YMCA or VILLAGE HOTEL?
Advantages: A comfortable well equipped hotel in Warrington
Disadvantages: Mainly suited to the business traveller
...We had to arrange an overnight stay with breakfast, close to Walton Lea crematorium in Cheshire, for 7th August 2006 as we wanted to be present at a family funeral service the next morning.
A quick search on the internet showed me that The De Vere Village Hotel and Leisure Centre was only five miles from the village of Walton and the crematorium.
As we spent a leisure break at a De Vere Group hotel in May, and liked the standard of the accommodation offered, I made a reservation for Bed and Breakfast in a twin room at The Village Hotel.

On arrival we parked our car in the hotel's large car park, gathered our baggage and headed towards the hotel lobby and reception where we were greeted by a rather nice smiling young lady who swiftly checked us in.
She swiped my credit...

The village hotel & leisure club in Wirral.
Advantages: Clean and fresh
Disadvantages: Like a rabbit Warren
...The village hotel & leisure club in Wirral
Have recently joined here and at £32 per month, each, we feel we have a bargain. They even waved the joining fee, normally £70.
We joined, my wife and I, on the ?Flexi? promotion. This is where you are only tied in for 3 months as opposed to the ?Full? 12 month tie in.
Extras given include £15 to spend in their restaurants, 10% discounts in the bars and coffee shop and 2 free vouchers for friends/family. The vouchers entitle the user to a free week in the gym, pool etc worth £70.
If you recommend someone and they join you also get £50 of a nights stay in the hotel.
A fair few incentives but to be honest we just want to use the leisure facilities.
My wife is recovering from Breast Cancer and she has some back problems resulting from the Radiography. She...

Bolton last drop village
Advantages: Not far from Bolton retail park, infinity pool, facitlies are excellent
Disadvantages: staff weren't as helpful as other hotels
...We received an email from Macdonald to say they had special offers on certain hotels so we looked into them further. We chose this one as it had a wide range of facilities and was only an hour away from where we live so was a nice weekend break.
When we arrived, the place was quaint. It is an old fashioned little village, complete with tea rooms, pub, bakery, and various other little shops.
We were told we could check in from 1 so we arrived for 1 and were told that the room wasn't ready so we went into the tea rooms for afternoon tea. We went back to reception at 2 and were told that our room still wasn't ready so to wait in the lounge or have a wander round. There was no apology for the delay. We finally got into our room at 2.45. We had decided to get a four poster bed room as it was for a special occasion. The room was...

Relax And Take In The Scenery At The Village
Advantages: Lovely scenery, comfortable beds, nice leisure facilities
Disadvantages: Pool not very family friendly with children only allowed certain times
...played with her father. My little girl loved watching the planes and kept pointing to them as they went by over head. Sometimes they were so low that you could see the writing on them.
I would stay here again because I enjoyed my stay and the surrounding area was beautiful. When we went home I was very sad to leave such a luxurious area of Countryside.
Directions: From M60, leave at J3 marked Cheadle. Follow signs for Cheadle village. Turn right opposite White Hart Pub at traffic lights, up Cheadle Road. Hotel is situated approx 0.5 miles along this road on the left.
The Village at Cheadle is the perfect place to stay if you want to rejuvenate and have a rest. If you are travelling by car then there is a lot of free parking places at the hotel. There is wireless internet throughout the hotel available free of charge....

Its not a Hotel: Its a Village (+ bangs & wasps)!
Advantages: Kids loved it, Good food, Interesting Water Park.
Disadvantages: Wasps, lack of sunbeads after 9am by the pool, Wasps, Hills & Wasps!
...the Earth (tremors and all that) you can stand on one side of the beach and see gas bubbles coming from under the sea. The sulphar smell is a good clue as to the volcanic activity!
They have about 20 sets of shade and loungers on it, only for the hotel use and there was always space here.
The beach was about a 10 minute walk from the village complex (going down to it) but about 15 returning (uphill).
Water park:
Quite simply walk along the side of the KGV up the hill, past the rooms in the 600's, then over the hill and on the other side you'll see it. Medium sized pool, about 100 loungers with shade and 5 water slides. They also have a bar with all the usual drinks and wasps.
Watch the shower area though. We saw a good few leeches crawling around.
Thomson Rep:
Obviously contact details are available when there. They have...

