Heinz Tomato Ketchup ... luuuvly!
Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: None!
...One product i simply can't live without during mealtime is Heinz Tomato Ketchup. Heinz Ketchup holds an almost iconic stature for the British public during mealtime, and I for one am no different. Heinz Ketchup sits at my dinner table more often than my own family, and it has done since I can remember.
Heinz Tomato Ketchup was first imported to the UK in 1896, but it wasn't until 1948 that it began mass producing in the UK. Heinz Ketchup was only available in the original glass bottles, that are still available to this day, that was until 1987 when Heinz first introduced the plastic squeeze bottle.
Today, Heinz Tomato Ketchup is available in a number of different styled and sized packaging. Heinz have also expanded the range of Tomato Ketchups available, from the organic range to the reduced sugar and salt range. Even more...

Heinz Tomato Ketchup - I can't eat without it!
Advantages: Tastes great. Goes with nearly everything! Good for you?
Disadvantages: You might not like it!
...For me, many meals would not be complete without a dollop of Heinz Tomato Ketchup on the side of my plate. I am one of those people that could eat nearly anything as long as it had been dunked in tomato ketchup!
Heinz have been producing tomato ketchup since 1876 and although normally I can not tell the difference between brand name products and supermarkets own brands with tomato ketchup I have developed a definite knack for it! Cheaper brands seem to taste quite vinegary whereas Heinz get the balance just right and produce a lovely tomato sauce that actually tastes like tomatoes...but sweeter! Heinz boast that 126g of tomatoes go into each 100g of ketchup to make the rich, tomato taste in the sauce. As the tomatoes are cooked they lose weight in water but keep their flavour.

Has to be Heinz
Advantages: The look, the smell and of course the taste!
Disadvantages: Slightly expensive.
...Tomato sauce or ketchup as it is most commonly known is made by many companies including the likes of Asda, Tesco and other big supermarket chains who make their own versions but for me there is only really one make that I will use and that is Heinz.
I have tried a few others for various reasons, like them being half the price of Heinz or no Heinz being available at the time and I once used an organic version made by a company called Barsley because it was in sachet`s in the cafe I was in but none compare or in fact even come close to the Heinz variety.
There are many reasons for me not to like various other types of tomato ketchup such as the Asda brand is too sweet and a bit runny, the Tesco version is very strong tasting and a bit spicy not at all what I expect from a ketchup and then there is the Barsley organic one I mentioned...

Healthier Ketchup
Advantages: Lower in sugar and salt and yet still tasty
Disadvantages: None
...Having gone on a low salt diet to help lower my blood pressure and keep it down I was quite interested when I spotted that Heinz have introduced a reduced salt and sugar version of their Tomato Ketchup.
I do like Heinz Tomato Ketchup and tend not to buy any other brand and, although I use it sparingly, I thought it might be helpful to try out the reduced salt version as it would help me to have some seasoning on my food without loading it with salt.
I bought a bottle, took it home, and was quite keen to try it out, so I opened the squeezy bottle and squeezed some out on to a saucer to try it. On the other half of the saucer I squeezed out some of the traditional recipe and tasted them both to compare.
To be perfectly honest I did not notice and enormous difference. Both had the sharp tangy taste that I enjoy and although...

Heinz and Shoulders above the Rest
Advantages: superior viscosity, subtlety of flavours play across palette and compliment food
Disadvantages: more expensive, but you get what you pay for
..., pretend Mrs Beeton had placed this recipe in her book. You get the picture. It became such a rage that farmers began bottling the sauce and selling it, getting the attention of food manufacturers.
When the public wants a food, let there be convenience....at a price! So it was that H. J. Heinz saw an opportunity and took it after bottled ketchup became a national phenomenon thanks to a man named Jonas Yerks. Believe it or not, THIS was the man who first put a bottle on every grocer's shelf. He took his bottled ketchup and actively marketed in across America. He did so well over the next forty years, Heinz wanted a piece of that pie. Heinz realised that to get their ketchup on every table, it had to stand out.
Ketchup at the time was like a lot of the uber cheap and nasties today...watery, thin, and made with unripe tomatoes. Heinz decided...

Heinz Tomato Ketchup Sauce
Advantages: tastes great
Disadvantages: bit expensive
...I bet for many of us Tomato Ketch up is a must-have on the table, whether you having fish and chips or simply to enjoy your food. But well as the saying goes ,"quality matters".Indeed it does, esp when I have to choose between the varieties of ketch up sauces available in the supermarket.Hein'z my favourite. It simply tastes great.
Personally I have tried different brands but at the end of the day I still find Heinz taste just better! They come in 57 different varieties and have simply revolutionised the way we enjoy our meals! The Heinz company has a very good reputation and established for over 100 years.
Satisfaction Guarantee.

WALKERS TOMATO KETCHUP AND SAUSAGE CRISPS
Advantages: lovely taste and smell
Disadvantages: they are a limited edition flavour
...:
181kcal
Fat 11.4g
(of which sat fat is 3.5g)
Packaging - well the bag is the usual size for a small bag of crisps. It is white and brown with a funny banner like a chessboard on it. It also has the Heinz logo on it, just to prove its the real thing that is used as ingredients.
Of course, these crisps are no good for anybody on a diet, but we all need something nice now and again don't we?!
Walkers now claim that they are using 30% less fat in their crisps, so they are healthier!
TASTE AND SMELL
+++++++++++++++
I don't like tomato ketchup flavoured crisps, but I have always loved sausage and tomato. When you open the bag you get a lovely sausagey, tomatoey smell coming out. I think the smell alone is worth buying the crisps for.
The taste is really nice, they don't really taste of sausages but more a kind of meaty...

King of Ketchups
Advantages: unique taste
Disadvantages: pretty pricy
....01% meat ? may contain toxic industrial waste), and proclaim ? ?It?s just as good as Bird?s Eye ? you?re just paying for the packaging with them.? At least, I think this is what they?re proclaiming, since I often find it difficult to hear over the sound of my violent and protracted vomiting spasms.
The upshot of all this pontificating is this: sometimes, you get what you pay for. And this is certainly the case with Heinz Tomato Ketchup. The true connoisseur must surely appreciate its vast superiority to all other ketchups on the market. If ketchup folklore is true, then Heinz?s version is made according to a secret five-million year-old recipe, obtained from a tribe of tiny trolls who lived long ago in a Tunisian silver mine. But whether this is true or not (and looking back, I must admit it does seem a bit unlikely), it certainly is the case...

Heinz Builds Brits
Advantages: Mum's a bad cook, don't worry Heinz will help.
Disadvantages: It will become part of life.
...It?s been the one stable thing in my life. No matter where in the world I?ve been, no matter the stage of my life, the mood, the day of the week. There has and always will be a glass or plastic bottle of Heinz Tomato Ketchup.
Heinz does build Brit?s and I will support them until my dieing day.
Any self respecting person who lives in the United Kingdom (and probably the world) will know what a bottle of Heinz Tomato Ketchup looks like. God bless the day the very good people at Heinz deemed fit to shock the nation and offer us the plastic bottle.
I must admit it took the fun out of covering your chips. I wonder if the children of today know the torment we once went through to get our ketchup. You had two choices;
1. Stick (hopefully a very clean knife, not just licked) up inside the bottle and drag the contents out.
