HiPP 'n' Healthy

Advantages: Organic, GM Free, Nutritioius, Convienant
Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive than other brands

...HiPP Organic Products ----------------------------- Ordinarily I make my own home-made baby purées as I like to know that my daughter is eating fresh, organic produce and I also rest well in the knowledge of knowing what's going into her mouth i.e. no salt or chemicals. However, what I want and the practicality of life are two entirely different things so it's not always an option to offer her my home-made food for every meal, such as the occasions when we are out. This is where I bring you my review of the 'HiPP Organic' range of baby foods and drinks. What I like most about the range is that it is 100% organic. Organic produce has become more and more popular as we have realised that a lot of produce we have been consuming has been genetically modified and filled/covered with chemicals and packed full of sugar and salts...

Hipp Hipp Hooray

Advantages: Quick easy and nutricious
Disadvantages: price

...I have 2 sons they are 8 yrs apartin age. When i had my eldest son i was quite young and fed him a mixture of tinned and homemade food. My eldest son was a very picky eater and still is unless it is sweet of course. When i had my second son i was a little bit more aware of what was contained in these baby jars. I picked up a jar of Heinz Banana Delight and wasshocked to discover the main ingredient was water and i have to say i was very shocked by this. I then decided to compare this against other brands of baby food this was when i discovered Hipp Organic. What is Hipp? Hipp was founded by a baker in the 19th century called Joseph Hipp. Him and his wife Maria had 8 kids then had twins. His wife found she was unable to feed both the babys so her husband started looking into alternative healthy food for his kids. As the business...

HiPPs the way (aha aha) I like it!

Advantages: Good for baby & for mum
Disadvantages: None which can I think of

...soil that?s not been treated with chemical sprays or fertilisers certainly appeals to me, I don?t know about you? It?s also Hipp?s policy to recycle 97% of all it?s waste products (although they do use glass jars), so their goodies are not only a good source of food and nutrients for our children, they are kind to the environment also and in today?s climate that can only be a good thing, right? Well Dr. Claus Hipp, Chief Executive Officer of Hipp, seemed to think so and introduced his organic range of food for babies to the UK back in 1995 following his own concerns about food health scares along with the desire to offer a varied and wholesome diet, his grandfather, Joseph Hipp, first started the company in Germany toward the end of the 19th Century after his wife was unable to breast feed, he developed a milk enriched rusk flour which...

Happy Hippy baby

Advantages: baby likes it
Disadvantages: none

...Somewhere between four and six months, you get into weaning. babies need sloppy food that they can manage with gums. Now, if you have time, a bit of energy and some suitable pots (Avent do good ones.) you can puree stuff for your baby - just cook up fruit and veg. however, if you have limited time or want the option of a 'day off' you might consider baby foods. Hipp are an option well worth considering. I am not aware of any other companies offering organic baby food (please comment if you know otherwise as this would be very useful.). I'm sure I don't need to spell out the advantages - the chemicals added to 'protect' ordinary produce can cause reactions and may have long term harmful effects. So, there's a lot to be said for organic baby food. Cost: This is usually what puts people off. Thus far, I have comapred Hipp to Farleys...

Hipp Hipp Horaay

Advantages: Good Varity, completly Organic
Disadvantages: bit pricey

...Thank goodness for Hipp organic baby food, When I had my second son, I knew he was going to be a fussy eater, he wouldn't drink baby milk, which resulted in me Breast feeding for ten months and enduring painfull breasts, then when we started to wean him, he took baby rice o.k but when it come to a jar, I ended up wearing it, he did not like it one bit, luckily I had planned to give him my dinners anyway, but I thought it best that I tried jar food in case we neede to go out anywhere. I tried all different sorts of jars, from Cow and Gate, Heinz, Boots, Sainsburys and there was not one he would eat, he would choke himself with it, on purpose, or tip it over me, then one day I noticed the Hipp Jars, I thought well I'll give it a go, so I brought one, I believe it was mixed vegetables and rice, it cost a little more than the other jars...

