Haven SeaView Holiday Park in Weymouth

...Seaview holiday park in Weymouth belongs to the Haven chain of resorts. As a child I spent every year at Butlins ( which coincidently are Havens big brother , owned by the same company ). However as an adult when I've been looking around for somewhere to take my own children ( I have four of them for my sins! ) Joseph who's 14 , Declan who's 12 , Caitlin who's 10 and 6 month old Jessica , I've found Butlins just too pricey. Haven have been a grand alternative. You don't have Red Coats here , you have 'Fun Stars' the staff are overwhelmingly helpful and manage to walk around with a constant smile on their faces. Weymouth is a beautiful seaside town with a fantastic beach and a well equipt town center. Situated in Dorset there is plenty to offer outside of the resort which is walking distance from town. Haven holidays, hafan y mor or less, wales inc disabled family.

Advantages: have disabled accessible caravans.
Disadvantages: expensive. poor activity opening hours. non accessible beach. poor car parking.

...I have experienced various haven parks over the years and although never wonderful compared to similar holiday parks abroad for family holiday they still offer accomodation for families with 4/5 kids and disabled parents. This year we decided the best of them may be hafan y mor in wales, possibly because we have to travel from N Ireland and its handy to holyhead port. Reservations As we needed disabled accessible accomodation we have to ring to reserve and therefore miss out on a lot of the discounts the normal person avails of. the designated disabled officer was very pleasant and helpful and did select a good site location given the options and did return our calls as promised. Advantages: everything you want from a Holiday
Disadvantages: I dont go enough

Haven Rockley Park, Poole

Advantages: A lovely place for a short family break
Disadvantages: Our caravan was a long way from reception

...Overview We booked this family break last September, and whilst it has seemed a long time coming, was well worth the wait? This holiday is no center parcs break, but can be as relaxing, and as planned or as relaxed as required. There are things to keep all the family involved, heavily involved around sports, kids clubs/story time, a very packed arcade, and swimming pool area. The Caravan This is the second Haven site we?ve visited, and booking early meant we got a large 3 bedroom static caravan, one double room, and two twin rooms for £ 249.00 for 3 nights (Friday thru til Monday). I was planning to use Tesco vouchers to pay part of the bill, but be aware if you use the book early discount they cant be combined! Haven Holiday Park - Wild Duck

Advantages: There is camping/caravaning facilities
Disadvantages: Our tent was quite away from the toilets, not good at night

...Myself and my family went on holiday last September to Haven Holiday Park - Wild Duck. Which is located about approx 10-15 miles away from Great Yarmouth. This not not one of the big Havens, but is a very friendly and had everything we wanted. We did not stay in one of their holiday homes or chalets we went camping in our tent. As we were going just as the school holidays had finished, the 1st week in September, we were only charged £23 for 5 nights. This price included fun passes for the whole family so we were able to enjoy all the facilities on the park. The children were able to join in with activities in the mornings, which included painting, drawing and general childrens games. There is 2 swimmming pools on site, an indoors one and an outdoors pool. The outdoors pools was such as it was not peak season, but...

Golden Sands Haven Holiday

Advantages: Cheap as done on Sun holiday tokens
Disadvantages: Swimming pool needs updating

...We visited Haven's Golden Sands park in Mablethorpe in October 2007 as part of the Sun's £9.50 British holidays. On arrival you had to wait with everyone in their entertainment hall to be processed (given keys and maps of the site etc.), this was done very quickly and effeciently even though it looked like it could have taken for ever it was done quickly. I had a 2 year old and a 5 month old and was looking forward to all of the child friendly things. However, on our fisrt visit to the pool we discovered that their were no family changing rooms, so we had to take a child each and split up the swim bag. This was a shock as most swimming pools have either family changing areas or somewhere on the pool side to change kids, but not here. I feel an update was needed to the entire pool. The children's club put on for the younger kids...

HAVEN HOLIDAY MISERY

Advantages: Well maintained site
Disadvantages: Land fill site nearby, lot's of hidden extras, poor accommodation

...When you think of a holiday park you instantly think of Pontins, Butlins and of course Hi De Hi...... We stayed for ten days at the Haven Holiday Park at Combe Haven, Hastings at the end of June. Firstly it has to be said that a week before we went we received a letter through the post inviting us to take up an extra nights stay for £15. This was for the day before we were to start our stay. We were happy with this and accepted the offer, this was good value and we thought it was a great idea. Our entry to park The park itself is situated not far from the coastline, although 3/4's of the park couldn't see it.... but you could see the local landfill site, not something you really wanted to see though. Not Haven sent holiday - Donniford Bay

Advantages: Child friendly, kids loved it.
Disadvantages: Remote area and chalets tatty standard

...I booked online to spend a week in August at Donniford Bay, West somerset in a comfort chalet. This was in preference to a caravan as I hate the closed in feeling of a caravan. The chalet cost £670 online - peak season. I went with my 2 sons, aged 14 and 11. The site is very tucked away and I am very glad I stocked up with provisions before I went because the 'well stocked shop' fell very short of any expectations and extremely expensive! Also stocked mostly junk food. The kids loved the company of others, there was an all seasons sports pitch and they spent their entire week playing around there. It is situated above a rocky bay and can be walked along to get away from the holiday camp but not suitable for swimming. The 'comfort' chalet was very over priced - like all their accommodation in school holidays and was tatty, musty...

Haven Warmwell Holiday Review

Advantages: Centrally Located
Disadvantages: Everything has an 'extra' price

...Having stayed in many 'Holiday Parks' before and read the previous review here at Ciao, our expectations were perhaps to high for Warmwell. We booked late and had to settle for a Bronze lodge (£500 apx pr wk) which may have been the start of our problems. The site was easy enough to find and can be reached from several junctions off the A35. My first concern was that the holiday park would not allow us to book a Microwave oven in advance. We were told we would have to request a microwave on a "first come first served" basis. As we were not able to "Book in" until 4pm (and gold and silver lodge customers having been served some time earlier) there was no real chance of securing a Microwave oven so we did without. We were very disappointed with the accommodation on arrival. The lodge (189) was dirty, dusty and smelled badly...
