...hd ready, I don't have hd sky or a blu-ray player, I'm quite impressed. There are a number of contrast settings on this so if you are watching a show that was filmed in poorer quality you can alter the settings so that it looks clearer. There are also a few audio settings which can give the sound a better feel and improve the atmospehere when watching films. I'm currently looking for a nice surround sound package to team up with this television, once I do, I think my entertainment system will be devastating. The option that I really like is that you can split the screens between two inputs. In essence, you can watch two channels at once. I've managed to get this going with my sky and the tv's built in freeview when two football matches were on but have yet attempted to do it with a dvd and another input. Large HD ready TV for less than you would think.

...of HD TVs I would be best purchasing a HDMI cable. So I went looking for one and refusing to pay more than about £15 on one spent half a day later and the last shop I eventually found one for £12. I soon got home and plugged it all together. At first it didn't all work as the TVs controls are not the most logically laid out. However upon starting a HD compatible game I was amazed to see the "720p" label displayed and moments later the games I was playing previous were almost to a level of realism I had not expected. Overall the TV is well worth the £269 price tag. A crisp picture so long as you use a HDMI cable. Sound on the TV can be a bit quiet during the day but at night when ambient noise is at a minimum it feels much louder. Venturing into the world of budget LCD televisions

Advantages: Easy to tune; clear, high quality picture, good sound
Disadvantages: None that I can see so far

Upon turning the tv on, the digital channel search facility starts up and, provided a digital signal is present, all channels should be found fairly easily. For those that do not have a digital signal, the system follows up with an automatic analogue tuner. Final Verdict..... Having never owned another HD, LCD TV, I cannot directly compare this TV with other, higher priced models. On my limited experience with LCD TVS, I would say that, in my opinion, the picture quality is on a par with many of the more expensive sets and all-in-all, the fact that this television is very easy to set up and the aesthetics are very pleasing I would recomend this TV to other people....

HD pictures without monthly subsrciptions

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, intuitive epg, easy setup

...button on the remote when an onscreen prompt appears. That said, it is a worthy addition when you compare the picture quality of football broadcasts on SD. I have noted that some people have said the box suffered from poor SD quality but in all honesty I have not had any problems. I can only put this down to the quality of TV that people are using the box with, which in my case is a Samsung LCD. You can buy the boxes for under the £149.99 RRP if you shop around. In summary if you have an existing Sky dish and want to experience HD broadcasts with no monthly subscription then I'd thoroughly recommend looking at the Foxsat HD....
