...From Glasgow International Airport, the M8 Motorway wends its way towards Edinburgh or Stirling but by about junction 19, roadworks slow you down to a snail?s pace as you cross the bridge over the river Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland?s second city, and as it happens, that wasn?t an entirely bad thing for once. We?d booked two nights at the Glasgow Hilton and this 20-storey monolith is situated right by the aforementioned roadworks and junction. We saw it coming. We were impressed. We found our way there with ease. We parked in the upper floor of the underground car park and made our way into reception. A lift took us up to the main lobby area on level 2, which was impressively furnished and decorated; the kind of magnificent lobby that really lets you know that you?re in a hotel that means ? and clearly nurtures - business...

I WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE HILT-ON

Advantages: Excellent Customer Service for a London Hotel

Too Many Hiccups at the Hilton?

Boston Hilton

...I like my home comforts when I am travelling abroad, but Mr Tart is quite happy to stay in any old hostel. We were looking for somewhere to stay on a trip to Boston and had decided that a guest house would be a happy medium. However, they weren?t that cheap and when I had a look on Expedia and found a Hilton for less money I couldn?t believe my luck! LOCATION: This Hilton is located in Boston?s Financial District. It is at 89 Broad Street. Despite it being in the Financial District we found it very easy to walk from the hotel to the main tourist sites of the city. Quincy Market and the Old State House were only 10 minutes walk away. PRICES: The price of this particular hotel seems to vary a lot depending on when you stay and who you book through. ...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

...Hilton Toronto Having recently returned from a great stay at the Hilton and Toronto thought that it was about time that I attempted to put pen to paper again on Ciao as been absent for quite a while! I opted for this hotel because I found a great deal of around £500 for 2 people for 7 nights at the beginning of September 2006. The room: The room was located on the 16th floor as was spacious with two comfortable double beds and nice, fresh linen. In addition there was a wardrobe that whilst note huge was provided adequate storage as well as the ever useful iron and ironing board. A large TV provided ample international TV and good 'pay per' movies; the usual Hollywood Blockbuster stuff. There was a well stocked mini bar at reasonable prices and a nice coffee machine with a good range of complimentary hot drinks...

...We booked the room online at www.Hilton.co.uk, Hilton guarantee that their best rates are available online. We booked a few months in advance and got a really good rate. Rates do change, at the moment double roms are £110 per night with guest room plus rooms £134. Because I boked well in advance i got a double plus room (gets a sea view, fluffy bath robes etc) for under £100. The Wbsite has info about the hotel including pictures of rooms etc The hotel is relatively modern with lots of car parking. When we checked in Reception was busy but was very efficient. All the public areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean On balance a hotel that I'm likely to stay at again. I stayed on a Sunday, arriving in time for Sunday lunch. The Restaurant, the Promenade, has a Carvery which was extremely good with starters of either soup or a help...

Hilton, Maidstone - A Good Option

Overall opinion: I like this hotel and you normally get excellent service. The problems I had this time were dealt with quickly and efficiently and I think I'd put them down to the fact that it was the Christmas/New Year period and it won't put me off staying again. ...I've been stopping 2-3 nights a week at the Glasgow Hilton for the last 6 weeks. I've found the standard of the hotel to be high, not the highest I've even stopped in, but very good none the less. The hotel is close to Glasgow?s main shopping centre and close to a number of pubs, clubs and restaurants and even the theatre and cinema. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, most of the rooms are spacious, generally comprising of one king size bed (or two doubles), TV, desk and chair, phone, settee, double wardrobe (with obligatory trouser press), safety deposit box, Sony Playstation (which you have to pay for) and separate WC, bath/shower.
