Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Review of Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix DVD by  Bex727

Advantages: Highly entertaining
Disadvantages: Why can't it be a four hour film???

...Wow - what can I say. I didn't think they could condense this book down cause so much happens but they have managed to do it without losing the best bits! Although I would say I could have watched this for another three hours and still wouldn't have got bored! This story needs no explaining. But if you haven't read the book and only seen the films then you will not be dissapointed. Harry is once again an outcast at school, as only very few people believe him in that Voldemort is back! The Ministry is telling everyone that he isn't and so everyone believes it. Hogwart's is also being taken over by the Ministry and sees all teaching of spells banned. This is where we see the introduction of Dumbledore's Army. The adults in Harry's world have meanwhile have regrouped hte Order of the Phoenix and so Harry isn't completely on his own... Read review

It felt like a race
Review of Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix DVD by  grafter123

Advantages: Good characters, story, special effects and filming. Exciting
Disadvantages: Lacked a certain something

...*********************** NO SPOILERS ******************************** As an ardent Harry Potter fan you would think that I would have already seen Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at the cinema. However for one reason or another I never quite made it to the cinema. The DVD was released to the public this week, on Monday 12th November, and, despite hoping to purchase it immediately, I did not manage to view this film until yesterday evening. Instead of buying the DVD we hired it from Blockbusters for a special price of £3 for a whole week. Brilliant I thought, seven nights when I can watch this film till my heart's content. Hm, well so I thought. BACKGROUND ********************* Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is taken from the fifth book in J K Rowlings seven book Harry Potter tale. The book was the largest to date... Read review

Advantages: They Blog for Potter
Disadvantages: Nope the url is fine

...and the Chamber of secrets' and various pictures. The leaky cauldron is also one of the main Potter sites that has pictures and news of the latest Harry Potter film,(Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) which is currently in progress and will not be released untill 2004. It was this site that first revealed who would be playing the major roles in the third Potter film. I found out that Mr Love God, Im sorry I mean Gary Oldman, will be playing Harry's Uncle 'Sirius Black' and they even showed photographs of Mr Oldman in costume! The site has also revealed the extras currently being offered on the DVD of 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets', which will be released on the 11th April 2003. On the left hand side of the page is a menu bar, where you can look at archived gossip, read interviews with the cast of the films and contribute... Read review

A magic of it's own
Review of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - J.K. Rowling by  DJ_Rock

Advantages: Im addicted, superb story
Disadvantages: It took me too long to realise

...HARRY POTTER WAS THE INVENTION OF A GENIUS. SCOTLAND HAS PRODUCED TELEPHONES, TELEVISIONS BUT NONE AS EXCITING AS HARRY POTTER. I LIKE TO BE INDIVIDUAL AND NEVER LET MYSELF FOLLOW THE CROWDS IN WORSHIPING A NEW PHASE. HARRY POTTER WAS NO DIFFERENT… When I was at School and everyone would be discussing the adventures of Harry, I turned away and thought, easily pleased. I told everyone to shut up, and laughed at the television when I saw the fuss people made when new books were being released. Last night I had a dream, I was at the front of the queue for, Harry PotterOrder of the Phoenix. My opinions have changed. Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone was released on VHS/DVD and my little brother bought it. I was partially intrigued, and so I watched it. It was the very first time I had taken time for Harry, and I... Read review

Wow, How I Wish I Could Do Magic!!!
Review of Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix DVD by  scotlandizdabest

Advantages: Fantastic, HD, Incredible Effects, Brilliant Acting, Everything!
Disadvantages: Misses out a lot from the book

