...I used Sudocrem for my sons as a nappy cream, but only when they had some problem. Now I use it on a daily basis. Advantages It is a very good healing cream that really works. I use it when I cut my finger, when we have any kind of minor burns or sunburn, other wounds. It is perfect as a nappy cream too. I used it effectively when my younger son's skin became very very dry from Johnson's baby top to toe wash. It healed in 2 weeks, but I used it 3 times a day. Disadvantages Actually I have only one problem with it, it is difficult to wash it from your hands. It's water resistant, so I need double amount of soap for cleaning my hands. Price I bought one just a few hours ago. I paid 2.59 pounds for 125g. It is worth buying a larger one if you use regularly, but it was the only one size in Sainsbury's. ...I'm sure a tube of savlon lurks in most first aid boxes, the smell certainly reminds me of the cuts and scrapes of my childhood, where this was a staple in my mum's box. Savlon is an antiseptic cream that comes in a foil/metal tube (like a toothpaste). It soothes and prevents infection whilst encouraging the natural skin healing process. It can be used on cuts and grazes as well as minor burns, blisters and sores and sunburn. It is also great for insect bites and stings. Apparently, it can also be used on spots, shaving cuts and nappy rash - although these are things that I have not used it for. When I was younger, I frequently had it applied to cuts and grazes and remember it stinging on first application (a few seconds of what would now just be a tingling sensation) but it meant that my wounds did heal and it gave peace...

...I began regularly using sudocrem for the first time about two weeks ago and I have been that impressed by the results that I felt I should write a review. Sudocrem is commonly recognised for use on nappy rash and bed sores and can almost definitely be found in most houses of those with young children. However I am going to look at it from a different aspect. As someone who suffers from eczema I have tried many different products to calm the itch, including some of the strongest steroid creams available prescribed by doctors, but most have done very little to ease the problem. ...Sudocrem is an antiseptic cream that I remember my mum using on my brother when he was a baby. I now use this on my son when he has nappy rash. There are many other uses for this cream like putting it on dry skin or burns. It comes in a plain gray tub (though in different sizes) with a red and white label. It is very plain packaging, but I think that the product sells itself. You can buy a large tub (400g) in tesco for £6.26. We have had on this size since my son was born and, after 11 months, it it still half full-a little goes a long way! The only trouble with this cream is that if you accidentally get it on your clothes or the carpet, it can leave a nice sticky mark that takes ages to come out as it is so thick and quite sticky....
