guitar. brings harmony to your lounge

Advantages: easy to use, beautiful to look at, full of features
Disadvantages: Not always perfect, a bit pricey

...Being an Audio Visual enthusiast and a massive geek, my lounge is stuffed full of all sorts of seperates that require remote controls. From my 7.1 denon amp to my Sony HDD CD player. So a grand total of 5 remote controls had to find a home on the coffee table or bookshelf and it was driving my wife nuts. Especially when she picked the wrong controller and was trying to turn the TV up with the DVD remote. If you had more than one piece of equipment on, its a pain to have to use multiple controllers to turn them off or simply adjust settings. For a long while I'd wanted a remote to do it all, more so though, I wanted one with a touch screen. After all, who doesn't love touch screen? Southern Harmony And Musical Companion - The Black Crowes

Advantages: soulful,rocky,groovy,stan ds the test of time,definitely their best album to date.Must have!
Disadvantages: Absolutely none!

...I bought this album when I was 13 and have listened to it constantly throughout my life. Its definitely on my desert island disks and totally stands the test of time in terms of playability. I have often tried to decide which one of their albums I like the best and although for me it's always a toss up between this and Shake Your Money Maker, this one always wins. I think the main difference is that they got Marc Ford (fantastic new guitarist) and organist as additions to the band. This seems to fatten out the sound brilliantly. There are some amazing gospel choir sounding backing vocals to many of the songs that tie the theme of the album tightly to its title Southern Harmony, and although the songs are rocky they also have a mellow (almost sexy) feel to them that makes this album so special. Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec

Advantages: A great car from all angles
Disadvantages: Not as many extras included as I would have liked

...I am now the proud owner of a ford focus 1.6 zetec and for the first time in many years I have actually found a car that pretty muc suits all my needs. I have spent many a time in cars that are too big, too small, not suitable, not comfortable etc but this is everything I could ask for. I own the three door version but the doors open widely and when the front seat is moved forward there is plenty of room to get anyone in the back, even my mother in law who is disabled. The back of this car is extremely spacious, comfortably fitting 3 large adults in. The boot size is deceiving in that it looks pretty small but is very spacious indeed. Perfect for all those shopping bags as well as a childs pushchair. The actual drive of this car is superb. Mine runs on unleaded and is very economical. I can get over 200 miles to £35...

Logitech Harmony 525 Advanced Universal Remote

Advantages: Control many devices using Infrared - easy to setup
Disadvantages: Can't control bluetooth or FM devices

...The Logitech Harmony 525 Advanced Universal Remote is used to control multiple devices in audio and visual systems (ie your tv, video, digital box, music players etc) Currently we use one to control an AV receiver, digital box and projector. Personally i think this is the best one i've used. Although initially to set up takes a bit of time (you have to load a program onto a computer and then add devices to the remote using the provided usb cable), the time it saves in day to day use and the practicality of one remote makes it a worthwhile task. If there is not a system listed that you want to control it has a neat feature which allow you to add other 'unknown' remote signals - its so easy - you just tell it you're going to add an 'unknown' and then point the 'unknown' systems remote at the logitech remote and it asks...

Ford Focus 1.6 - Shocking!!

Advantages: Handling and Looks
Disadvantages: Customer Service, Bodywork, Transmission...

...Two years ago I decided to buy a brand new car, and after much research I decided upon the Ford Focus 1.6 (old style now). Everything I had read pointed towards a really good choice. So I went into my local Ford dealer and a week later I had my nice new car. First thoughts were a good looking car, well built, fantastically smooth to drive, held the roads amazingly well. All of the equipment worked wonderfully well and I absolutley loved my new car. Then the problems began.... After two weeks the Airbag Modulator failed, so I went back to the dealer, and they replaced the faulty part within a few days. They wouldn't let me have a courtesy cat so was left hanging around the dealers for a few hours. All work was under warranty so no cost to me. Three weeks after the Modulator fault I was washing the car and noticed tiny rust spots...

...plus Ford give you 1 weeks Free Insurance with the car to allow you to sort out your own insurance (Ford did quote as well , over £300 more than i currently pay !!!). Great value for money and in the short time i've had it a pleasure to drive....

Harmony 885 - a good starter for an all-in-one

Advantages: Compact, all in remote for under £150, USB driven, sleek charger
