...Forget the tacky image - Harvesters are great! As someone who enjoys good meals in expensive restauants for special occasions, I have to admit that you can't beat the Harvester for a spur of the moment "Lets go out for dinner tonight" idea. Ok - the food may not be absolutely fresh (more likely to be frozen chips etc), but the salad carte is a healthy and popular option, with a fair amount of choice. The menu has a variety of meats, pasta, fish and veggie selections. They even provide slimmers with a guide to calories or points for certain dishes! Portions are quite generous and in my experience the service is always very good. Look out for the special offers - Lunch for a fiver, and the EarlyBird (one third off your bill) for excellent savings. Not the prices are unreasonable at ant time. Disadvantages: Overcooked food. No lamb, ribs or peas

...Myself and two friends called in on the 15th May 2005 at about 20.30 and were shown to table 10. One friend asked for the ribs and were told that they were out of ribs. He ordered a sirloin steak. The other friend ordered lamb and again they were out of stock so he also ordered sirloin steak. They were then advised that they were also out of peas. The cushions on the chairs were dirty and stained. The meals arrived and my gammon steak was not to bad at all but my friends sirloin steaks were overcooked (we did say well done, but not that well done) and dry, plus the chips were barely warm. One friend asked for tomato ketchup which was brought in a bowl with ketchup running down the outside of the bowl. ...For fans of the Harvest Moon series or little kids, this game's cute chibi look should instantly draw them in. The cover's vivid colors and adorable characters were made for attracting small children. The game starts with the Harvest Goddess asking you for your name, birthday, pet names, and farm name. After you fill in all that information, the game takes you to the beach, where the Harvest Goddess and Witch Princess are fighting in the classic RPG way where the characters come close to each other, shake a bit, and come apart again. After the Witch Princess accidentally petrifies the Goddess and sends her to another world, you come in. After many boring and tedious scenes you finally start the actual game. ...Okay, so it's not exactly Autumn, but who cares? Despite its name, this is a drink to be enjoyed all year round. Harvest Coffee is so yummy, and so easy to make. You know how to make a cup of coffee, right? Well, all you do is... = Get your favourite mug. = Add a teaspoon of coffee. = Add a little bit of pure apple juice. = Mix it around. = Add boiling water. = Sit back and enjoy! Mmmmm.... ...UPDATE 20-01-01 : I wrote this article weeks ago (over Christmas). As there wasn't a category for HitHarvester, it has been with Ciao, waiting for a new category. I included a bit on the bottom with my referral ID, which I now know is not done on Ciao, so I have removed it. HitHarvester is down at the moment, they are having trouble with their ISP. --------------------------------------------------------------- I happened upon Hit Harvester a few months ago, while using ClickThru (another "increase your web site's hits" program). ...Been a while since we took the family to Harvester, but it was much much better than the last time we visited. The one in Bracknell had just been refitted and they've got rid of all the old farmyard stuff and it felt much much cleaner and brighter.. Food quality was much better, salad bar well-stocked, staff friendly and the menu meant that we could all eat something we wanted...I'm on Atkins diet for my sins and it was easy, whereas him indoors wanted a blow-out steak. Even the kid's were happy with the choice and there were choices other than sausage and chips. It's a chained restaurant, so its not going to have any Michellin stars, but then again neither are the prices. ...Well I had a rare night out with the partner last night, we went to Harvesters near us, now I had never been before and I guess my perception was that it would be totally ran down with bad service and just good old roasts, However it was a nice experaince, on arriving we where greeted by a very friendly waitress (eventhough she was busy nothing was to much trouble) . The menu didnt have an overwheling choice , however what we did have was well presented and a good size, "The Cajun Big One" A large piece of cajun chicken on a bun with fries and salad, I was very impressed for the Money £5.99 ish (with the 1/3 deal ), "Harvester Bugger" my otherhalf had this, (he is the biggest food critic going as he spent 10 years in the catering sector) even he was presented suprised by the standard of food and for the money he could... ...Harvest Moon is all about this boy who's grandfather left hinm his old broken down farm and the little boy has to fight to keep it alive. In it you have to buy animals and sow seeds and then sell them. You have to fix up the farm and get it up and running again. This game can be very addictive but that is the good thing because you really can't put it down because it is that good. It may seem boring but it actually surprisingly good and fun. This was one of the first ever gameboy colour games and they made a really good job of it!... Read review

...Have you been to a Harvester before? I'm well sick of that question by noiw as I think I've been to more Harvester restaurants in more parts of the UK than just about anyone else - from Ottershaw in Surrey to the odd one up North, although they're mainly a phenomenon of the deep South. It's one of the major things I miss since I moved back to the Grim Country in the mid 1980's. The Harvester is quite simple fare, but it's normally well cooked substantial food and it's just right if you're Mr Piggy with the obligatory unlimited visits to the salad bar to fill out on. If you don't like steak or chicken, you may find the main course a bit drab, but my favourite bits are that salad bar (what? really?), the starters and the sweets, well all of it I guess.
