...Troy was a breath-taking film with a brilliant plot (admittedly based on a legend), amazing characters and some amazing special effects. Story The story was well written and believable, however, it is based on a historical legend and is not the work of the makers of the film, so while I liked it, I can't give anybody credit for it. The story was also refreshing in that the good guys lost, which is original. 4/5 Characters/ performances This film had an amazing set of characters portrayed by some truly gifted actors such as Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom. There was a nice mix of brave, selfless heroes and some twisted villains. However, the film also impressed me in that it didn't see characters in black and white as many films do and there was good within evil and evil within good. There was also something to look...

With King Arthur, Troy and Alexander appearing within months of each other there was no lack of enthusiams for fans of this genre, although others may question these big budget conglamorations as being nothing more than the producers wish to ride the post-Lord of the Rings wave. As it was, none of these modern epics managed to pull through the consciousness of the audiences the way The Lord of the Rings did and either were lambasted by all or quietly faded away from memory. Of course, in the film, this is omitted, and a trivial reason for the feud between Achilles and Agamemnon is set up, which really doesn't bear any weight. A big beefy warrior, Achilles, would have been unlikely to have acted so, over such a trifle. The half Human, half god, Achilles fights for glory, for vanity, and power. His reputation is the factor that spurs on Agamemnon's armies. Also, a much more important piece of information is omitted from the film, which would have easier explained the reason Helen left her husband suddenly for the young Prince of Troy, once a humble shepherd. ...This film is due on general release in the UK shortly but I thought I'd write about it as I had a sneak preview. This PG film directed by Garry Marshall stars Kate Hudson as Helen Harris, a woman who "inherits" guardianship of her nieces and nephew when her sister and brother-in-law die in an accident. Joan Cusack and John Corbett co-star. The children are played rather well by Hayden Panettiere (Audrey), Spencer Breslin (Henry) and Abigail­ Breslin (Sarah). Helen's glamourous New York modelling world is turned upside down as she tries to be a parent. Her sister Jenny already has children and can't resist interfering. Gradually the two women come to an understanding, as they also come to terms with the loss of their other sister. Jenny doesn't work and she's rather self-righteous but she's actually quite jealous of her sister...

Advantages: fantasic battle scenes and great to watch
Disadvantages: few bad choices and decisions made by the director

...This film has a certificate 15; this is because of the violence throughout the film and slight nudity. I don?t think that the nudity in it is too bad, but there is a lot of violence involved in the battles so the certificate rating was acceptable. It has a running time of 163 minutes, which is ok if you like fighting but I do think that too much was crammed into this amount of time. The film itself is a tale of love and war in ancient Greece; it came to the screen in all its grandeur in the epic-scale adventure. It is set in 1193 BC in Paris. The main thing you need to know about the film is that Prince of Troy (who was played by Orlando Bloom), fell in love with Helen, who is Queen of Sparta (played by Diane Kruger). Advantages: Pretty much ever song blows you away, Fall Of Troy at their most raw!

...The Fall Of Troys first album is one which gets better with age. The more you listen to the incredible guitar rifts the more you start to actually hear what the hell he's playing. Once you reach this point, you start loving this band. I'd normally plan my reveiws with the best song, the worst song, and then overall did i like it. However with this album i need about 3 best songs. Rockstar Nailbomb is only 2:03 but it is deffinately one of my favorite, especially when the base comes in about 15 seconds into the song. I Just got this symphony going is has to be the best intro to a song on this, or on any of Fall Of Troys later albums. In my personal opinion i think it starts to go a little mainstream as the song pans out, but the first 30 seconds are just mindboggoling! The Last March of the Ents is one of my favorite guitar rifts...
