...Many years ago I worked for National Magazines; ?She? is produced by this company. I remember how we would look forward to each issue which was distributed free to employees. ?She? always tickled my sense of humour and I can still giggle over at least one of the articles I read all those years ago. ...I would group this movie in the same adolescent genre as films such as I Know What you Did Last Summer, Scream etc, partly because it contains some of the same actors and partly because they all have generally the same theme and set up running through them. Most of the movies I could give or take but I actually really liked She?s All That and actually went to watch it twice in the cinema as I liked it so much the first time. Advantages: Great upbeat tracks with a spin on it

Advantages: Some acrobatic dance moves.
Disadvantages: The director's inability to capture the excitement of stepping.

.... Before you can say "Jack Robinson", she's back on the mean streets where she grew up, fighting for respect with those she left behind and trying to drag herself up by her boot straps. Rashid tries to give proceedings a darker urban edge than other dance movies by highlighting the threatening nature of the tower blocks where Raya lives and the antipathy towards her from her former friends. But he doesn't go far enough with this and you never feel she or any of her peers are in danger of drug addiction or sudden death as her tragic back-story would have us believe. Similarly he doesn't explore the characters' backgrounds sufficiently.
