HD pictures without monthly subsrciptions

...I purchased this box initially for the Euro 2008 Matches which were shown on ITV HD as well as BBC HD. Upon opening the box, the first thing I noticed was how small the foxsat is. To give an idea I'd say it's 3/4 the size of a standard Sky digibox. The unit itself is supplied with the remote control, batteries, scart cable, component cable, and a reasonable quality HDMI cable. Connection of the box is very simple with just one connection to the satellite dish, mains plug and HDMI cable to your TV (assuming you are using a HD ready TV, which you should be if purchasing a HD receiver). After a small delay waiting for the box to boot up, the unit automatically searches for firmware updates and scans for all available channels. Large HD ready TV for less than you would think.

Advantages: Cheap, Brand name, beautfil picture
Disadvantages: Bad controller, not loud enough

...quality and good viewing angles. Things I dislike about the TV are: Annoying controller that is badly designed. Position of Ports on the back of the TV. Lack of a good range of volume. Considering all the good and bad points I would rate the TV 4 out of 5. It loosing out on the last mark due to the sound not being loud enough at times, the badly designed controller and the poorly located ports on the back. Overall if you are wanting a HD ready TV for not a lot of money, you really cannot go wrong with this one to get you started....

Advantages: Good quality reception, plenty of channels avalible
Disadvantages: Expensive, limited HD channels so far

...with it is the limted HD reception, admitedly it does look a lot better than normal digital. But it may just be the area i am in but i only have 1 dedicated HD channel. The rest have to be found by using the red button on the normal show. And even then the only HD tv seems to be football or tennis, admitedly for me it is not a bad thing. Im sure the variety can only get better though. Maybe doesn`t justify the expensive but is a solid all round freeview box....

Advantages: Superb picture quality

...After all the hype I managed to get my Dad to invest in the HD box. He phoned the good people at Sky and managed to haggle the price down to around £100 off the advertised price and then had the cheek to also ask 'what happens to the old Sky+ box - can we have it installed in the bedroom thrown in'? Gosh Sky even agreed to that - so it's well worth having a chat on the phone and seeing what Sky can do for you! The box itself is simply Sky+ with extra's. The installation is a little irritating as the engineer told us that Sky are mega-security conscious. He said we had to leave everything turned on and wait at least 4 hours for the set up to be complete. ...Got this TV in the Argos sale for £379.99. Comes with pedestal stand and wall mounting bracket. You can litterally take it from the box and it is ready to use. (Pedestal stand is already attached.) Remote control is not very good. Takes quite a while to get used to. As this was a TV for the bedroom a was not too fussed with the quality of the TV as would only mainly be used for watching DVD's, although once set up I am quite impressed. I have it hooked up through a video sender from my Sky + box downstairs and the quality of the picture is excellent. When watching DVD's I would say this is much better than most I have seen on the market. Don't have the sound up very high most of the time but when you do the quality is decent. If you were using this for you main TV then hooking it up through a surround sound system would boost...

...isn't too great but bahh its worth it... What surprised me most was the 7% salt content, I would have thought- especially with the name 'Ready Salted' they would make a HUGE dent into my daily allowance but apparently not! 132 calories isn't THAT bad either. Although you have to remember that you must take these percentage with a pinch of salt (forgive the pun) because they are in reference to an adult man's diet. The packaging for the crisps is great in my opinion- hasn't changed in years really but that's what makes the brand so iconic! With a simple picture of a potato slicing into crisps and a bright red background. What people seem to forget is how Walkers as a company has been very successful in planting the flavour V colour idea in our minds!
