Henry vacuum cleaner

Advantages: Well made, reasonably priced, brilliant suction, quiet, good tools.
Disadvantages: Hose could stretch more, poor manual

...I've just bought a Henry after a long but fairly unhappy time with a Dyson DC01 (heavy, noisy, expensive, a nightmare to empty), and now I wish I'd bought the Henry in the first place. The suction is amazing - this is the first cleaner I've used where it's necessary to use the suction-reducing controls because it sticks too tightly to the carpet otherwise. It seems to capable of picking up things that other cleaners can't (including coins, so beware!), making mincemeat of scraps of paper, which it just forces into its tube by sheer suction power. The main floor attachment doesn't quite clean to the edge, although approaching the skirting board head-on does the job. Although the suction is reducing as the bag fills, it's still very strong and much better than my Dyson with its filters half-clogged. The Henry's also very quiet...

Henry HVR 200 Vacuum Cleaner

Advantages: Great Suction, moves around easily, long hose and quiet
Disadvantages: not great on stairs & gets quite heavy,no indicator to tell when he's full

...I think this is a fantastic Vacuum cleaner and would highly recommend it for people requiring a lot of suction, we purchased Henry because we have just started to do a lot of building work and needed one that wouldn't stop working after a few weeks of brick dust like others we have had. We have had Henry for over a year now and he is still going strong. He is great at sucking up smaller bits of rubble and brick dust as well as normal cleaning around the house. The hose is quite long so makes cleaning around the house easy but in my case I have a double winder staircase so find it difficult to clean the stairs, I have to carry Henry up and hold him half way up as it doesn't quite reach the halfway point, also when he gets near to full he is quite heavy, this is why I have rated it good instead of excellent. Overall though it is the best...

Henry Hoover

Advantages: Easy to drag, lightweight, picks up practically everything, lasts forever, cheap
Disadvantages: Doesn't pick up fluff well

...in. The bags are really easy to change. I use my Henry on laminate and carpets, plus I use the hose on curtains, skirting boards etc. I have used other, more famous, brands before but found that they just didn't last as long as the Henry and didn't take the battering my Henry does (I admit it's been kicked a few times for knocking things over in it's path - it's a bit of a beast!). Plus the price is excellent and makes this hoover great value for money. At the end of the day you want a hoover that picks up dirt easily and this is exactly what it does....

Henry the Hoover

Advantages: Easy to use, brilliant suction, easy to clean
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, smells if bag gets wet, uses bags, its no Dyson

...vacuums (dyson) do not use bags so you dont have to buy them at all!) The vacuum "hose" is stainless steel with the usual plastic end for cleaning large areas - the hose disconnects from the cleaner so that you can easily clean corners and hard to reach areas. It would have been nice however to see an extension with a narrow end - like most upright vacuum cleaners have!! The cleaner itself is very robust and wheighs about 6kg (so my scales say....!) and comes with an 8m cord - excellent for my flat as I don't have to unplug it when doing the whole flat!!! Useability ------------- The suction on the Henry is excellent - I have had no problems with blockages - even though my fiancee leaves her long hairs everywhere - and the hose works well. The bag doesn't fill too quickly although I once sucked up some water and didn't change...

Henry the cleaner . . .

.... . . This review is on the very robust Henry Numatic model HVR 200. You will know it as soon as you see it as it has a smiley face, and comes in four colours, red green blue & yellow, well now they have added another to the range - PINK!!! Technically this one is called HETTY, but it is identical otherwise. The shape is cylindrical, but not laid down, it is upright, like an oil drum, and has a buffer ring surrounding it, which does not mark walls. It is mounted on castors, and so is easy to move about. As for the suction, I can only say it is brilliant, the cable is wound up neatly in it's own drum, all tools are there, the machine itself is light enough to be carried up the stairs, what more could you want in a cleaner? There is of course a down side, but not much of one, for instance it is not easy to vacuum the stairs as...

...Quite simply the best vacuum cleaner on the market for domestic use. Although it may be a bit heavy for some the Henry is a robust efficient bit of kit. Made by Numatic in Chard, Somerset, purchasing one of these will also help what is left of the UK's manufacturing industry. The overall design hasn't altered in years which says something about the quality and reliability of this cleaner. The Henry can be used bagless or bags can be purchased separately and the bags are widely available in local shops and also the DIY chains. We pay £6.50 for 10. Probably the only negative point is that Henry is quite heavy. He rolls along quite easily on his wheels but may be a bit cumbersome to carry for some people. The power cord is wound into the unit lid and is fully retractable. However for longer duration uses it is a good idea to unwind...

...OK, I admit it, I abuse my vacuum cleaners. Report me to the authorities if you like. I don't use vacuum cleaners to remove the odd bit of dust on my carpets, no, I expect them to suck up everything... guinea pig poo, sawdust, hay, rubble, soil, grit, dead leaves, cat and dog hair to name but a few. Basically, I expect the performance of a commercial cleaner for the price of a domestic one. I used to have an Electrolux Chic 1300 cylinder vacuum cleaner. Unfortunately it didn't like the abuse I gave it. It finally decided it had had enough when I used it to hoover up the rubble in my attic (before laying loft insulation). This vacuum cleaner cost about £70 and lasted 4 years. About the time I blew my Electrolux up, my mother in law bought a Henry as this had been recommended to her by her decorator who had one himself, using...

HENRY IS THE ONLY HOOVER ANY HOME EVER NEEDS

Advantages: Super Suction, Super Price, Long Cord & Etension tubes, Crush Proof Hose, Virtually Indestructable!!!
Disadvantages: OK So you have to buy bags but they're 9 litre dust bags that last for yonks & they're only five pounds approx for 10.

...An extremely powerful, easy to manouver, robust little fella is Henry. I invested in my Numatic Henry some three years ago after having 2 bagless, dual cyclone vacuum cleaners break down on me each after just 18 months of use (which of course is always just outside of the guarantee period!). The Verdict : The best purchase I ever made!! With three young lads and a puppy as well, my Henry really is put to the test every single day. This Vacuum cleaner has extremely powerful suction and one of the big plus points is that it moves easily over carpet & hard floors. I haven't swept my kitchen or laminate floor in the hall since I bought Henry!!! The Stainless steel extension tubes are about as strong as you can get and the hose reaches right to the top of the stairs. The crush proof hose really is crush proof (tried and tested...

...This is my personal opinion on the rugged Numatic vacuum cleaner called Henry. You will recognise it as soon as you see it because it is the one with the smiley face. This model is available in four different colours, red, green, blue, and the less common yellow. The Numatic Henry is marketed as a barrel vacuum cleaner and is cylindrical, it stands upright, and floats on superb castors, it also has a rubber fender around it, so does not mark walls. HAPPY WITH HENRY

Advantages: Powerful, low maintenance, Simple
Disadvantages: Can be a bit awkward

...I have been the proud owner of a Henry for over two years and in my opinion it is one of the best values for money products I have purchased. It is simple to operate with a large red power button as its only control. It has a large capacity bag and is very simple to empty. The power lead is exceptionally long and winds in and out so you don't have lengths of cable all over the floor. The motor is powerful and suction is extremely good. It picks up well on all floor surfaces in our home, carpets, wood and tiles. I also have no problems using it to clean out our car. To top it all off Henry's smiley face also oozes character. The only slight negative is he is a little bit tall which occasionally means he can topple over if you're not careful. I would have no reservation in recommending Henry....
