...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Why I brought the DVD ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I purchased High School Musical The Remix Edition as I loved High School Musical and was searching for the DVD everywhere but couldn't find it, the only DVD's available were the Remix Edition and the concert, so I picked up the remix edition and looked on the back to find out there are two versions on the DVD - the original and also a sing along version including many bonus features so I thought this sounded great - and I have not been dissappointed. ~~~~~~~~~~ About the DVD ~~~~~~~~~~ I loved it even better with the singalong version. I was worried that the whole film would be subtitled but only the words come up on screen when a song is being sang - this is great as everyone loves to sing along but no one quite knows the words! On the first day of showing on Disney channel, it reeled in an amazing 1.2 million viewers from the UK alone! Now, after approximately 6 months of being on our screens, it has been reported that over 90 million people worldwide have watched it! Especially now it has been released on DVD, and just like the original there is 2 versions of this DVD you can buy, the one with just the film or the one with all the extras as well. Even though the extras version tend to be around £3 more expensive, it is essential for all true high school musical fans! ...I have heard of High School Musical for a while now, probably so has everyone else!!! When I first heard it being plugged for the premiere of it on the Disney Channel, I thought it would be a film for older children/young teenagers, which admittedly is the probable target market! But it is liked by a variety of age categories. My friend kept on about it for a while so I decided to get this dvd to watch it, now its one of my favourites at the moment! My preception of what the film was about before watching this was that the singing and dancing was at the end, with like a school play, but there are songs through out. ...there are of course obstacles that get in the way of their dream. There are of course bad people which take the form of Sharpay and Ryan Evans, brother and sister who try out for the leads of the musical and are there competition. The main story is Troy, the popular captain of the basketball team and Gabriella, the brainy and beautiful member of the academic club, break all rules of East High Society when they secretly audition for the leads in the school musical. As they reach for the stars and follow there dreams, everyone learns about acceptance, teamwork and being yourself. It's all set to fun tunes and very cool dance moves. OTHER This film is rated as a U and is meant to be for the younger members of the family but it's a good movie for the whole family. ...Not being a high school musical fan i reluctantly played this game at a family members and i was right to be scepitical as this not a good game purely because of the High School Musical theme. The concept of the game is fantastic, If only it had various song's from the years and was not based on the film i think i would have enjoyed this a lot more. This game allows you to interact with the movie's characters for the first time on a gaming console. It reloves around the hit movie, you can mix together your favorite characters, songs and scenes. ...Disney's High School Musical 2 is the followup to the highly successful (surprise surprise) High School Musical! Didn't see the first one? It's not really very important, as you'll establish the personalities and backstory of all of the characters within about five minutes of the film starting. But to quickly summariase the first one, it's all about Troy and Gabriella starting a relationship and entering auditions for th e school musical, something that neither of them have ever considered before. This is met with lots of opposition from siblings Sharpay and Ryan who have never failed to get the lead roles in anything. The second film is very similar to the first. ...My daughter was given the DVD as a Christmas present - she had seen it at school, and loved it. After all the hype TV adverts in the run-up to Christmas, I was seriously put off watching. However, I did watch and was pleasantly surprised. The plot goes like this: A basketball-mad boy (Troy) meets a book-mad girl (Gabriella) at a snowboarding holiday party one New Year's Eve. They are pushed into singing Karaoke together, then exchange phone numbers before leaving. Back in America, Gabriella has moved home, and ends up in Troy's class at his High School.