...**THERE ARE NO SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW What Is It? Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the long awaited DVD/Blue Ray/HD movie released on the 11th of November 2007. I am reviewing the Blue-Ray version and not the DVD/HD version that may slightly differ. This is Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts in JK Rowling's highly successful series of books. Blue Ray I didn't know much about Blue Ray until my brother got a PS3 and a new TV but it actually, in some respects, it's the next generation of viewing films. You need a Blue Ray player (which will also take DVD's) or a PS3 that a lot of people are doing. Basically having a blue-ray disc is a higher quality and sound than a DVD. I think it does improve the standard of watching. Blue Ray discs tend to be more expensive though, as they need more work by the lovely people... Read review

The best Harry Potter Film to date!
Review of Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix DVD by  Angelicdevil86

Advantages: Brilliant new characters, enjoyable film, darkest one yet
Disadvantages: Some subplots missed out,not the best ending, fans of book may not like it

...I have just received a copy of this DVD having ordering it on Play.com for £14.99.I hadn't got around to seeing it in the Cinema,so this is the first time I have watched it. Most magazine reviews I have read about this film have been raving about this it but also calling it "the darkest" yet of the Harry Potter films. I have to agree,as it has a very dark feel to it. In my opinion it is the best of the Harry Potter films that have been so far but not everyone would agree. If you have read the book, you may notice some of the subplots have been lost, which can be a disappointment but if not you will probably incredibly enjoy the whole film. All the major events are still included though including the 'wizard war' which takes place in the Ministry of Magic. It also includes the introduction of new characters including the extremely... Is Harry Potter what he used to be?
Review of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (DVD) by  Amy69

Advantages: Luna - a brilliant new character!
Disadvantages: Not explained clearly, War is a bit dull

...’, and became well known as the heroic and talented young wizard, as well as being the Gryffindor Seeker in Quiddich! Harry Potter really was the boy who lived. ***** Now in his fifth year at Hogwarts, Harry has had many encounters with Lord Voldemort in his past four years at the school. He was after the stone in The Philosophers Stone, he was in the form of Tom Riddle in The Chamber Of Secrets, and he was face to face in battle with young Mr Potter in The Goblet Of Fire. Now, taken from the novel, The Order Of The Phoenix, written by J. K Rowling, we find Lord Voldemort messing with Harry’s mind, and he’s not giving up. Right from the beginning of the film, Harry is in trouble. He receives a letter from the Ministry Of Magic, announcing that he has been expelled from Hogwarts, after using magic out with school grounds, and in the presence... Read review

The Wonderful Musical World Of Harry!
Review of Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix - Chamber Orchestra Of London by  hypnoticstate

Advantages: Is a beautiful Album
Disadvantages: Different track order to film. not really a disadvantage though.

...Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix was a great new addition to this awesome franchise complete with great story, visual effects, acting and of course, soundtrack. A soundtrack can, in my opinion, make or break a film. You could have visually made the best film in the world but give it music that just doesn't "work" and it all comes crashing down. Luckily, every Harry Potter soundtrack to date has not failed to impress and now, thanks to its composer Nicholas Hooper, the OOTP soundtrack can be added as another achievement in bringing Harry's world to life! In my view, the most beautiful music to be in the HP films yet can be heard on this OST. The music is inspirational and well reflects the events and emotions that take place in the OOTP story. Nicholas Hooper has done an outstanding job and I hope to hear more of his music... Read review

Harry Potter and the blah blah blah!
Review of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (DVD) by  mushtaqquraishi

Advantages: Good acting and great selection of events included
Disadvantages: tedious, special effects, dull

...After all the hype surrounding the Harry Potter series, this was waiting to happen. Due to the high standards set by the author and her wonderful books, the films themselves are blockbusters before they come out, however they do not seem to live up to their expectations. All the films so far, including this one, have been average compared to their books. But it is this film, the Order of the Phoenix which has really proved its faults, compared to the excellent book. Of course it is no fault of the makers of this film, that the fifth book was the least exciting of the lot; however there are no excuses for making the film seem so much less exciting than the book. This film is about the dark side to life for Harry, unlike the colourful, cheerful atmosphere of the previous films. Unfortunately, due to time, this film only includes the best... Read review
