Huge storage and cheap price

Advantages: Big storage, quite quiet
Disadvantages: None after 1 month of use

...I bought this drive to replace my old 250gb western digital and 320gb samsung hard drives. I chose this Hitachi drive as at the time it was the best value drive I could find, and for the £58 I paid (from a company called overclockers) it offered a massive amount of storage at 1TB. So far I've been using it for a month and no problems to report yet. It isn't the quietest drive I've used, but it is certainly by no means a noisy drive and also seems to have nice quick access times compared to my older SATA drives. Im using it as my only drive, with windows on a separate partition and all my other documents and programs on the remainder of the drive. The boot up time for windows seems quick at the moment, however i am sure with time it will slow down as all drives do when they get full of user files and related junk! As far as...

The wonders of the Hitachi Deskstar

Advantages: Reliable, Quick, Quite, Good value for money
Disadvantages: Not a very high capasity

...If you are looking for an 80 GB hard disk for your PC, you have found the one to buy! I have been using 2 of these Hitachi Deskstar's in my PC for a long time now. I have had no problems with them. For the price you pay to buy one, you are getting cheap and reliable hard disk, witch has a good capacity to price ratio (around 2GB per pound). I would recommend this hard disk to anyone whom it is making up a new computer, or just needs more storage space. The Maxtor Basics 1 TB looks amazing and is very user friendly.

Advantages: Huge storage space, Looks beautiful, Very easy to install and use, Loads videos very quickly.

Toshiba 1TB Desktop Hard Drive (USB)

Advantages: Value for money, massive storage, great design, decent speeds!

...This is a bargain that i couldn't pass up without buying. 1TB should keep me going for several years and more. I bought this hard drive for £101 and it has been a pleasure to use. It's a doddle to set up and install and the fast rate of transfer makes file sharing very efficient and easy. ...With people starting to amass more and more data on their PCs, the old methods of backup such as tape or CD & DVD are becoming woefully inadequate. As a result, by far the most cost efficient method for either storing data or backing it up is the external hard drive. That said, 1TB or 1 Terrabyte is a crazy amount of space and the sort of storage that would have kept a multinational company ticking over nicely ten years ago. The LaCie (pronounced Lassie, like the dog) 1TB unit is a reasonably basic device that only has a USB2 (although USB1 is supported) interface and comes with a suitable lead, external power supply and software CD. So when the drive started to become 80% full it was time to look for some additional storage. I saw the new Freecom 1TB drive on Amazon and given my previous good experiences purchased one straight away.
