Haven Rockley Park, Poole
Advantages: A lovely place for a short family break
Disadvantages: Our caravan was a long way from reception
...Overview
We booked this family break last September, and whilst it has seemed a long time coming, was well worth the wait?
This holiday is no center parcs break, but can be as relaxing, and as planned or as relaxed as required.
There are things to keep all the family involved, heavily involved around sports, kids clubs/story time, a very packed arcade, and swimming pool area.
The Caravan
This is the second Haven site we?ve visited, and booking early meant we got a large 3 bedroom static caravan, one double room, and two twin rooms for £ 249.00 for 3 nights (Friday thru til Monday). I was planning to use Tesco vouchers to pay part of the bill, but be aware if you use the book early discount they cant be combined!
The caravan had a very spacious living area, with a wrap around sofa that would seat about a dozen? included...

Haven hell!!!
Advantages: none
Disadvantages: FROZEN DINNER! POT HOLES SO DEEP, YET NO LIGHTING. OVER CROWDED CAMPING AREA! HAD TO LEAVE EARLY!
...Arrived at Haven (Wild Duck) Great Yarmouth on a Tuesday morning, in September, after all the children had gone back to school.
We went to the pool the next day, and all the staff were sitting at a table playing on their mobile phones! And wouldn't let us in to the pool untill ten minutes later, when they had finished on their phones! (Haven policy states 'you will never see staff using mobile phones' of course...
We went to the restaurant, for the Wednesday night curry offer, not a good offer AT ALL! Frozen curry! Even the staff said they would not eat it!
That evening, one of our friends fell down one of the many pot holes and sprained her ankle, due to poor lighting, and the toilet blocks being a five minute walk away (in the dark!)
On our second from last night we were woken up by our camping area being crowded by other families...

Haven at Berwick
Advantages: Kids shows, nice area, nice beach, shops nearby
Disadvantages: Could be very lively/loud, prices on site.
...Having been to, and enjoyed, two previous caravan park holidays (one with Haven), we decided to book another at the end of August. There are 2 of us adults and 4 children so we booked a 3 bedroom 4 star grade caravan (linen and passes included) for £389. I booked online and it was very straightforward. We chose Berwick park as we wanted to visit Northumberland and the scenerey and castles of that area.
BERWICK PARK
Berwick Holiday Park is situated in Berwick-Upon-Tweed, Northumberland, close to the Scottish borders. Berwick is a nice market town which is fully walled and contains castle ruins. There are lots of gift and small shops, a Somerfield, Argos, Mcdonalds and Morrisons (the last 3 being a short drive on the edge of town). The park is a ten minute walk from Berwick train station and there are taxi's and mini buses running...

Haven or Hell?
Advantages: Cheap and easy
Disadvantages: Bad staff attitude, closed facilities, dishevelled chalet
...Last week we went to the Haven Holiday Park at Primrose Valley in Filey. We saved up the tokens in The Sun so all in all the holiday itself cost us about £70, which is pretty good going for 4 nights.
When we got there the problems were obvious. With it being out of season I believe they save money by cutting staffing levels and closing facilities. Rather than harping on about everything though, I'll let you read the complaint letter I sent to them today. It says it all pretty clearly I think.
Thanks for reading!
---------------------------
Dear Ms Xxxxxxx,
Many thanks for your undated, impersonal letter, which arrived this morning, welcoming us back home. If only the apology and help we received at Primrose Valley had been as timely.
Upon arrival at the park, we retrieved our keys from the reception and asked...

Haven SeaView Holiday Park in Weymouth
Advantages: Great entertainment and value for money
Disadvantages: none
...Seaview holiday park in Weymouth belongs to the Haven chain of resorts. As a child I spent every year at Butlins ( which coincidently are Havens big brother , owned by the same company ). However as an adult when I've been looking around for somewhere to take my own children ( I have four of them for my sins! ) Joseph who's 14 , Declan who's 12 , Caitlin who's 10 and 6 month old Jessica , I've found Butlins just too pricey.
Haven have been a grand alternative. You don't have Red Coats here , you have 'Fun Stars' the staff are overwhelmingly helpful and manage to walk around with a constant smile on their faces.
Weymouth is a beautiful seaside town with a fantastic beach and a well equipt town center. Situated in Dorset there is plenty to offer outside of the resort which is walking distance from town. Some of the local attractions...

