Henry the cleaner . . .

.... . . This review is on the very robust Henry Numatic model HVR 200. You will know it as soon as you see it as it has a smiley face, and comes in four colours, red green blue & yellow, well now they have added another to the range - PINK!!! Technically this one is called HETTY, but it is identical otherwise. The shape is cylindrical, but not laid down, it is upright, like an oil drum, and has a buffer ring surrounding it, which does not mark walls. It is mounted on castors, and so is easy to move about. As for the suction, I can only say it is brilliant, the cable is wound up neatly in it's own drum, all tools are there, the machine itself is light enough to be carried up the stairs, what more could you want in a cleaner? There is of course a down side, but not much of one, for instance it is not easy to vacuum the stairs as...

HAPPY WITH HENRY

Advantages: Powerful, low maintenance, Simple
Disadvantages: Can be a bit awkward

...I have been the proud owner of a Henry for over two years and in my opinion it is one of the best values for money products I have purchased. It is simple to operate with a large red power button as its only control. It has a large capacity bag and is very simple to empty. The power lead is exceptionally long and winds in and out so you don't have lengths of cable all over the floor. The motor is powerful and suction is extremely good. It picks up well on all floor surfaces in our home, carpets, wood and tiles. I also have no problems using it to clean out our car. To top it all off Henry's smiley face also oozes character. The only slight negative is he is a little bit tall which occasionally means he can topple over if you're not careful. I would have no reservation in recommending Henry....

...Quite simply the best vacuum cleaner on the market for domestic use. Although it may be a bit heavy for some the Henry is a robust efficient bit of kit. Made by Numatic in Chard, Somerset, purchasing one of these will also help what is left of the UK's manufacturing industry. The overall design hasn't altered in years which says something about the quality and reliability of this cleaner. The Henry can be used bagless or bags can be purchased separately and the bags are widely available in local shops and also the DIY chains. We pay £6.50 for 10. Probably the only negative point is that Henry is quite heavy. He rolls along quite easily on his wheels but may be a bit cumbersome to carry for some people. The power cord is wound into the unit lid and is fully retractable. However for longer duration uses it is a good idea to unwind...

...OK, I admit it, I abuse my vacuum cleaners. Report me to the authorities if you like. I don't use vacuum cleaners to remove the odd bit of dust on my carpets, no, I expect them to suck up everything... guinea pig poo, sawdust, hay, rubble, soil, grit, dead leaves, cat and dog hair to name but a few. Basically, I expect the performance of a commercial cleaner for the price of a domestic one. I used to have an Electrolux Chic 1300 cylinder vacuum cleaner. Unfortunately it didn't like the abuse I gave it. It finally decided it had had enough when I used it to hoover up the rubble in my attic (before laying loft insulation). This vacuum cleaner cost about £70 and lasted 4 years. About the time I blew my Electrolux up, my mother in law bought a Henry as this had been recommended to her by her decorator who had one himself, using...

Call for HENRY!

Advantages: Powerful suction.Virtually unbreakable.strong.
Disadvantages: Heavy to carry for those with mobility problems

He's not that Horrid is little Henry

Advantages: Comical cartoon stories and entertainment for the kids (and adults)

...My youngest daughter loves this little character, she has many DVDs and even more books which she can lose herself in for hours, so, I thought I?d see what she was constantly laughing at. Horrid Henry was created by Francesca Simon, (illustrated by Tony Ross) back in 1994 and has so far graced my childs life with over books, CD/tapes/ DVDs, annuals and even an album featuring 2 discs of Henry songs. Even some books have been sold as Audio and narrated by Miranda Richardson In 2004 Horrid Henry aired on the Childrens channel CITV with over 50 cartoon episodes based on some of the books, with titles such as: * Perfect Peters Party. * Sport?s day * School fair * And the Secret club * Meets the queen * Perfect Peters revenge * Holiday * Fishing trip * Hiccups * And the big dig ?. ...This is my personal opinion on the rugged Numatic vacuum cleaner called Henry. You will recognise it as soon as you see it because it is the one with the smiley face. This model is available in four different colours, red, green, blue, and the less common yellow. The Numatic Henry is marketed as a barrel vacuum cleaner and is cylindrical, it stands upright, and floats on superb castors, it also has a rubber fender around it, so does not mark walls. It is very easy to move about. The first experimental models were built using old oil drums. The suction, is brilliant, the cable is simply wound up on it's own drum by turning a handle, a selection of tools are supplied, plus a filter, and the machine itself is light enough to be carried up the stairs. ...The Horrid Henry collection of stories is currently the subject of 17 books written for children aged between 6 and 11. The author of these books is Francesca Simon and the subject for the stories, a boy called Henry. As you can probably guess from the title of the collection Henry is a horrid child whereas his brother Peter is perfect. Henry's mum and dad sincerely wish that Henry was like Peter but we don't because then there wouldn't be any fantastic antics from Simon to right her books about. Horrid Henry and the Football Fiend is book number 14 and was published in 2006. The book contains four stories entitled; Horrid Henry peeks at Peter's Diary, Horrid Henry and the Football Fiend, Horrid Henry Goes Shopping and Horrid Henry's Arch Enemy. Each story is roughly 20 pages in length and so is more than manageable for children...

...I hired a Henry for a few weeks in July 1991 for major renovations to an old Farmhouse. He picked up everything from nails, plaster, wattle & daub, sand, rubble, brick and much, much more with ease. (with or without bags) Brilliant!, so we purchased one ,thinking if he only lasted lasted the 6-9 month renovation period, we would be quids in. He was worked so hard, and was by far, our most reliable, efficient and courteous labourer. His tremendous suction was able to retrieve coins and artifacts 'lost'; in our old oak floorboards, and he reached nooks and crannies that no other hover could touch. He was regularity used to hover outside patio areas and great for car cleaning. He continued his high performance way beyond our expectations. Sadly, our Henry died yesterday after 17 years of fantastic service. He became part of our family. When...
