...I was given this prenatal listening system as a present a few months back and have used it almost every day. I love listening to the baby's heartbeat and the sound of her moving around! The system includes- heart beat sensor positioning belt 2 sets of headphones instructional audio DVD recording cable I recieved the summer prenatal listening system when I was around 19 weeks pregnant, which is just short of the recommended 21 weeks the company says the product is designed for. Still I thought I'd try it out to see if could hear anything. To my disapointment I couldn't detect a heartbeat. My younger brother suggested I try connecting the sensor to his Ipod speakers, which sounds odd but it worked! We shortly found a regular rapid drumming which there was no mistaking was my baby's heartbeat! We were all so excited and recorded...

Heart to Heart

Advantages: A strong album with catchy tunes and a beautiful voice
Disadvantages: A few weak links on the album, no lyrics included

...'Some Hearts' is the multi-platinum, award winning debut album from the 4th series winner of American Idol, Carrie Underwood. The album comes under 'Rock and Pop' but I fell it is very 'Country' oriented with a 'Rocky' edge to it on some tracks. There are 13 tracks on the album, with 1 bonus track. Carrie hasn't written any of the tracks on this album, would like to see her writing skills go to work on the next one, be more personal. I am a sucker for American Idol, and was pleased when Carrie won as she stood out with her modest attitude and beautiful voice, singing just about anything! Carrie has a great story too-A young woman who loves to sing, coming from a humble background growing up on her family's farm in America. 'Heart and Soul' a warm hearted novel.

Advantages: A very engaging novel with strong characters
Disadvantages: None in my view

...several characters from other books and it was rather pleasant to feel that you now knew what had happened to so and so in the end! The Plot As stated above, Heart and Soul does feature characters from previous Maeve Binchy novels, however, the story line of this book is not in anyway, dependant on having read a previous book. The novel is set in a Dublin hospital, but don't let that put you off, as it is not the usual 'Doctor and Nurse' hospital tale. The central character is Dr Clara Casey, a senior cardiac specialist at a new heart clinic at St. Brigid's Hospital. Clara has had to fight hospital protocol to set up her clinic and she is working separately to the hospital, whilst still attached to St Brigid's. Clara has a year to justify the need for a heart clinic in Dublin and she has a battle on her hands trying to obtain money...

The Heart and Soul of the Irish health service.

Advantages: Characters are well explored.
Disadvantages: All a bit sugar coated.

...As readers to my page know, I have had a bit of a Marian Keyes spell of reading, so I thought I would have a change. Not much of a change, to be fair, as I returned to a previous favourite for easy reading, in Maeve Binchy. Again, another Irish female author, and one who I trust to give me a good yarn at the end of a busy day. I was given several hard back copies of her novels by my sister, one of which was ?Heart and Soul?. I have read this as a stand alone novel, but just read another review which has told me that it was a sequel to Whitethorn Woods. I have Whitethorn Woods to read, also, so I feel a bit let down that I wasn?t made aware of this by the author when I was choosing which book to start with. ...It's not very often that I get excited about a book release, as I just don't like to pay the prices of newly released hardback books. But I do make an exception for Jodi Picoult's novels, and when I heard a few months ago that Change of Heart was to be released this month, I saved up one of my Waterstones vouchers especially for it! I eagerly picked up my copy on Thursday and took it to the counter and started reading it as soon as I got home, and managed to finish it at 1am on Sunday morning..it was that good that I just couldn't put it down. Like all of Picoult's book, this one has a controversial main storyline and a court case, so nothing new there.
