...I recently tried out this Health and Beauty Salon in Swiss Cottage...except it's not actually in a salon. Upon arriving at Harmony for my massage, I quickly realised that it was set up in someone's home. At first I was a little uncomfortable and unsure about this but soon after arriving and meeting my therapist, and seeing that the house was spotless and looked quite professional, I felt quite at ease. My friend and I actually made an appointment to try out a Stone Massage, obviously because there were 2 of us, we were hoping to have our appointments at the same time, no-one wants to hang around and wait in someone's living room for an hour for their turn. Plug it in, install the software and go to the Harmony website. Once there, a simple step-by-step guide will talk you through setting up your remote - one major plus is that there is no learning with this remote unlike the Pronto (although this has changed onlater models). All you do is simply tell the website what equipment you have and it will sift through the various makes and models until you find the right ones. Once you have finished the codes are downloaded to the remote and installed. No learning, no time spent button pressing. I was set up within 10 minutes and ready to go. ...Being an Audio Visual enthusiast and a massive geek, my lounge is stuffed full of all sorts of seperates that require remote controls. From my 7.1 denon amp to my Sony HDD CD player. So a grand total of 5 remote controls had to find a home on the coffee table or bookshelf and it was driving my wife nuts. Especially when she picked the wrong controller and was trying to turn the TV up with the DVD remote. If you had more than one piece of equipment on, its a pain to have to use multiple controllers to turn them off or simply adjust settings. For a long while I'd wanted a remote to do it all, more so though, I wanted one with a touch screen. After all, who doesn't love touch screen? ...The Logitech Harmony 525 Advanced Universal Remote is used to control multiple devices in audio and visual systems (ie your tv, video, digital box, music players etc) Currently we use one to control an AV receiver, digital box and projector. Personally i think this is the best one i've used. Although initially to set up takes a bit of time (you have to load a program onto a computer and then add devices to the remote using the provided usb cable), the time it saves in day to day use and the practicality of one remote makes it a worthwhile task. If there is not a system listed that you want to control it has a neat feature which allow you to add other 'unknown' remote signals - its so easy - you just tell it you're going to add an 'unknown' and then point the 'unknown' systems remote at the logitech remote and it asks... It must have been one of the few CDs I consider worth keeping, that's probably why I still have it. By the way, if I were to mention Solid Harmonie, most of you might have not even heard of them unless you were really into pop during the starting days of Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys sometime back in 1998. ...I've had my Harmony for a few months now. It works fine, exactly as I had hoped and I am now extremely pleased with it.... ....BUT, I thought I had better write a review before I completely forgot how nearly I could not get this thing to work, and I am IT and AV literate. THE PREDECESSORS I have had three 'learning' remotes in the past, none of them satisfactory. They were either too uncomfortable to hold, too battery intensive or just not good enough at learning. I was aware of the brilliance of products like the Philip's Pronto but its prohibitive expense and my now deep lack of trust in such products meant I could not justify getting one. "Father My Father" is a tale of lost youth and misunderstandings (Do as we say/not as we do/and don't ask), and referencing the student riots and almost-revolution of Paris '68, before Turner wails "Father, I've tried to follow you in what you say and what you do/Father I've always followed you, I'm everything you wanted me to be". This is followed by "Engine Driver", a similar song, lyrically, and paced beauifully slowly, allowing one time to take breath before album closer and epic title track "Harmony no Harmony", a recount of a young adventurer, heading to the city for fame and fortune, only to find poverty and misery. ...). A week into my stay in USA I called Harmony to find out where my order had got to. I was told that they had not received confirmation from their bank that they had received the money. After several further phone calls and being told the same thing, I had to call international back to my bank in UK who then called Harmony’s banker in NewYork and confirmed that the money has been sitting in their account for 3 weeks !!!! Needless to say Harmony made no attempt to deliver the goods as ordered, but I received a short abrupt email from Leon Gold that they would refund my money. 6 weeks later, and back in UK, I still had not received a refund. This time when I called Leon Gold to complain about the way this order had been handled and find out what had happened to the refund, he did not want to know and when I enquired what his position...
