...This is a must have accessory for any Playstation 3 owner. The best way to send sound and video to your TV to play in high definition is through a HDMI cable. It is the most reliable and easiest way of doing it. A test recently done on the gadget show proved that a cheap HDMI cable will work just as well as an extremely expensive one. They both do the same job and one isn't better than the other. This cable from GAME is one of the cheapest HDMI cables I have seen in the shops and so if a definate buy if you are thinking of getting one. As the Playstation 3 system does not come with a HDMI cable in the box you will probably want to buy one when you pruchase your PS3 and if you are buying it in GAME then you should definitely go for their make of the HDMI cable. Hah, who needs HDMI?

Advantages: Quality. pure and simple.
Disadvantages: No HDMI, or wall obvious wall mounting options

Once I switched it on, I was no longer disappointed. using a HDMI to DVI cable (from sainsburys, so not rare) I connected it to my xbox360 and watched a HD-DVD at 1080p. pin sharp and better than my 32". I forgot all about returning it, and remain pleased with it 2 months later. Only one complaint, no visa mounting options on the back. I think it can be done, but not using my current wall mount. Good HDMI HD DVD player

Advantages: Cheap, very good 720p upscaled image quality
Disadvantages: Some remote control problems, takes time to read certain discs

...Overall very good and cheap HDMI HD 720p upscaler DVD player. Has an attractive slim design and good build quality. The remote control is small and modern. The only snag in using it is that sometimes the menus don't react, probably the infra red sensitivity is a little less than it should be. The remote control lacks a HD upscaler and eject button. You can upgrade the firmware off of Philips's support site to remove the bugs earlier firmware releases had. Sometimes on some discs it will read them for long before it starts playing, bad disc or laser running off track? Produces remarkably good image quality of DVD's on large TV's (i.e. 50 inches or more). There's a newer version out now that supports 1080p. Overall a good/very good and cheap HDMI DVD player....

For a DVD player with HDMI (Digital) out, that is one of the more reasonable priced models on the market at the moment. The player will take a moment to recognise disks, but once it has found which format the disk is, I have found playback to be flawless. It can play normal DVDs (PAL), also DVDs from the USA (NTSC) and DIVX encoded video. Although I have not tried it, it can apparently play disks with mp3 music on them. If you need to set the unit up beyond just plugging in cables, then the basic on screen configuration is straightforward. You will need to refer to the manual for the advanced configuration of the unit (if you have a complicated or non-standard HiFi setup).
