...The Horrid Henry collection of stories is currently the subject of 17 books written for children aged between 6 and 11. The author of these books is Francesca Simon and the subject for the stories, a boy called Henry. As you can probably guess from the title of the collection Henry is a horrid child whereas his brother Peter is perfect. Henry's mum and dad sincerely wish that Henry was like Peter but we don't because then there wouldn't be any fantastic antics from Simon to right her books about. Horrid Henry's Haunted House is book number 6 and was published in 1998. The book contains four stories entitled, Horrid Henry and the Comfy Black Chair, Horrid Henry's Haunted House, Horrid Henry's School Fair and Horrid Henry Minds his Manners. Each story is roughly 20 pages in length and so is more than manageable for children...

Movies For Halloween - The Haunting

Advantages: Complex, intelligent, layered, endlessly rewarding...
Disadvantages: Jan de Bont saw it one time. No good came of that.

A haunted book

...'Haunts in the House'. Each book in the range has its own attractive cover and this one in particular can be recognised by its deep golden brown colour and its orange Sabrina logo. It's glitterly border makes it look quite sparkly too. On the front you can see a piture of Melissa Joan Hart as Sabrina, dressed up as a witch. Now despite what you may expect, the very rarely wears witch like clothing so this did give me the impression that this was going to be quite a creepy story. Though would I be right? Only time would tell... The plot itself tells us of another of Sabrina's antics. Sabrina decides to have a Halloween fundraiser in her Aunt's house with the help of the Other Realm. But when Salem, being himself, angers the creatures from the Other Realm who are helping out, they decide to take revenge my stirring things up at the fundraiser...

Review of Haunts in the House (Sabrina The Teenage Witch) - John Vornholt

Most Haunted - the truth.... *UPDATED*

Advantages: Its entertaining, can occasionally give ideas as to venues in which to conduct investigations, often hilariously funny and occasionally, just occasionally, they capture something interesting!
Disadvantages: Don't show the REAL side to paranormal investigations, the team are too quick to jump to conclusions, I could go on... read review!

...This review has pretty much been COMPLETELY re-written so if you have previously read and rated this review, please read through it again. I originally wrote an opinion about this programme just as the second series had started. Since then, my opinion has changed quite a bit so I thought it was about time I updated this review. I originally gave it 5/5 stars and said it was one of my all-time favourite programmes (along with Vets in Practise, before that came to an end!) Most Haunted is now about to embark on its fifth series. It is aired on Living TV (otherwise known as UKLiving) which can be picked up on Sky and I believe you can also get it on Digital. Haunted House on a Hill

Advantages: Brilliant for its time and today
Disadvantages: Rather short, Only 71 minutes

...House on Haunted Hill was made in 1959 by William Castle a prolific director of horror films including the original Rosemary's Daughter and 13 Ghosts. American Haunting, and no sign of Derek Accorah!

Advantages: Some genuinely scary moments.
Disadvantages: Horror fans will feel let down.

..."American Haunting" begins in the present day, with a terrified young girl being pursued through snowy woodland - the subject of her fear is unknown. She stumbles, but quickly returns to her feet and continues running towards her house. As she reaches it, she runs upstairs into her bedroom, slamming and locking the door behind her. The door violently shakes, and the door handle twists rapidly as the mysterious horror that lurks behind the door desperately tries to get into the room. After some initial shocks and jumps, the scene changes to the girl's mother, who is reading a journal that her daughter found in the attic. ...I read this one after The Ghosts of Sleath which features the same central character, this is a physic investigator called David Ash. This book however is actually the first featuring this character and as such I read them in the wrong order, this however wasn’t detrimental to the story but it did have a bearing on my expectations. As I had thoroughly enjoyed “The Ghosts of Sleath” I probably approached this book expecting more of the same, unfortunately it didn’t live up to these expectations, perhaps if I’d read it first that might have been different. Anyway, back to the story. Ash is a strong character who claims that there is no such thing as the “unexplained” and sets out to prove it with a truly cynical attitude. a fun haunted movie

Advantages: very good film if you see it once
Disadvantages: your perspection of it drops if you see it more than once

...the entire Evers family - with the help of supernatural psychic Madame Leota - must survive an unruly houseful of spirits and strange going-on in a hilarious battle to break the mansion's curse before the clock strikes 13. I laughed soooooooo much when I saw this at the cinema, but to be honest I was really laughing about the fact that someone thought it was "School of Rock", anyway I think once you see it once, that's enough, as if you watch it a second time then you'll end up not liking it, like I did. The special features, I have not watched (as expected, but I personally think they do sound really good, and once I have caught up with my reviews maybe I'll start watching the special features! Haunted Funnymoon

...Haunted Honey moon is a comedy written/directed by and starring Gene Wilder. The cast also includes Gilda Radner, Dom Deluise, Jonathan Pryce and Jim Carter. The story revolves around 1930s radio actor Larry Abbot (Wilder) and his fiancée Vickie Pearle (Radner), who visit Abbot's childhood home for the wedding. However, Abbot grew up in a spooky old castle, surrounded by his wacky relatives. The most eccentric of all being his aunt Kate (Deluise).
