More bizarre than bazaar!

Advantages: massive range of crazy gifts, prices
Disadvantages: products frequently out of stock due to popularity

...Who are Hawkin's bazaar? Hawkin's bazaar are a company who started off as a local toyshop at the Hawk Inn (hence their name). After the success of the toyshop, they became a niche mail order company in 1973 and since then have become a supplier of 'things you thought had gone for ever and things you never knew existed'. It is now possible to order their products online, by mail order and in one of many high-street stores. They offer an extensive range of unusual and downright random toys, gifts, gadgets and curiosities that are sourced out to appeal to many ages and tastes. I first discovered them when I was out in a shopping centre and wondered what it was as they had so many different things for sale. Walking into the shop, I noticed a complete jumble of items that I have since realised set the tone for their entire image...

Review of Hawkins Bazaar

Have a Bazaar at Hawkins!!

Advantages: Great prices, Great choice!
Disadvantages: Very low stock levels, espicially at xmas!

...to get someone to help me, but a few weeks later I knew what everything was and where they were. I was on about £5.80 an hour, which i thought was good. So what do Hawkins Bazaar sell? Its a very large selection of toys, gifts & novelties such as paintball guns, stunt kites, pogo sticks, Games & puzzles glow in the dark items, art & crafts creative sets, Grown up stuff including your own home brewing kit, Candy bra's, handcuffs and other items. Science & experiment kits, books, clockwork toys, candy grabbers, coin pushers, Wooden toys and items, the list is endless, They also have a great pocket money section which kids love. Prices can start from as little as 30p! They also have a very impressive glow in the dark section which is located in a black painted part of the shop and includes glow stars, glow sheep, glow bracelets...

Review of Hawkin's Bazaar

A bizarre bazaar!

Advantages: Wide range of gifts at reasonable prices to suit all ages
Disadvantages: Temptation to spend too much - and a slight male orientation

...I first heard of Hawkin's Bazaar about 18 months ago, on a mailing list for home educators. This is a shop which specialises partly in traditional gifts, and also, increasingly, in the strange and unusual. The gifts are mostly aimed at children, but there is a selection for adults too. If you want an inexpensive present for someone who appears to have everything, I can highly recommend Hawkin's! They do have a web-site with a good search facility, but my eyes tend to get tired looking at pictures for too long, so I ordered their catalogue. This can easily be done from the site (http://www.hawkin.co.uk) and is free even to customers outside the UK. I received it within a few days (not bad since I was in Cyprus!) and was immediately entranced by it. It's a glossy paper catalogue with a cover in bright primary colours. It...

Diamond review  THE BAZAAR THAT GLITTERS AND DAZZLES....

Advantages: dazzles, glitters, plethora of fine intricate ornaments, jewellery at bargain prices, its a bazaar, women love the place .....
Disadvantages: dusty, maybe too crowded for some, men hate the place...

...Nowhere on earth would you expect to find such bustling non-stop activity at 2.00 a.m. in the morning with rows upon rows of glittering objects dazzling in shop displays glimmering under the bright and full moon ….except for a place known as ‘Lad Bazaar’…. Yes, folks this is the place Connoisseurhaggler learnt her ‘haggling’ skills and perfected it to apply to modern retail consumer shopping. Let me Introduce….Lad Bazaar..... It gives me great pleasure to present one of Hyderabad’s oldest and finest traditional shopping bazaars. Lad Bazaar is situated in the city of Hyderabad in India. It was founded by one of the late Nizam’s wife (Nizam’s ruled Hyderabad for many years). Despite it’s name; Lad Bazaar; ‘lad’, its not a place full of lads! in fact...

Review of LadBazaar (Hyderabad)

Come shop with me at the bazaar

Advantages: cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: ?

...Hawkins Bazaar, who else’s? . The brochure/catalogue (this Christmas a red brochure with Santa surrounded by toys) is often pushed through my door or I get one inside a Sunday paper. The catelogue has been available since 1980. Hawkins Bazaar also has a web site www.hawkin.com. There are about 20 Hawkins shops around the country. I prefer to browse the30 page brochure than to trawl through the web brochure but when I decide what to buy I can put my order in on the Internet or send of the order form from the catalogue. So what delights can you buy from Hawkins? Toys and novelties. Some are modern, some traditional they are all priced fairly cheaply and make good stocking fillers. There is a section of toys for under£1 a section for toys under£5 other things are more highly priced. These toys are...

