...This is a smart and clean hotel in the central part of Vienna. The capital is within walking distance but the hotel is also close to the tram stops making travel even easier. Consider booking via their website or an independent agent, for best prices. Apply for the 'free' Hilton Honours card (rewards available and priority checkin & checkout). The staff are helpful and nothing is too much. Breakfast is very good with a varied choice of foods. The hotel bars are small but never seemed to get fully packed out. Ask for some nuts and a bowl for free will be supplied. The rooms are comfortable and of a good size. Its very clean throughout. The gym is tiny but there is a spa and its suitable to take a glass & drinks into. I've given it a 5star excellent rating as it was fault free. The service is superb, the hotel clean and tidy...

Excellent hotel in Vienna

Advantages: Large rooms, clean, with firendly staff.
Disadvantages: 10 minute walk to shops and cathedral

...The Hilton Vienna Plaza is an excellent hotel located on the Ringstrasse in Central Vienna, I will talk more about the hotels location later on. Before I arrived at the hotel I emailed the manager with a few questions about the local area and the hotel etc. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and I received an email back with all of my questions answered which was helpful. It took around twenty minutes to get to the hotel from the Airport, although on my way back to the airport at the end of my stay it took about thirty minutes because of heavier traffic. Check-in was fast and very efficient, the hotel staff were friendly and gave me a map of the local area. I booked to stay in a standard king room, the rooms at the hotel are a very nice size. The bed was very comfortable and there was a chaise longue, desk, television, safe, tea...

...In my search for a Vienna hotel I was looking for something classy and plush, somewhere I could get engaged in style! I also wanted somewhere fairly cental to the main attractions of the city. I would have to say that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in! For those who have stayed in Hiltons before, you know what to expect! Instant concierge service as soon as you walk in, luggage attendants who take you to your room, and fast, efficient room service all make for a top-notch overall service . The rooms themselves are very clean and modern; ours had a large flat screen television, desk, and tea/coffee making facilities as you'd hope! Very comfortable and quiet too. Not much of a view for us as we had an inward facing room, but if you're lucky enough to have an outward facing room I'm sure that the view from the tall...

...We booked the room online at www.Hilton.co.uk, Hilton guarantee that their best rates are available online. We booked a few months in advance and got a really good rate. Rates do change, at the moment double roms are £110 per night with guest room plus rooms £134. Because I boked well in advance i got a double plus room (gets a sea view, fluffy bath robes etc) for under £100. The Wbsite has info about the hotel including pictures of rooms etc The hotel is relatively modern with lots of car parking. When we checked in Reception was busy but was very efficient. All the public areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean On balance a hotel that I'm likely to stay at again. I stayed on a Sunday, arriving in time for Sunday lunch. The Restaurant, the Promenade, has a Carvery which was extremely good with starters of either soup or a help...

...I went to the Hilton for 3 nights from 27th-30th December 08 during the Christmas period. I went with a friend and her family who had gone to the Hilton the previous Christmas. The rooms were £99 per night for 2 people which I thought was very reasonable. (Although I'm aware depending on season this cost can vary) This included bed, breakfast and a 3 course evening meal (the evening meal only on one night) My friend took charge of booking us into the room so I never discovered how easy it was to book yet I never heard any complaints about the process. Arrival and Check-in When we arrived at the hotel we were directed to an underground car-park. I wasn't too keen on the car park which comprised rows of 3 cars tightly parked together actually parking each other in! Our car was at the front yet I'm not sure how the third car back...

Hotel Post Vienna

...This hotel has got to be one of the best kept secrets when it comes to staying in Vienna. The city is so compact that it is easy to explore on foot and the family run Hotel Post is one of the most economic places to stay in the central Ring area of Vienna. You are less than 10 minutes walk from the Stefansdom, Kaerntnerstrasse and the Graben and there's a subway (U-Bahn) station - Schwedenplatz about 3 minutes from the hotel, as well as stops for numerous different tram-lines. So everything is within easy reach for tourists wanting to fit in as much as possible during their visit. The Hotel Post is an older style of hotel and perhaps not as luxurious as some of the more modern hotels in the city, however, rooms are spotlessly clean, large, with usual features and more than good value for the price. ...In October of last year my husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. Astounded at how quickly the years had passed and determined to reward ourselves for our staying power, we looked for a suitably romantic/memorable way to mark the occasion. It was my husband who hit on the idea of getting the night train to Vienna (must write about this too) and I was tasked with selecting the hotel. Well, I really wanted to make sure I picked something special for the occasion. I work away quite a bit (only in the UK - nothing special) and get to stay in Hiltons and Crowne Plazas, and, whilst these are really good quality chains, I was really hoping to find something different so that I wouldn't feel like I was on a work trip! ...An eventful recent (March 2008) visit in order to compile this review, but more about that aspect later. This hotel is part of the international Hilton chain, and was chosen by my wife and I for a winter/spring weekend break for us along with our 16 month-old little boy. We have stayed at numerous Hilton group hotels previously in the UK and in other parts of the world and have usually been pleased with their standards. This was a 'last minute' booking, so we had to take what was available, and on initially being offered 'Coventry' we weren't too keen - we had visions of not talking to one another whilst we were there !! Renaissance Penta Vienna Hotel

Advantages: Not too near the city centre
Disadvantages: Great value weekend deals and lovely hotel

...The Renaissance Penta Vienna Hotel in Austria is not located too near the city centre but there is an excellent public transport facility in operation. It is about 18 miles from the airport and it took us about 35 minutes by taxi ad cost about 40 Euros (£30). The hotel itself has recently been refurbished but is charming and welcoming. All the staff speak excellent English and the level of customer care and attention to detail is excellent. Check in is from 2pm and check out by 12 noon although they let us keep the room until 3pm when we were checking out as we had a late flight home. There is parking at the hotel and a charge is made each day (about 10 Euros). The rooms The hotel bedrooms were large and spacious and were very nicely decorated in a classic yet modern style with large, imposing furniture and heavy drapes...

Advantages: Right on the Airport doorstep and connected via walkways.
Disadvantages: NOT cheap!

...walk back into the airport to eat and drink if you are staying the day before a trip. Otherwise its the hotel restaurant where they like you to book but you'll get straight in as I never saw it busy! There is a lounge area, with a few dozen tables in the centre area with waitress service. It can be a little slow especially if its busy. Consider signing up for the Hilton Honors card before you go. Its free but will enable you to get to check in or out quicker than other people. BOTTOM LINE: Good Point: You can walk to the airport in about 5 mins so NO fiddleing about with getting curtsey buses! Bad Point: It'll cost a bit more than other hotels but the convenience of the location could well make up for it....
