Hilton Metropole, London
Advantages: Great place to stay.
Disadvantages: Slightly pricey, but still worth it.
...and helpful. They seemed to be mostly made up of Australians, which I assumed were students earning their way. Well I've always liked the Aussies, so I was happy there.
Only a very short walk away, was Baker Street and the Sherlock Holmes House. If you're a fan, you can pop in to actually meet them! Also there were some great little shops and lots of Starbucks. These are all great reasons to stay at the Metropole.
So, if you're in London, consider staying at this beautiful Hotel. The foyer is very welcoming, there are a few places to eat in there, and it has a swimmingpool and gym if you're into that sort of thing.
All in all, a pleasurable and relaxing place to stay!
Cheers, BigHairyKev :)...

A Fantastic time away at the Hilton!
Advantages: Close to tube station, friendly staff, comfortable rooms
Disadvantages: Would be quite pricey if you dont get a last minute deal
...~~Location~~
The Metropole Hilton hotel is in an ideal location for both business and sightseeing. It is about a ten minute walk from Paddington station and fifteen minute walk from London city centre. However if your not up for walking everyday, it is two minutes away from Edgeware underground station. The hotel is located on the busy Edgeware road, however none of the noise can be heard within the hotel.
~~The Hotel~~
Our first impressions of this hotel were very good, we were greeted by a porter stood at the main doors who pointed us in the direction of the reception area. The reception area is beautiful, the floors are all marble and in my opinion very grand looking! (can you tell I am not used to staying in places like that!?). Close to the reception area is a concierge desk where all the staff are very...

Welcome to the Overlook...sorry, the Hilton.
Advantages: The lobby and restaraunts just might make you feel like a high flyer.
Disadvantages: Gloomy exterior, matched by the anonymous bedrooms. Extortionately expensive, for what it is.
...I was a nervous wreck when I got there. My Manager had barrelled along the motorway to the Birmingham Hilton at around 110mph, fag in one hand, mobile in the other, sometimes negotiating bends by steering with his elbow. I'm a bit of a nervous passenger, and my life flashed before my eyes on several occasions.
I was at the NEC for a PC World conference. A year's worth of dealing with the public had earned me a customer service award, and I was chosen to attend the yearly software conference, PC World's most lavish and important bash. No expense was spared - not only was I accomodated for two nights at the Hilton Metropole, but I was fed, watered and pumped full of booze, all at the Dixon Group's expense.
Now THAT was impressive - the only money I spent in two days was £3.60 on a beer - the scale of the tab Dixons picked up...

A Long Weekend in Blackpool @ the Grand Metropole
Advantages: Clean and generally friendly hotel, very reasonable prices
Disadvantages: Rooms need ventilation
...Are you seated comfortably? This is a long review of my stay at Blackpool?s Grand Metropole.
WHAT AND WHERE?
The Grand Metropole Hotel, Blackpool boasts that it is the only hotel in Blackpool located between the sea and Blackpool promenade which is certainly the truth. From the hotel there are fabulous views of the Irish Sea. The hotel is fairly close to both the North Pier and Blackpool Tower and is within walking distance from many of Blackpool's attractions. There are numerous bars, restaurants and nightspots within a few minutes walking distance of the hotel, some even less than a minute away.
BOOKING PROCESS/RECEPTION
We booked in for 3 nights in late June 2009. The booking process was easy enough by telephone and although I asked for a confirmation email to be sent and was advised they would do send one; no...

Too Many Hiccups at the Hilton?
Advantages: In a good location, many friendly members of staff, spacious rooms
Disadvantages: Questionable hygiene and maintenance issues
...Long before a certain American socialite claimed that everything under the sun was ?hot?, the name ?Hilton? was most commonly recognised as being an international hotel empire. Having expanded throughout the 20th century, from humble beginnings in Dallas, Texas, I?ve always thought of Hilton hotels as havens for businessmen trying to impress potential clients. Alas, as if you haven?t noticed, there is a global recession going on and the chain has seemingly relaxed their approach a little and offered those in need of a leisurely break the opportunity to stay in their hotels at a reasonable cost.
As a result of some rather difficult family circumstances, my folks didn?t want to venture too far away from home this summer. Whilst Coventry might not sound like everyone?s ideal holiday destination, it was far enough away from Lincolnshire...

mr hilton, i salute you
Advantages: a large variety of destinations to choose from
Disadvantages: get booked up quickly as so popular
...Hilton hotels are fantastic. There's no one way to describe them as there are hundreds of them and all uniquely different. I first went to stay at one about 4 years ago.
In 2000 i became an employee of Livingwell Health clubs - which is part of the the Hilton Group. I had never before even considered going to stay at a hilton hotel as i always thought they were much too expensive. But it was when i joined that i found out that some, yes, were a bit pricey, but that others were actually very reasonable. I did actually get a 15% discount because i was an employee, but i would have definately started staying at them even without this.
There are, as i said earlier, many countries that are home to hilton hotels; Dubai, Malta, Rome to name but a few. And of course good ol' England. And are all set in either beautiful locations...

Right-On Hotel in Brighton.
Advantages: Excellent 4 star hotel banging on the door of 5 star status
Disadvantages: Not really worth mentioning.
...wife, Amanda, and baby Josh accompanied me. And the Hilton Brighton Metropole is anything but seedy. Far from it, in fact! I thus feel somewhat ill-equipped to give you the full picture, but I?ll do my best anyway.
There?s a veritable plethora of hotels in Brighton, including some pretty seedy ones ? and there are two Hiltons ? the Metropole and the West Pier. We selected the Metropole and were far from disappointed. In fact, we were extremely satisfied. It?s a large, redbrick building on the seafront with commanding views of the English Channel. Unless, of course, you?re French, in which case you?ll be enjoying views of La Manche. Same water, but different name!
We?d booked on-line through hilton.com and had managed to secure an extremely favourable rate of UKP 50.00 for the night ? or about USD 80.00. This compared really well...

TIGERS CAN'T BE CHOOSERS
Advantages: None...
Disadvantages: ...please see review...
...I recently attended a two day Conference held at The Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, so my workplace thought it appropriate that I had a two night stay at the venue: who was I to argue? It?s the HILTON after all!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The hotel is located beside a lake in the grounds of the Birmingham National Exhibition Centre [address and contact details at the end].
802 bedrooms, a total of 5 restaurants and a bar as well as The LivingWell Health Club make up the bulk of this establishment.

* Florist
* Foreign Currency Exchange
* An on-site Convenience Store (magazines/confectionary etc)

Go to the Grand
Advantages: None that I saw
Disadvantages: where do I start?
...I'm probably being a bit naughty comparing this hotel with the De Vere Grand ( the hotel next door), but after spending a fabulous night costing £165 for evening meal ,bed, and breakfast, which included a room with a sea view, a proper menu to chose from for the evening meal, luxury toiletries in the luxury bathroom, excellent service etc, etc, we stupidly didn't go back there, we decided to give the Metropole a try instead....WHY, oh WHY?
We opted for a similar package, ok at £120, it was a little cheaper, but I can honestly say you got at least £100 better service from the Grand. Right forget the Grand, forget the beautiful three course meal served at the table, the free wireless internet access, and let's talk about the Met.
First impressions good, receptionist nice and helpful, got key for room, opened the door to a boiling hot...