Review of Hawkin's Bazaar

"Misir Bazaar" & "Kapalicarşi"

Advantages: many
Disadvantages: none

...In the countries of North Africa and Middle East the destination most preferred by tourists is represented by the local small markets called "souk". These markets are usually located in a particular area of the cities and, usually, include many hundreds of small shops in alleys sometimes stinky. The shops are full of any type of goods that are displayed in a chaotic way. The price must negotiated time by time and the final one depends from your capacity of negotiation. In Istanbul this type of market is called "Bazaar" and takes place in a building constructed specifically to receive shops and stalls. In Istanbul there are two "Bazaar". The first one is called "Kapalicarşi" or "Grand Bazaar" and it is the mostly known and patronized by international tourists. "Misir Bazaar" also known as "Bazaar of Spices" is the other one...

Review of Grand Bazaar (Istanbul)

Very Friendly Harpers

Advantages: well-priced, very friendly, good for the social side
Disadvantages: chatty atmosphere can be distracting, not much variety of resistance machines

...I've been a member of Harpers now for about 4 years and after having read the other opinions, I thought I'd offer my opinion from a young lads perspective. The first thing that strikes you about Harpers is how socially active they are and how nice the atmosphere is. I've been to a few in the region and they're all the same. It's definately a gym to go to if you enjoy the social side of it and Harpers regularly have nights out or social events encouraging everyone to come along. Harpers also have good equipment, well-trained staff (if not a little young) and good schemes like Harpers Dollars, where you accumulate credits to get discounts at stores and sports clubs etc. You can also get vouchers through various means which enable you to get money off your membership fees. Harpers also have aerobics and other high intensity workouts...

Ben Harper - Genius!

Advantages: Brilliant Music!
Disadvantages: None

...Track listing 1. With My Own Two Hands 2. When It's Good 3. Diamonds On The Inside 4. Touch From Your Lust 5. When She Believes 6. Brown Eyed Blues 7. Bring The Funk 8. Everything 9. Amen Omen 10. Temporary Remedy 11. So High So Low 12. Blessed To Be A Witness 13. Picture Of Jesus 14. She's Only Happy In The Sun This is another great work from the delectable Ben Harper, who has to be one of the most blessed musicians and songwriters of our time. He has treated us to one of his most eclectic mixes with Diamonds on the Inside. This album is full of something for just about everybody. It jumps straight into the uplifting, "With My Own Two Hands" a classic reggae track.. "When It's Good" has the Southern feel of classic acoustic blues. "Amen, Omen" is my favourite track, sends tingles through me when I hear it. "Brown...

Review of Diamonds On The Inside [Digipak] - Ben Harper

Happy Harpers

Advantages: Easy to join, staff helpful, good classes, wide range of machines
Disadvantages: As it is at a Leisure centre, there are hundreds of kids in holiday times

...I have been a member of my local Harper's Fitness club for about a year now, and i really have nothing bad to say about either the staff or the facilities. Since I joined, I have changed my programme a few times, and the staff are always ready and willing to help. The induction is the worst bit, but that is everywhere, it's a bit less daunting than anywhere else I have tried. The only fault as I mentioned was the kids in the school holidays, but they're not so bad either, it is an advantage to mothers as they have a well run creche too. The fact that it is run at a leisure centre gives the added advantage of swimming, squash, tennis, football, sauna and steam, sunbeds and a good sized bar along with many other facilities all included in the package. There is a really good atmosphere in the gym, with satellite television music...

Have a hoot at Hawkins

Advantages: Fun, Bright & Bubbly atmosphere
Disadvantages: Rude/Moaning Customers, Gets VERY busy!

...This review is based on a Christmas Temp Sales Advisor position. ***ABOUT HAWKINS BAZAAR*** Hawkin's offer a uniqur range of toys, gadgets and gifts for children and afults of all ages. Hawkins have a lot of, out of the ordinary products and also offer a different range of toys and gifts for young children and adults. Hawkins Bazaar started off as a mail order company in 1973, but due to the succes off this they now have a large chain of shops across the high street. You can also buy from their website as well. ***APPLYING FOR THE JOB/INTERVIEW*** It was quite handy as I was un-employed and was desperate to get a job and I knew the assistant manager of the store where I wanted to work, so I had a very brief interview as I had worked with her before. I just sat down with the manager and went through a few things with him...
