... Petrin Hill Petrin is a hill in the centre of Prague, and it takes some climbing to get to the top! It rises 130m above the left bank of the Vltava River and it's covered in parks, making a great site for a lovely walk, and it's a favoured recreational area for the people of Prague. You can see the hill from Charles Bridge and on the top of Petrin Hill in Prague you may notice an Effiel Tower like tower at the very top. This is the Petrin Hill Observation Tower. It's a 60 metre tower which is much smaller than the Eiffel Tower, however as it's on the top of Petrin Hill it does have almost the same altitude as it's French lookalike. It was built in 1891 and was used as not only an observation tower, but also as a transmission tower. Today though this tower is a good tourist attraction as it offers spectacular views of Prague...

Beatrix Potters Hill Top

Advantages: Delightful, like walking in a book
Disadvantages: Not open every day, very busy, sometimes long queues

...Contrary to the title on this review Hill Top is not situated in Ambleside. It is in fact in the tiny English Lake District village of Sawrey. It is the delightful small 17th-century farmhouse where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her famous children's stories To visit the house of the writer of Peter Rabbit is a must for any fan of of the little books. The house is an art gallery of Beatrix' work. As you walk from room you can try to find the orginal pieces of furniture, crockery etc. which are drawings in the little books. The dresser is still there which was used for the tailor of gloucester and the teacup which a mouse hides under! As you move upstairs you actually pass the part of the stairs which is in the tom kitten book. My favourite of all is the dolls house. It is off course mainly from the Tale of Two Bad Mice but...

The Hills

...The Hills is my guilty little pleasure. There's backstabbing, friendships, boyfriends, clubbing, making up, breaking up, in fact this programme has everything! The Hills is actually a spin-off television series from the very popular show, Laguna Beach. This show followed a bunch of high school students through their life in Laguna Beach, California, a very affluent, beautiful area right on the coast of Southern California. One of the main characters was Lauren Conrad, often referred to as LC. She, in my opinion is quite a pretty, nice mannered girl, if somewhat spoilt. She has the clothes, looks, long blond hair and drives a very nice convertible car. I do like her and I think she is quite entertaining. She often seems to have a rough ride where some of her friends are concerned but that is life, and more importantly that is life...

3 box set, top gun, beverly hills cop

Advantages: bargain for 3 movies
Disadvantages: not what so ever

And beverly hills cop finds Axel Foley a free-wheeling cop from Detroit, investigating the murder of his best friend and finds himself dealing with a whole different crime culture in California, having been led there by mikeys killer . Having spent some time trying to lose 2 detectives sent to keep an eye on him he enlists their help, and the help of another friend of his who works in an art galley, they track down mikeys killers to make sure they can not kill any body else. This box set is available online from around £7 which is a bargain really for 3 movies, although it may be available on ebay for less. Totally worth it though for some classically great movies. When i bought my top gun on its own i paid £5 for that from ebay....

Hill Top farm is a delightful 17th century farmhouse that was the home of Beatrix Potter for many years. How to get there. ************** Hill Top farm is situated in the tiny hamlet of near Sawrey.It is 2 miles south Hawkshead. For exact directions you can always use the AA route finder. It is possible to get to Hill Top farm by train although it is a bit of a mission! There is a train station in Windermere and from here there is a ferry across the lake. ...Beatrix Potter is one of our most famous children?s authors and whilst we were in The Lake District recently we visited her house, Hill Top, which now belongs to the National Trust. Where is it? Hill Top is in a village called Near Sawrey which is situated about one mile to the west of Lake Windermere, about halfway along the lake and about two miles south of Hawkshead. How do you get there? When I first visited about 25 years ago I was staying in Ambleside and walked from there down to Bowness on Windermere where I caught a ferry across Lake Windermere and then walked to Near Sawrey from there. This time we were travelling by car and drove to Hawkshead and then travelled along the B5285 to Near Sawrey, where there is a free car park for visitors to Hill Top.
