Silky, smooth, sultry eyes - all day long.
Advantages: Rich, highly pigmented colours. Very well tolerated.
Disadvantages: None.
...I absolutely adore Helena Rubinstein makeup, and this is no exception.
These eye pencils come in several different colours (I have the black, brown, and violet), and they have just come up with a new "shimmering" line.
It has the appearence of a normal eye pencil, with golden embossed HR logo and a really nice golden metal capsule on top. Really classy and expensive looking.
The texture of both the black and brown pencils is very, very rich. It glides on, leaving loads of colour on. Very silky indeed - not at all like some other pencils that pull and irritate your skin.
The violet is not quite so rich and "thick looking", and I believe that has to do with the colour - some colours are just easier to handle, I suppose. Still, it's the best violet pencil I've ever tried: the colour is vibrant and really beautiful.
I use these...

Don't let the colour fade
Advantages: Smooth, long-lasting, nice glimmer to the colour
Disadvantages: Narrow range of colours, colour can fade if tube is left in the sun, expensive
...no. of shades available: 6
--What does the promo say?--
"Dazzling Shine and Dewy Moisture. Inspired by the fascinating beauty of music hall showgirls dancing under the cabaret spotlights, Helena Rubinstein creates a new staging for your lips. A mesmerizing show of sparkles and glitter for truly dazzling lips."
--Packaging--
Lovely to look at - the clear plastic bottle that the gloss comes in is quite voluptously shaped, as is the lid (when I was given mine the lids were a gold-effect colour; they appear to have now changed this to silver). The applicator provided is a synthetic brush rather than being a sponge, which I must admit I prefer. There is no information given on the bottle itself, with the exception of the Helena Rubinstein logo on the top of the lid and the shade colour on the bottom of the bottle.
--Application...

Marymoose get cultural!
Advantages: FREE, some interesting things about Workington
Disadvantages: Not the most exciting attraction!
................................................
Introduction
When friends came up to stay I?d planned to take them to Workington?s very own museum, the Helena Thompson museum. Hubby and I had already been several years ago with my parents on their first visit up to Workington, and it wasn?t the most exciting attraction I?ll admit. Things were made worse by my mum accosting the museum guide and talking for half an hour about the place being used as a wedding venue. Have no idea why since we were already married and wouldn't have wanted to get married there anyway!
It?s FREE and within easy walking distance of my house, with opportunities to visit pubs on the way back. However, my friends arrived later than anticipated, so the museum trip was cancelled.
A year later and my parents and family friends were staying with us...

Should Stay Boxed
Advantages: Not much
Disadvantages: Weak story, script performances and direction - I say no more
..."Boxing Helena" marks Jennifer Lynch's feature directing debut, and being the daughter of world renowned helmsman David Lynch, you can't help but think while watching "Boxing Helena" that someone has pulled a few strings for her.
It is the story of Dr. Nick Cavanaugh (Julian Sands) who falls in love with an ex girlfriend of his, Helena (Sherilyn Fenn). When Helena is involved in a car accident, Nick decides to look after her, but he has to amputate her legs. And the sillyness continues...
As you can see I am not that fond of this movie. Julian Sands is basically a very bland actor, which is why he plays the bland characters so very well, and just fails to hold my attention. Sherilyn Fenn does the best she can with her part, but to be honest the only thing she has got going for her in this film are her looks since the script is...

The best of the best
Advantages: Long-lasting, great range of colours, nice finish, luxurious
Disadvantages: basically none - price might be too high for some
...and the stresses of the working day pretty well, and doesn't need to be reapplied as much as other lip glosses.
--Value for money--
Not the most expensive or the cheapest gloss on the market, but its various positive qualities make it worth the price, and I'd probably choose it over Estee Lauder's or Helena Rubinstein's glosses. It even contains conditioning agents and sunscreen, and is waterproof. Top....

The scares continue for Carol Anne
Advantages: Scary and good story
Disadvantages: Not as good as the first film
...of the psychic Tangina (Zelda Rubinstein) and a native American, Taylor (Will Sampson).
This is a decent continuation of the Poltergeist story, with a good story. The character of Kane is very creepy and well played by Julian Beck. Heather O'Rourke is good again as the scared little girl who the forces of evil wish to abduct. I was impressed by the special effects which help make for a scary film. I still don?t like the character Tangina, who reprises her role from the first film....

The Long Battle of Lash Batting
Advantages: Great for contact lens wearers and people with sensitive eyes
Disadvantages: Doesn't curl your lashes or make them look really long
...something that seems like a lark to begin with, but soon… its in your blood! Helena Rubinstein, Estee Lauder, Max Factor, Clinique… they all looked so good. Walking into a department store for me was like a kid walking into a candy store. I wanted it all, but my past haunted me, as did my bank balance. The sales women began to notice my disheveled appearance until one day I knew I wasn’t welcome there anymore.
By then, I was desperate. I needed a mascara, and I needed it bad. Real bad. Back then, there was even a little local company that sold mascaras in dingy discount stores. I figured I could just try it once, it couldn’t hurt, right? Yeah, sure - but how cheap I felt buying from that grungy store. I knew that wasn’t for me, I mean, what if someone recognized me going in there? But I was weak, so...

Peter the Great!
Advantages: Beautiful Music.
Disadvantages: None unless you dislike classical music
...Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was born in Kamsko-Votinsk, Russia in 1840. His father was a mining engineer. His early education was undertaken at home, by his mother and a governess.
When he was ten he became a pupil at the School of Jurisprudence in St.Petersburg , whilst he was there at the age of 14, his mother died of cholera. This had a dramatic effect on the young Tchaikovsky and from then on he suffered from bouts of melancholy and depression. In 1859 took up a position at the Ministry of Justice. It seemed that music would play a secondary role in his life.
There was a dramatic change to his life when the new great Conservatory of Music opened in St.Petersburg, under renowned Anton Rubinstein. Tchaikovsky started full time music studies there in 1863.
During his lifetime he was to write six symphonies, ten...
