A heavy duty sucker!

Advantages: It cleans well
Disadvantages: It roars and the Lego gets it!

The technology that is used in the Dyson products claims to ensure that the vacuum will not loose suction, meaning that the power doesn?t decrease with age. ☆ Dyson DC07 HEPA ☆ This is an upright vacuum cleaner in a stunning, and dare I say it, very now silver colour. It has a fairly wide brush head and the vacuum tapers up towards the long handle. This handle houses the hose, which is made from a flexible and semi see through material, and the wand. The wand is solid, and is useful for extending the hose to reach high ceilings, or hard to reach areas. At the base of the handle is the on/ off button, which I think is thoughtfully positioned for taller people, saving them the long bend down to the base of the cleaner. Dyson a problem?..here's the Miele Solution

Advantages: Miele quality and longevity
Disadvantages: Price

...I originally bought into the Dyson story, though have never been greatly impressed by my DC05. The build quality appears lacking with the hose connectors being rather fragile imho, and cleaning power not being too great. I already have a Miele washing machine and can vouch for the quality engineering in that. I therefore decided to replace my decrepid DC05 with a Miele. Miele have recently revamped their range with a higher power motor (up to 2200W). Being a man I'm all for extra horsepower! The new models are slowly starting to appear on the shop floor (mine was from John Lewis). The Miele range seems quite confusing in terms of specs until you realise it is all based on a few things. 1) Power 2) Colour of unit 3) air filter (Hepa, S-class etc) 4) number of accessories included. Review of Miele Solution HEPA 5000

Great suction power!!

Advantages: No bags required!!
Disadvantages: sometimes overheats

...I bought my Electrolux Hepa Power 1400 vacumn nearly 5 years ago. All in all, its a great cleaner. It has a slightly angled handled which apparantly is a back saver...i dont really suffer with back problems so i cant comment on whether this helps or not. The vacumn does not need any bags, so when the plastic cylinder is full (which is see-thru) you can just unclick it and empty it either straight into your bin or into a carrier bag. The cleaner has got a number of adaptors to help you to get into all different nooks and crannies. The hose extends quite a distance but the hoover does tend to fall over sometimes if you try and extend the hose too much. The motor is a 1400 hundred so its got great suction. Apparently it has a similiar motor to the ones used in hospitals. As mentioned before, ive had mine 5 years and never had to...

Boy does this baby work

...I took quite some effort to research the subject before parting with my hard-earned for a vacuum cleaner, looking up product surveys, speaking to friends and family and reading Ciao opinions. Dysons were tempting, but came out very badly on reliability, looked awful, and my mum and sister-in-law have bought them and regretted it (quote: “I’d really love to drop it off a tall building”). This product sucks - brilliantly

...the reviews, we headed of to John Lewis for a thorough face to face examination. Our philosophy was simple - if a vacuum sucks up dust poorly, it doesn't matter how easy it is to use. And vice-versa. - if it sucks it up but pushes is straight back out then there is little point. And it's bad for allergy sufferers - if it misses the small stuff - there is NO point The Choice We considered 2 in the end - the Dyson Animal and the Miele 700 Hepa. We found some written evidence that Dysons have a very poor reliability record - and our DC02 did have to revisit its maker within one month. Miele seemed to be significantly better regarded as far as this goes. The Dyson seemed likely to be an improvement on our previous model - but at £270 it certainly ought to be. This sucks!

Advantages: quiet, powerful, ease of use, range of attachments
Disadvantages: none that I've found (unless you count actually having to do the vacuuming...)

.... John Lewis were selling a Solution HEPA TT for £200 with a two year warranty, a free pack of bags and filter and a free car cleaning kit. Given that other places were sellling the vac alone for £200 at the time, this seemed like too good an opportunity to miss. Off I went to John Lewis, credit card in hand, to purchase my new cleaner. They really couldn't be more helpful, giving me all the bits and pieces and ordering the car cleaning kit to be delivered from Miele. I fetched the car and picked up the box from the warehouse and went home. When I arrived home I unpacked the box and found : - the vacuum cleaner - the filters - a couple of spare bags - a large floor turbobrush (rotating brush powered by airflow) - a small turbobrush (for stairs/furniture) - a parquet/wood floor cleaning brush - a standard floor head - crevice...
