...The Compaq Presario CQ60 has proved to be very good value for money. I paid £380 in January '09 and it has worked perfectly since. The wireless has a good range and the screen quality is outstanding. Everything else works how it should and the only real negative is a not-so-great battery life (approx 2 hrs on power saver). All in all, good for games (mine has a separate graphics card - not sure if standard?), word processing, internet and general use. One thing I particularly like is the larger screen size that results from having an integrated number pad on the keyboard. However the larger size does result in a heavy laptop. As of yet I have had no technical issues what so ever with this laptop and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a laptop on a budget! Hope this was of some help! ...We purchased a Hitachi 28" Pure Flat Screen TV in the January 2003 sales. A bargain reduced from £600 to £389. Unfortunately by February 2004 we had a problem with it. A grey screen with wavey diagonal lines and it kept turning itself off after about 5 seconds. Anyway - stupid like we didnt take the extended guarantee - which i would advise everyone to do - if you can afford it obviously. The TV was taken away by a local engineer and basically needed some extensive welding and it cost us £170 and we were left without the TV for 3 weeks. Well we werent happy as you can imagine so we tried to contact Hitachi. We telephoned our local Miller Brothers store who supplied it and they only had a fax number for Hitachi - nothing else !!! So I searched the web and found a few addresses and forward the original reciept...

This Hitachi punches above its weight

Advantages: Smaller, lighter television, with the same picture size.
Disadvantages: You're not still watching TV are you!?

...too dissimilar to a dvd player ( a small one). It did not have a card slot in it but that was ok as I knew I would not be subscribing to Top-up TV, not at that precise moment in time anyway. I paid for the box, (£60 cheap at half the price by my reckoning) brought it home and began the set up process and before I knew it the channels had been scanned and were saved in the memory. There were loads of extra channels but half of them were just blank screens with no transmissions coming through whatsoever. (Must have been stored in the memory in case you opted for the Top Up TV option) I began to investigate a little more, BBC1, BBC2 ITV, Channel 4 and Five came as standard as they are ordinary terrestrial channels anyway but I did think that the picture was perhaps a bit sharper than normal, which was good. Advantages: Good quality, cool features, allows DVD RAM disks.
