Yamaha CP300 Stage PIano

Advantages: reasonable price, reasonable sound, portable, built-in amplification & speakers, USB port
Disadvantages: no music rest supplied, a few dodgy-sounding notes around D4

...a Yamaha P-150 instead. Although this one didn't sound as good as the PR900 it only made the sounds it was supposed to make. Accordingly I lived with it for 12 years until earlier this year when an upgrade seemed due. As a result I now have a Yamaha CP300 and am, on the whole, delighted. I am pleased because, while still not a patch on the Technics PR900*, the CP300 'sings' a lot more than previous Yamaha pianos. And, of course, being a Yamaha, it is very well-mannered. There are no strange electrical noises to worry about. CP300 is also a fine MIDI/XG tone generator and much more capable than the P-150. The only major gripe I have is that CP300 does not come supplied with a music rest. You have to purchase that as 'an accessory' for about £30. As you'd expect, none of the music stores I tried had one in stock. It had to be ordered direct...

...We purchased a Hitachi 28" Pure Flat Screen TV in the January 2003 sales. A bargain reduced from £600 to £389. Unfortunately by February 2004 we had a problem with it. A grey screen with wavey diagonal lines and it kept turning itself off after about 5 seconds. Anyway - stupid like we didnt take the extended guarantee - which i would advise everyone to do - if you can afford it obviously. The TV was taken away by a local engineer and basically needed some extensive welding and it cost us £170 and we were left without the TV for 3 weeks. Well we werent happy as you can imagine so we tried to contact Hitachi. We telephoned our local Miller Brothers store who supplied it and they only had a fax number for Hitachi - nothing else !!! So I searched the web and found a few addresses and forward the original reciept...

Our school ended up purchasing this model - the Hitachi CP-S225. Below I will note its advantages and disadvantages and other important details. This is a good looking model with 1000 ANSI Lumens with a short throw lense, lamp with a 2000 hour lamp life, Digital keystone correction and it only weighs 2.4 kilo's. Hitachi CX68 MP3/CD + Radio - Tough Little Beast

Advantages: Good tone quality, looks, reliability and functions
Disadvantages: no cassette player facility

...I wanted a portable CD player for my home-office desk, because I found that playing CDs on my computer whilst I was working seemed to use up memory and sometimes caused my computer to crash. Advantages: Fast Printing (if not Adobe), Toner Level Display, Good Quality Print
