Yamaha CP300 Stage PIano

Advantages: reasonable price, reasonable sound, portable, built-in amplification & speakers, USB port
Disadvantages: no music rest supplied, a few dodgy-sounding notes around D4

...was so confident that CP300 would suit me that I didn't even bother playing it before buying it. Later, when the instrument arrived, I was not disappointed in any way. Just bear in mind that, unless you have one, apart from the music rest for CP300 a suitably robust stand will be required on which to sit the instrument. I use a Quiklok 'X' type stand. But Yamaha does a special stand costing about £150 - also available as 'an accessory'. *As far as I know Technics stopped making electronic pianos a few years back. UPDATE ON ABOVE REVIEW - 8TH APRIL 2009 Now on to my second CP-300. The first one - reviewed above - developed an odd resonance on the note 'D' that lies a major ninth above middle C. ...We purchased a Hitachi 28" Pure Flat Screen TV in the January 2003 sales. A bargain reduced from £600 to £389. Unfortunately by February 2004 we had a problem with it. A grey screen with wavey diagonal lines and it kept turning itself off after about 5 seconds. Anyway - stupid like we didnt take the extended guarantee - which i would advise everyone to do - if you can afford it obviously. The TV was taken away by a local engineer and basically needed some extensive welding and it cost us £170 and we were left without the TV for 3 weeks. Well we werent happy as you can imagine so we tried to contact Hitachi. We telephoned our local Miller Brothers store who supplied it and they only had a fax number for Hitachi - nothing else !!! So I searched the web and found a few addresses and forward the original reciept...

Our school ended up purchasing this model - the Hitachi CP-S225. Below I will note its advantages and disadvantages and other important details. This is a good looking model with 1000 ANSI Lumens with a short throw lense, lamp with a 2000 hour lamp life, Digital keystone correction and it only weighs 2.4 kilo's. The education price for this model was £1695 but I would expect it to be a little more at business price. The advantages of this machine are as follows: 1. Hitachi, well done fab camera.

Advantages: Good quality, cool features, allows DVD RAM disks.
