However having owned some other brands that claim to be as good, i found that they often broke, were of poor build quality and were not as bright as the ac Tikka Head Torch. This head torch is of excellent quality, both build quality and light quality. It is easy to operate and its 4 LED's provide bright light where ever it is needed. It is also extremely robust, being weather proof and tough. The LED's also emit light on a frequency that does not interfere with any night vision equipment which is a great feature for anyone in the Military. The flip down red screen helps you keep your night vision without blinding you which is a great feature. A great torch....

One of the best all-round head torches

Advantages: extremely bright, battery warning light, relatively light
Disadvantages: rather expesive, does have a larger battery pack than other models

...I bought this head torch for a round the world tour this year and it held up wonderfully. At first it seems a very expensive product and in many respects it is - you are lucky to get it for less than $100 or 50 quid. However within a few weeks of using it you realise its worth. Unlike previous head - torches i have owned this one came with a separate battery back, containing 3 AA batteries, which is connected to the strap and sits at the back of your head. At first i thought that this would be cumbersome and annoying but in fact, when wearing it, you don't even realise it is there. Apart from the the 2 possible negative aspects of price and the battery pack , listed above, i really cannot think of any other downsides, however the advantages are numerous as i will detial below: 1. Review of Torch - Lin Anderson

PS3 slim

Advantages: Blu-ray, free online, nice extras like vidzone & iplayer. Almost silent operation
Disadvantages: Rubbish controller, still expensive, online nowhere near as good as xbox live

...Well, had the slim for a few weeks now (my 1st ever playstation), personally, I'm a little underwhelmed by it, I've been a gamer since the nintendo game & watch days & owned @ least 1 of the current gen consoles since the Mega Drive(Genesis). Graphically the system has the potential to wipe the floor with the 360, but this is really only going to apply to PS3 exclusives as any software house making a multi-platform game is going to be as cost effective (lazy) as possible & use the same graphics on all the games where possible(ok, they need to dumb them down for the Wii). My problem here is that I have yet to get a game for it that runs in 1080P, they all seem to be in 720P! Why???? I'm sure they are out there, but I haven't found one yet. I guess this is down to most HD tv's being HD ready rather than Full HD. Sound-Yeah, ok...

PS3 Full of stuff

Advantages: great selection of accessories, games, films, music
Disadvantages: bit pricey

...The 60gb version is a bit on the expensive side, I'm not sure if there's a separate hard drive available but if there is I'm sure it won't cost over £150, which is how much more this version costs over the 30gb version. The graphics are the best of any console out, the games can also be much much bigger than Xbox 360 as it uses high def blue ray disks where the 360 uses standard dvds for its games. There's a massive array of accessories and 3rd party companies are making even more as it's usb connected. There's no need for memory cards because of the huge hard drive, online gaming is quick and easy as it's very easy to connect to your normal broadband connector. The console itself is a little bigger than i would have liked but no inch is wasted, it's packed full of features. I've had mine 4 months and I'm still finding new...

Advantages: Cheap Blu-Ray player, great graphics, free wifi, internet browser

...There are probably 3 categories of consumer: (1) Gamers with a HD TV who are also quite interested in the multimedia/blue ray angle. (2) Serious gamers either without a HD TV or who are not interested in high def for films etc.. (3) HD TV/ multimedia people who are not that interested in games. If you are in (1) or (3) categories then this is a bargain at the moment. One of the cheapest/best blue ray players with constant support. Now upscales dvds and supports divx etc.. Supports the very latest version of blu ray and is future proof. Sony can not afford to have this fail and the constant updates are great and frequent. Also of advantage (over other systems) are: Low failure rate, built in wifi (even on 40 gb model), no external plug, no external hd-dvd (blu ray built in), no annual online fees. PS3 Sixaxis Controller

Advantages: Battery Life / Charge Times ; Nice Size

...I don't think there's that much that can be said about this specific product...it's a controller. However, I'll give an account of my experiences of this controller over the past two years. I got two of these sixaxis controllers free with my PS3 so was able to rotate between using one and charging the other, hopefully allowing me to prolong the usability of the contollers. Unfortunately, after about a year and a half ( and many hours of use, 200+ ) the left analogue stick on both controllers began to squeak and stick. I'm pretty sure the analogue bashing involved in Beijing Olympics contributed highly to this. The main disadvantages of this for me is when I'm playing Call of Duty and I'm hiding behind an object and without realising have begun slowly moving out into the open.
