The price and availability of the USB hub were my main purchasing considerations. What did I get? I got the main USB hub, a connection cable (one end plugs into the hub and the other plugs into a USB port on the computer), a transformer (this supplies power to the hub via a cable that plugs into the hub, more about this later in the review) and very limited instructions. Its compact dimensions (width 9.5 cm, depth 4 cm, height 1.5 cm, weight 40 g)and included USB connection cable allow it to fit anywhere on the desk, and its four USB 2.0 ports (480Mbps data transfer) allow rapid connection to all sorts of peripherals. ...I bought this Hub for my Dell Laptop around a month ago now. It is a good product, and was particuarly easy to install. It works straight out of the box and the computer installs the drivers for you, so there is no need to install any extra software. I dont receive any noticable performance drop of something that is connected through the HUB, although my Wireless mouse which uses a USB connection is for some reason not recognized when used through the Hub. This could be a problem with the mouse, although I have had no problems with it so far (It is a Logitech v500 Cordless mouse). I would recommend the product for someone who is running out of USB ports on a Laptop computer, although I think there are better products out there if portability is not a factor (ie a Desktop computer). ...USB has been a fantastic leap forward in the way we connect stuff to our computers. In fact, it's so good that it's almost become a victim of it's own success. Looking in my laptop bag, I've got a USB flash drive, a USB smart-card, a USB hard disk and a USB mouse - all of which I use on a regular basis. Looking at my laptop, I've only got 2 USB ports. Yes, USB is pretty good at plug'n'play so adding/removing devices isn't a huge problem. There are times, however, when I need to have more than two devices plugged in at the same time. I need more USB ports! Until laptop manufacturers see fit to build in more USB ports, I'm going to stick with my Belkin 4-port USB hub. Costing £20 from PC World (and probably a lot less form anywhere else), it's small enough to carry around, has it's own built-in cable to connect to the PC...

Let?s see, the manual says you can plug in any USB device: mouse, keyboard, joystick, even another USB hub. What?s this? You can daisy chain up to 127 USB devices into one PC USB port? Right, how about .. A scanner? ?. An internet camera? ??. A CD writer? ??.. A Region 1 DVD-CDROM? ???... A coffee percolator? ????. Automated dog walker? ?..