One of the family at the Ino Village Hotel
Advantages: Friendly staff, Fantastic views, Great Atmosphere, Good Restaurant
Disadvantages: Top of a VERY steep hill (but taxis cheap)
...The Ino Village Hotel is at the top of a very steep hill on the edge of Samos Town, which makes things a little difficult for anyone with mobility problems, although a taxi from the centre will only cost a couple of Euro and the receptionist is happy to call one for you if you can't even face the walk down the hill.
The rooms are featured around an attractive pool, with plenty of sunbeds available in shade or sun. The standard rooms are bright and spacious, but do not have a full sea view or air conditioning. Superior rooms have air conditioning (supplement for which is payable locally) TV, mini fridge and little extras like original paintings on the walls and attractive curtains etc. All rooms have good sized balconies.
The hotel is family run and has a very good atmosphere. Breakfast is the usual continental buffet, with seating...

Macdonald Hotels The Last Drop Village
Advantages: old site, friendly staff
Disadvantages: rude guests, and no dry walkways between buildings
...of an old farm and its out buildings, in the residents lounge (cocktail bar) there are photos of the buildings before the farm became a hotel. The site has several small shops set up in a village street, there is an old books shop, a bakery run by the hotel, a jewellers, a toy shop and a craft type shop. Also there is a hairdressers and a florists but i have never seen these open. There is also a tea shop and steakhouse/pub.
For eating the hotel has its a'lacarte restaurant opposite the cocktail bar, behind reception and the steakhouse in the evenings. Personally i prefer the steakhouse as the portions are more generous the food better and atmosphere less stuffy. The staff from the restaurant and steakhouse are from separate deptments so very rarely cross over. The restaurant you wil get silver service from dedicated waiters the steakhouse...

The Village
Advantages: Atmosphere. Well produced - Escapist
Disadvantages: Story line too unrealistic for me
...Last week I came across one of those special offers in HMV (4 DVds for £20). It was end of the season sale and I picked up a film called "The Village" just to make up the numbers. It struck me as being some sort of clichéd horror film from the blurb on the cover and I didn't expect to be watching it in the very near future. But it was one of those DVDs that keep popping up every time I looked through my shelf of dozens of other unwatched movies. Well the other evening, it popped up again and I just put it in the machine without giving it too much thought. As I wasn't in the mood for thinking anyway, it would probably be an ideal film.
As we got into the film, enter the monster, well, a glimpse of it. It was supposed to be scaring me but even my wife, who makes me jump out of my skin with her sudden screams in scary movies, remained...

Top branch for a hotel.
Advantages: Top Class Business hotel
Disadvantages: None appart from $10 a night parking
...Doubletree Hotel Charlotte
895 W Trade St
Charlotte, NC 28202, United States
(704) 347-0070
INTRO
---------
I recently had the task of travelling to Charlotte North Carolina on Business, my hotel of choice was the Doubletree in the Gateway Village on West Trade Street.
As with most long trips from the UK to the States you always seem to be travel tiered when you arrive. This trip was no exception. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Cab ride from the airport to the Doubletree was only a 15 minute ride and at a cost of $15. If you were planning to drive then it is not far from the freeway at all.
From the outside the hotel looks like any other but does have a clean and tidy appearance and a little class about it. It is located in the main campus of the university but don't let that put you off. There are not...

BEST HOTEL LEISURE CLUB IN AREA
Advantages: Brilliant unbeatable leisure club, clean and at reasonable cost
Disadvantages: Hotel food average, Chistmas parties a disappointing rip off
...I have been a member of the health club for 3 years now, and my review will be primarily about this. The hotel was built just over 3 years ago and is part of the De Vere Group. The leisure club is in the basement of the hotel...I say basement , it is actually on the ground floor, but the entrance to the hotel which you have to go through is on the level above, so you have to go up steps/ramp from the very large roomy carpark and them back down again. It did originally have a cafe copra, but this was shut and replaced by a second exercise studio, the ggod news is as of august 2008 they have opened a Starbucks which members get 20% discount at.The cost of membership is obviously different dependant on peak and off peak , there is not a family discount but you can attach children to membership for £10 a month, (7.50 at the Dudley branch...
