Newcastle's hidden clubbing gem

...World Headquarters (or World HQ as it is locally known) is the only club in the city which relies entirely on word of mouth to advertise. Due to this there is a edgy, underground allure to the club. The club often has long queues outside, but people are never crammed in and it is one of the more 'comfotrable' clubs to be in. It is hidden behind the old bus station, with a very reasonable, slightly trendy but very comfy pub opposite for pre-entry drinks. World HQ is effortlessly cool, there is nothing special about the interior to make it have the kind of atmosphere it eludes. There is a quieter area downstairs, with sofas, a bar, a pool table and decent lighting. There is also a cloakroom. very superstitious!!

Advantages: Chilled, laid back and funky!
Disadvantages: dark, a bit tatty but thats all

...For someone who isn't keen on the mainstream cheesy rubbish that you get at other night clubs, World Headquarters is a great alternative! For some of the cooler kids, Worldheadquarters caters for those with a bit of style, taste and who know what they like! The place definitely has a more chilled and friendly vibe to most other clubs and is much more laid back. The music is great to dance to and the drinks are dead cheap too! There are however one or two niggles that spoil the place. Firstly, the door policy can be somewhat sexist...if you're with a group of (male) friends, id go in one at a time with a few minute gap in between as groupd of lads dont seem to be welcome...much easier to go in tow with a few girls but either way, unless there is a long queue...keep it in pairs if you don't want to avoid dissapointment. No slip shod slap dash sloppy sat nav . . .

Advantages: So simple to use.
Disadvantages: Easy target for thieves.

As for its limitations, there are very few, I could say it does not "do" Bluetooth, but that would really be pedantic, I could argue that the battery life should be more, but in reality, these devices are always on charge. The marketing seems to be copied from TomTom, came to think of it they do "My Garmin" and the other one does "My TomTom" and I have no idea who was first. I can recommend both of these, and I just hope I am not asked to choose between the two. Perhaps I should update my TomTom review, and perhaps I would actually advocate going for the Garmin. Lords of the Mafia - Japanese Yakuza

Advantages: An insight into the origin and goings on in the Japanese Yakuza
Disadvantages: Too short and too basic

...This is quite a basic dvd that leaves you wanted to see more but unfortunately the 45 minute documentary gives you enough to quench your thirst for knowledge but doesnt fully deliver. The dvd is narrated by the guy who used to do unsolved mysteries, which always leaves you on the egde of your seat. He goes through the inner workings of the ancient and powerful japanese yakuza who are feard for their ruthlessness and strict codes of violence. It traces the origin of the Yakuza back to the samurai warriors who had to turn to crime and includes a number of interviews with specialists, members and tries to locate headquarters and areas of known Yakuza involvement. If you have seen Unsolved Mysteries in the past, the layout and content wont seem to disimilar with the use of reconstruction to demonstrate past activities and goings on...