4-nights at Sea View Haven, near Weymouth
Advantages: Great cost, okay camping facilities
Disadvantages: Not all that much to do, food expensive, noisy neighbours

Smugglers Haven.. 2009 Review
Advantages: cheap, good transport provided, party atmosphere
Disadvantages: users too young, unclean, lawless
...The site.
The site its self is located about 2 to 3 miles away from the centre of newquay, tucked away where you cant be found. It is not one site, the whole complex is called Travelgue, with the "roudy lot" being tucked away at the back of the site, that end being called Smugglers Haven. The front of the site has the families only section and doesnt have much in the way of exciting facilities for the general 'smugglers' user. Smugglers its self comprises of a section of static caravans and camping areas.
The Facilities.
There is a shop/off licence on site which seems pretty well equipped for most of the things you will need, dont expect the purchase price of the items on sale to reflect the 12 pound per night stay you paid to camp there mind, they take your eyes out.. a bottle of Sambucca was 19 quid!
There is a fish and chip...

A little piece of Haven!
Advantages: Cost, lots to do, location
Disadvantages: Poor evening entertainers
...I?ve always loved caravan parks, but with holiday?s abroad so cheap, it?s hard to turn down guaranteed sun sea and sand in Spain, than say rain, rain, rain and well, more rain on the South coast. One day whilst flicking through The Sun newspaper, I saw the £15 holiday deal for a 3 or 4 night stay in one of Haven?s parks. The idea of a nice break with just my better half and I sounded very appealing indeed. So we wrote down the list of 4 parks we wanted to go to, and a list of the 4 dates. Norfolk was top of our list as I have family nearby (an offer of a free meal wouldn?t go amiss!). A few weeks later we were told we had landed Haven?s Seashore site in Great Yarmouth Norfolk for the end of May/beginning of June. I couldn?t wait!
Location
Seashore is located right in the centre of Great Yarmouth, about a mile from the town (and...

Haven or Heaven
Advantages: plenty to do for all the family
Disadvantages: keep away from the amusements
...I recently went to Haven in Ayr for the weekend.
I have been nefore and the park I chose is called Craig Tara which is an all action park, this means that there is loads to do and it gets pretty busy so not recommended for a quiet break.
My hubby and I were fed up and needed a holiday so I looked them up on the website WWW.havenholidays.co.uk and found the bargain break section and phoned them up.
The salesman was very helpful but all the week long breaks were already taken. I was willing to go anywhere as long as it was an all action park but all that was left was weekends. Not wanting to travel to Scarbough just for three days we opted of the one in Ayr which is just 40 minutes from our home.
Doesn't sound like much of a break but we were just wanting to get away.
This was on the Thursday and the salesman informed us that there...

Haven it ain't
Advantages: Some caravans are clean and modern. Good bus service. Good shop. Newquay's not too far by road
Disadvantages: Some caravans are uninhabitable in my opinion. Extreme rowdyness by a minority
...When you first arrive at Smugglers Haven or Trevelgue Park as it's also called, you go to the main office and it all looks quite smart and the surrounding caravans are all clean and modern. Then they send you up the lane to the Smugglers Haven area and the contrast is vast. The first caravan we were shown to was a complete disgrace and I can only assume it was a cock up as it wasn't fit to live in for an hour let alone week. Outside was a mud bath resulting in cars getting stuck. Then there was a used condom by the main door, something splashed all down most of the windows (don't really want to know what). Inside there was filth everywhere, the seating all belonged at some fly tipping site it was that skanky. The toilet was minging (i'll say no more). All worktops were dirty, Most of the ceiling panels had been kicked in. There was no...
