White Hart Hotel in Lincoln

Advantages: Close to Historical Landmarks, Friendly Staff, Good Rooms, Stylish
Disadvantages: Expensive Breakfast, Some parts need Refurbishment

...I am writing his review from my White Hart hotel room and in my opinion this is quite an above average hotel. I arrived here with my family (Mum and Dad) yesterday. It was pretty easy to find and get here from Leeds where we spent the day out, just off the A15, but in the next 2 hours when we check out we will be taking the A46 to return home (Reading). The hotel provides their own parking just round the side of the hotel, with a small bay which cars strictly shouldn't stay in at all, but seems to be used by taxis to drop people off. Upon arrival we were greeted by very pleasant reception staff who knew a lot about the local area. Asking about local restaurants they informed us about the various Italian, Mexican, Thai, Chinese, English Pubs and all about the restaurant they have which was very helpful. The most attractive hotel in Kingston

Advantages: nice rooms, great bar and restaurant
Disadvantages: quite pricey

...The white hart hotel is situated opposite Kingston bridge on the Hampton wick side of the river. The hotel opened in 2001 and is said to be 'the most attractive hotel in the Kinston area,' although it was only rated three stars by the English regional tourist board. From what I made of the hotel when I stayed there I would rate it at four stars. The rooms are furnished in an old style but to a high standard, there is a lovely secluded courtyard area at the rear of the hotel and there is free parking for guests. The car park is also situated at the rear of the hotel and is barrier operated, so you're car is relatively safe. At the front of the hotel there is a pub and restaurant, which is open daily both to guests and non-guests. These are traditional in style and offer some nice drinks and have an excellent food menu. ...I must say that I was surprised to discover that no one had reviewed Hart's Hotel, Nottingham. A local girl, I have heard a great deal of good things about the hotel over the last couple of years and have harboured a desire to stay there for quite some times. So recently, thanks to a superb special offer ran by the hotel, I finally achieved my aim and stayed at Hart's for one night. Now i'm afraid i must admit to the decadence of this decision - I live in Nottingham and therefore staying at a hotel isn't really necessary! ...Mrs B and I met in Lincoln many moons ago when we were just 18 and so it holds many happy memories and we decided to celebrate one of our anniversaries by returning to Lincoln and treating ourselves by staying in the infamous White Hart Hotel. All the time that we used to live in Lincoln this hotel was well known for it's so-called excellence and you had to be 'somebody' to be able to afford to stay there so when it came to our anniversary we thought we would really splash out and have a luxurious weekend in this hotel. ...This hotel is in an excellent location which is why they can charge the prices they do. The hotel is steeped in history and you can tell just by looking at the building of it's age and the stories it could tell if it could. Lincoln is a great place to visit and it's main tourist area is the Steep Hill area of the city. It is called Steep Hill for a reason- it is very steep! There are lots of little tea rooms, gift shops and an award winning restaurant or two in this location. Right in the heart of this is the cathedral and the castle and a stone's throw from them? The Whit Hart hotel. The White Hart was built in the 14th century as a coaching inn and since then has grown and become a very well known hotel with customers coming back year after year. ...Despite living in Lincoln, I have only the one experience of the White Hart. My cricket club had it's annual presentation dinner there last year. Location Set in the beautiful, historic uphill Bailgate area in the city centre, The White Hart is in the shadow of the magnificent Lincoln Cathedral. This means it is in the upmarket area of the city, meaning that the prices are higher than if it were elsewhere in the city. Prices It has to be said that the prices are high. We paid £27 for the ticket and this included a 3 course meal and nothing else. At the bar before I bought a round of drinks (two pints of lager and a large glass of white) and it came to a shade over £10. This, to me is quite expensive.
