...This is an update of the original review and the response I have had from the Manufacturer as a result of my complaints: - Original Review ****************** I had a choice for the same price (£15) between this and a LED (light emitting diode) light, the reason I went for the halogen bulb is that I cycle down a lot of poorly lit areas and need something that throws out a beam. LED lights despite being brighter are not as good as a halogen lamp, at emitting a beam. If you are cycling down main roads all the time then I recommend a LED light, as they are considerably More Visible. The beam is very good and I had no complaints about that. The design is very stylish and the bracket is easy to fit, and once fitted can be adjusted along the horizontal plane with ease. The quick release mechanism on the bracket is also superb...

Firstly, the bulbs are more properly called lamps, bulbs are the things that grow in the garden. Review of Birchwood 60W GLS Bulbs

Disadvantages: Nothing major.

...JML seem to have been hitting the headlines lately with the Ped egg, well I have never tried a Ped Egg but I can vouch for the JML Stick up bulb. We have a large store in a neighbouring town called `Home Bargains` and in that store you can find all sorts of gadgets and gimmicks, some far better than others but at least it is fun trying them all out. We went in to buy a small step stool and came out with a stick up light bulb, so that wasn't bad was it ? The JML stick up light bulb is in fact a very good idea, that is not to say that there are some areas where there is still room for improvement. The Stick up bulb cost us £7.99 and we bought it to use in our garden shed, if we need to go down to the shed when it is darker then it is normally a two man job, one holds the torch while the other one sorts through the mountains of stuff...

...Until last Christmas when I received the Fresh Air Globe as a present, I had never really been a great fan of JML nor, in fact, was I aware of just how many items they make. The StickUp Bulb is one such item, and I believe one of their newest as I first received information via their website newsletter. Since then however, it has been advertised to some extent on television. At first I will admit that I didn't consider the item as I had seen this type of thing previously - that is, until I found a use for it, then suddenly it seemed to be exactly what I had been looking for. ...Who in their right minds would write a review of light bulbs? Well, to judge from my researches on Ciao, very few. In fact the only bulbs I found here were the sort you plant in the ground. So maybe I am mentally challenged but recently I have been doing a little research into the longevity of these everyday necessities! Maybe readers will feel my conclusions are worth sharing. ...The latest addition to my gardening library is The bulb expert by DR Hessayon . I managed to buy it for £1.99 which I'm pleased about as the cover price is £5.99 . This is a book first published in 1995 so it is not the latest in the long line of "expert " books but it is one of the best in my view. The book has 128 pages and is full colour throughout like other expert books. The book starts off with an interesting short chapter on the history of bulbs mentioning Tulipmania that well known craze that hit Holland in the 17th Century.This chapter also tells us when the first sightings in Britain were of certain bulbs etc which I found interesting. The book looks at all forms of bulbs not just "true " bulbs . By other forms of bulb I mean tubers , corms , rhizomes etc which are not strictly speaking bulbs at all . The book then...
