History with a Twist

Advantages: Entertaining, educational, suitable for any age
Disadvantages: None

...This is the first instalment of the hilarious and educational sketch show that is, Horrible Histories, and, being the first instalment, sets the tone for the succeeding series exceptionally well (see my other review). Review of Horrible Histories - Series 1 (DVD)

A History of Ancient Britain

Advantages: Good overview of wide period of time, engaging author
Disadvantages: Would have liked some theories to have been more evidence based

...I bought Neil Oliver's History of Ancient Britain when it was part of a buy one get one half price offer in WH Smith. It was a bit of a whim really, beause while I like history, I don't know much about the earlier periods.