An organic natural baby food

Advantages: Plastic packaging, Organic
Disadvantages: Not enough in the packet

...Whilst I was shopping the other day I was in the baby aisle and noticed this baby food. I have never seen these before although I have seen the brand name before on older childrens food items such as smoothies. I decided to pick a couple of these up to try. The one that I have used is the carrots, apples and parsnips flavour. Ella's kitchen states that this is organic baby food and only has these 3 food items in it. The packaging is different to most baby food brands and is simple yet eye catching. It is in a bright orange coloured plastic pouch and has the flavour of the food wrote in brown lettering. It has a screw top which is replacable when you have squoze out the right amount. On the back of the packet it says: Inside me you'll find: *no added sugar, salt or water *no additives or thickeners *no E numbers or GM...

IT REALLY IS HIPP ORGANIC

Advantages: Organic so you sort of know what your giving your little loves
Disadvantages: Bit on the expensive side

...Hipp organic baby foods are great and my daughter absolutly loved them when she was ababy. I have always been very careful about what i eat for instants whether it is GMed or free range etc. So when my daughter was old enough to start on food i felt that we should find something organic. We tried her on many brands but found that the best was HIPP. They do a great range of dinners and the puddings are fantastic i used to finish them off so i know. They also do juices and biscuits which also have a good balance of sugars etc(ie not to much). For organic food they were actually really reasonably priced but for those on lower incomes they could be considered expensive,i would highly recommend these baby foods to all those about to start weaning their little loveys onto solids and don't forget that the more organic products...

HIPP organic milk - milky goodness!

Advantages: Organic, not too expensive, apparently tasty!
Disadvantages: Packaging lets it down

...for the day and "real" milk would go sour. We also use formula rather than just cows' milk because it has a lot more iron than cows' milk (cows' milk isn't recommended as a main milk for babies under 12 months for this reason). We also use the milk to thin food as necessary, bulk out a pudding occasionally (with baby rice), etc. It seems to work very well in this way as well. A 600g pack (2 x 300g packs) costs about £5.50, which is more expensive than C&G and others (£9.15 per kilo rather than £7.76 per kilo). And many stores don't seem to stock it (our local Morrisons and Asda don't, for example, and only the bigger Tescos seem to have it). Boots.com also sell it at least some of the time but they charge P&P. You can buy direct from the HIPP website, where a case of 4 600g boxes costs £18.80, with free P&P (cheaper than a supermarket, if...

Heinz baby food

Advantages: Quick and easy if out and about
Disadvantages: Very runny, not as thick as some babies like

...Heinz baby food has been around for a long time. I have used many makes of baby food but have found that althoughs Heinz give a great choice in baby food and a wide variety. The variety of food that you get are glass jars, tins, packets of dried food and also recently added are like little tubs with platic lids which you could keep and re use. They also have an organic range which comes under heinz but the normal unorganic packets are under the name of Farley's like the milk. The variety's you can get from 4 months, are breakfast, like porridge or apricot and strawberry breakfast which are dried packets which you then add your babies usual milk too. For a savoury meal you can have, garden vegetables with chicken or a vegetarian choice can be carrots with parsnips. For a pudding you can have fruits like apple or apple...

Hipp Hipp Hooray

Advantages: Organic, reasonably priced, accessible
Disadvantages: None really, except some of the products are a bit too sweet so we avoid those

...It's interesting to read others' experiences of Hipp milk powder and how anxious these women are that they're doing something different from everyone else. They're terrified that those people who don't understand the benefits of organic food would disapprove of them. Perhaps they haven't understood the chemicals and hormones that are in non-organic milk, or the pus content due to constantly suffering cows from mastitis which must make its way into these so popular brands of baby formula. They must feel it's okay to load their babies with traces of growth hormone and antibiotic so young. In my opinion organic is the only option to avoid contamination and Hipp is the most convenient and easily accessible way of getting it, now that the Government in its wisdom have banned goat milk formula. And I disagree that it is difficult to...
